Summary: He was her whole world, at one time. Now her brother is dead. And she wants him gone.

“Ah, seems as though your daughter is getting on well with my boy, 'ey, Hiashi?”

“She gets on well with anyone,” Hiashi responded without looking up, “she has her mother’s open demeanor.”

“Mmm.” Fugaku stood back.

“Hinata—” Sasuke grabbed her shoulder, shaking it slightly. “Want to see the new fountain my mom got?”

“Yes!” Hinata responded brightly, immediately standing to meet him.

She followed him dutifully, as she normally did. Often, it was Sasuke leading her around to whatever piqued his interest at the time. Not many people paid attention to Sasuke, but Hinata did. She was eager to see whatever it was he wanted to show her, teach her, or lead her to. Life outside of the compound was fraught with worry, but in the Uchiha district, it was a place of comfort. Both children were oblivious to the tension between the clans, simply grateful to be around one another.
