The dork is flirting! Is it working?
Amazing comm piece by the lovely @thewolfprospers! Thank you again!
🌻a nice flower for a nice person!
thank you for the sunflower! i dunno if you have a sona or fav way to draw yourself for this account (lemme know if you do!), so i borrowed oohuu from your other account if that's okay!
🌻 magpie facts! animal intelligence is always a hairy thing to sus out, but holarctic magpies have been documented to pass the mirror test, so that's a point in favor of their cleverness. maybe that's to be expected from a corvid, though!
when european colonizers learned of the black and white butcherbirds of australia, they were reminded of the magpies back home and called them the same thing, the same way the american robin is named after the european robin.
there's a specific magpie species (pica serica) native to korea locally called 까치 (kkachi) that's very important culturally, and is sort of an unofficial national bird. they symbolize good luck and are bringers of good news. i picked my username by taking the name of the mythical three-legged crow 삼족오 (samjoko) and replacing "오" ("crow") with "작" ("magpie")!
Art question time! When you're working on a drawing what is your favorite aspect to work on (expressions, poses, clothing, etc) what is something you find difficult or tend to avoid?
my favorite stuff to work on is actually the stuff i find most difficult! i love a puzzle and i approach the hard stuff with that mindset. sometimes it works out, sometimes not. like i probably overwork faces with how much i tweak expressions, and it's hard to loosen up and stop being analytical (and self-critical!). overall though, it keeps things challenging, engaging, and stimulating, which is all my adhd brain really needs! thanks for the ask!
Heya! Youre always so kind to check in on folks 💕 I wanted to check in on you 🫂💕
Sorry I was insanely busy throughout last week. I was very surprised when you sent me this. Im not used to people checking up on me.
I'm doing ok. I've been slowly chugging along with my LP of Age of Imprisonment.
