Everyone loves happy endings. Rory was leaving, and taking the boundary with him. Crowe was free. Free from the blood pact. Free from sacrificing corpses. Free to love Aster. It was a perfect ending.

"Squawk". The crow(beast) cried, a hand wrapped tightly on its neck. Aster's. "You think I'll just let you leave? That I'll let you murder more people? Letting the villain live is such an anticlimactic ending, don't you think?" At the murderous gaze, even the cruel beast shuddered.
Crowe had never seen Aster like this. He had never seen the timid, sweet girl act out. Never saw the deranged smile on her face as she choked the beast silly. "You must think I'm stupid." She said, in the cruelest tone he's ever heard her speak.
"Release me." Said Rory, as he tried to escape her grasp. "You do not know with what forces you're messing with, Human." "On the contrary, you do not know what human you are messing with."

Aster watched as Rory screamed in pain, as he withered from the inside out. She relished in his pain.
But the bird's dimming red eyes reminded her. Crowe.
She ran to his side, a hundred apologies coming out of her mouth.
"I'm sorry, Crowe. I thought - No, I knew you'd live. After all, the bloodpact only stated that you'd die if Rory was killed by you and yes that was pretty risky but I couldn't let what happened to Winter Hollow happen again, I couldn't let someone be his victim and I'm really sorry-"
"That was...amazing. You never do run out of surprises, snowflake. I almost fell for you again.'
Aster blushed at his words, yet the greyness of his eyes caught her off-guard. Crowe felt her gaze on him. And though her unwavering attention was flattering, the worry in her eyes made him shirk back.
"It's nothing, snowflake. Don't worry." he said, trying to calm her nerves. "Oh right! Breakfast! I'll better start soon-"
"What did we say about communication?" said Aster, crossing her eyes and trying to look firm.
Crowe stopped in his tracks. he fidgeted a little, rubbing the back of his neck. Crowe was quite cute when he was nervous, with his ears a shade pink.
"I may or may not", Crowe said, "havelostmostoftheabilitytoseecolorexceptredwhiteandblack?"
And he was even cuter when he was honest. "Don't worry, Love", Aster said, caressing his hair. "I know a place that makes colorblind glasses. It's actually quite close to my current home. Plus, I bet glasses would look really - nevermind."
"I'd look really what?" teased Crowe. Aster denied giving Crowe an answer, instead quickening her steps to the cabin. "Come on, we better start packing!" Crowe caught her hands, and started walking side by side with her. "Alright, dear!
"...by the way, what is colorblind glasses?" Peals of laughter rang through the snowy forest.
