Thesis update:

Last day in the lab!!! 😭

I'm gonna miss my wormies so much!! All my friends know me as the Worm Guy, how am I gonna be the Worm Guy if I don't have any worms???? I never thought clearing out old reagents would be so sad 😢 At least I've still got my thesis to write - thesis updates will continue until I've graduated 😆

One time I came home from uni very upset and my younger siblings asked what's wrong. I said that mutated flies in our lab escaped because someone broke their jar. I didn't even realise how scary it sounded to them until I saw their faces lmao. I was upset because we were short on said flies (they don't reproduce very well) and my siblings thought that some crazy radioactive fly monsters escaped and we are all fucked now. Love being a mad scientist in their eyes lowkey

This is real. Every C. elegans nematode has exactly 302 neurons and 95 muscle cells, all of which have been precisely mapped and studied. OpenWorm is an open-source project to fully simulate a living virtual nematode. Presumably the next step is to add mod support.
