I went down. I went down into the water. It was sure something, I'll tell you that much. Probably wasn't the best thing to do after already being shaken up by the ship. But we move. I couldn't see much while I was underwater. Makes sense, since it's dark water, but still. It felt like being encased in fog. I swam for a few dozen meters. Didn't want to get too far out from the rig. But I swear I saw all the fish staring at me. They didn't try to swarm me or bite me or anything. They just stared. Freaky. I'm back on dry land now. Typing this on my laptop. I'm playing some games to numb my mind. I might try going down there again, if things get better. Before I did leave, though, I managed to grab one of the smaller fish. I cut it open, and the meat inside was black looking. Definitely not going to eat them now.

Procession

Don’t curse the stars

as Romeo did,

they are not fixed

upon a grid

they cross the sky

by centuries,

all shifting place

like swaying trees

the north star

as we know it now

will one day have to

take its bow

for it was not

so long ago

that it was not

the central glow

when they built

the pyramids,

when the Pharaoh’s

bones were hid

the north star

was a different point,

but now it’s place

is out of joint

so all these

constellations far

that cause our fate

from star to star

they shift and change

as you can see,

for all things change,

and so do we.
