With all that’s going on in the world, many might be thinking, ‘Well, at least it’s not happening to me!’, but I’m sincerely sorry to say, YOU’RE NEXT. First they’re scapegoating and dehumanising immigrants, countries under siege/genocide, and now trans people; it will move on to (and already is moving/has moved onto) women, people of colour, the disabled community, the rest of the queer community, indigenous peoples, the working class, the environment etc. They are trying to pick us off, one at a time.

Just because you haven’t felt it yet, on a personal level, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening and it doesn’t mean you won’t feel it one day. You will feel it, and it will be immense; but, you shouldn’t have to feel it yourself just to start caring.

I feel like people go through the motions of life with the mindset that ‘It won’t happen to me’, but I promise you, it can happen to you. It can happen to anyone. I am sure many of the people who are suffering now also thought similarly.

Don’t live in fear, but don’t ignore others plight in wrongfully thinking you have immunity. Please, start caring more. Practice empathy, connection, and compassion more often. We need love, and the world needs our love, and our attention.

I'm just very frustrated and angry, I cannot imagine the number of sexual assault cases that go unreported when I know so many that are unreported. It's complicated, and difficult. Sometimes...

You’d like to tell someone that it’s going to be okay.

They’re hurting, and you’d like to offer some reassurance but know it’s probably unwelcome.

Being an empath sucks. Especially when it’s someone you cared about.

So instead, you send all the good vibes out into the ether, and hope that somehow they get some and feel a little comfort.
