Summary:
Here you go :) I used it as part of my Day 2 work for Thaim week. hope you don’t mind.
Theo winced as Liam poked at the wound on his shoulder, bloody still leaking out sluggishly.
“Are you sure it’s not meant to be healed yet?” Liam said nervously, dragging the arrow wound with gauze.
“It’s healing.” Theo sighed.
“Not very fast.”
“I’m a chimera. I don’t heal as fast as you do.”
“Maybe next time you won’t push me out of the way of an arrow then.” Liam grumbled.
“Maybe next time you should let Nolan walk around with a loaded crossbow.” Theo said stiffly.
“Nolan didn’t mean to shoot it!”
“I know, which is why he’s still alive-” Liam snorted as if he didn’t believe Theo’s empty threat for a second, Theo couldn’t blame him. “-and it had wolfsbane on it, it would have done more damage to you than it did to me.”
“I would have-” The two boys froze as the sound of footsteps echoed in the hall.
“Hey Liam-”
Theo moved to stand, ready to make a run for the window only for Liam to shove him back down.
“Play along.” Liam hissed before his hand clamped down over the wound, drawing a pained groan from his throat. Liam didn’t let it last long his lips chasing it back into Theo’s mouth.
Liam’s lips were rough against his, passionate and hungry, leaving Theo’s fingers clawing at his waist in his haste to keep up. Theo didn’t bother questioning it, just let Liam straddle his thighs and kissing him until he forgot what air tasted like. Theo would be internally grateful for the pain shooting through his shoulder that kept his mind clear enough to remember the footsteps rushing towards them. He was sure if he hadn’t been injured his brain would have splattered out of the back of his skull with the force of the kiss and he would have gotten far far far too into it. The door opened.
“Liam do yo-” There was a strangled moan from Dr Geyer as spotted the two on the bed. Liam broke the kiss with a small smacking sound. Even despite the pain, Theo could feel his groin stirring as he caught sight of Liam’s lips, red and puffy from the kiss. Theo forced his eyes to slide away from his lips.
“Dad?” Liam squeaked, playing the part of ‘kid caught in the act’ perfectly. Theo’s fingers tightened on Liam’s waist, his eyes glued to Liam’s throat as his heartbeat pounded in his ears.
“I uh..wanted to uh-” Dr Geyer mumbled. Theo heard footsteps.
“Honey what’s taking you so lo-oh my.” Mrs Geyer’s gasp was startled, Liam reeked of embarrassment, his fingernails digging into Theo’s back hard enough to leave dents. “Right um…this is something we should probably talk about.”
“Can we do it downstairs? When we’re all fully clothed?” Liam asked.
“Okay, right, we’re just going to-” Theo listened to Liam’s parents shuffling awkwardly in the doorway before it was closing Liam hopping off of Theo. Theo swallowed, lips tingling as he looked up to find Liam with his face buried in his hands letting out pathetic groans.
“What the hell was that?”
“I couldn’t let them see you bleeding on my bed.” Liam breathed. “It was the only way.”
“I can think of another hundred ways to-”
“It was the only one I could think of!” Liam snapped. “Okay, okay.” Liam darted across the room grabbing a top from his draw and launching it at Theo. “I need you to play along for like five minutes and then you can leave and we’ll forget this ever happened.” Liam ranted. Theo barely had time to register the words before Liam was slapping a gauze over the arrow hard enough to hurt and covering it with tape.
“What exactly does play along mean?” Theo asked as Liam moved to wipe his hands clean of Theo’s blood.
“It means just..play along,” Liam said stiffly. “I don’t know okay, I’ve never got caught doing something like this before.”
“Never been caught, Are you often making out with your frenemies or-”
“Stop calling us that, You’re an ally of my pack so just quit it with the frenemies crap okay?”
“It’s more fun to say.” Theo mused ignoring the warm flow of happiness in his veins at Liam’s words. Maybe it wasn’t pack but it was close enough. Close enough that Liam actually cared when he got hit by an arrow, enough to take him to his room and try to clean the wound.
“Just, put your shirt on and let’s go talk to my parents.” Liam insisted. Theo did as he was told shrugging the shirt on and giving himself a little shake. He could play along. He was great at playing a part. He could do this.
“You know what.” Liam said, stopping Theo before he could make it out of the room. “You should go.”
“I should?” Theo asked.
“Yeah, I’ll talk to them alone. It might be easier and you’re injured so-” Liam trailed off and Theo nodded, he wasn’t going to sit through the conversation if he didn’t have to.
“I’ll see you at school.”
*
“Shh he’s coming!” Corey hissed. Theo’s footsteps faltered for a moment, eyes flickering across the four boys around the cafeteria table their bent heads snapping up at Corey’s words, returning to eating as if nothing weird were happening. Theo picked forwards cautiously, sliding into the free seat beside Nolan.
“What were you talking about?” Theo asked.
“Nothing.” Nolan said quickly.
“Nothing at all.” Mason said with a nod.
“I need you to date me.” Liam blurted. Mason groaned head dropping to the table. Theo bit hit tongue keeping him from blurting out an immediate yes.
“Dude we talked about-”
“It’s a good plan.” Liam said.
“It’s a terrible plan.” Corey said, Nolan nodded along eagerly.
“It’s not! Okay Theo, you know uh..what happened, last night with the-” Liam waved his hands like he were playing a game of charades, smushing his hands togethe in a motion Theo supposed meant kissing. Theo raised an eyebrow slowly. “Uh-well after you left we talked and I uh-”
“After his parent caught you two making out he told them you were his boyfriend and now you’re invited round for dinner.” Mason finished bluntly. Liam’s cheeks turned a pretty red. “Which is a terrible idea.”
“It’s one night, You’ll get someone really great home cooked food and we’d make such a cute couple!”
“A cute couple?” Theo asked, lips twisting in a smirk even as his heart threatened to beat out of his chest.
“I mean, a fake one, obviously, for the night.” Liam said. “But you know, you can do the whole..nice thing when you want to and if we just touch a bit and-
“Okay.” Theo said.
“Wait what?” Liam asked. Theo felt Nolan shooting him a similar incredulous look. While Mason and Corey looked ready to give up the will to live. Theo smirked.
“I said alright. I’ll be your get out of the werewolf talk free card this once. I’ve been eating crappy take out and ready meals for months, I’m up for a decent meal even if it means I have to spend time with you.” Theo said.
“Really?” Liam said, melting with relief apparently happy to ignore the last part of Theo’s statement.
“I’m not dressing up. Or bring wine or flowers or whatever it is your meant to do. But I’ll turn up and I’ll eat.”
“That’s all I need from you.” Liam promised.
*
“You don’t have to do this.” Theo sighed as Mason sat on the stool next to him.
“Do what?” Theo asked, pulling his eyes away from the biology book in front of him.
“Dinner, with Liam’s parents.” Mason clarified.
“Why are you so against me doing it?” Theo huffed. “You afraid I’m going to hurt them or something?”
“What? No. dude you’re…We’re friends now.” Mason said. “I’m trying to look out for you.”
“How is stopping me from getting a free meal looking out for me?”
“Because you like him.” Mason hissed. Theo’s fingers froze on his pen, his eyes snapping back to Mason. “And dude, pretending to date someone is dumb, period. doing it when you actually want to date that person is just masochistic.”
“I don’t want to da-” Theo paused as Mason rolled his eyes so hard Theo worried they’d fall out of his head.
“Okay one. I don’t need to be a werewolf to see the way you look at him.” Theo’s jaw clenched. “Two, I watched you take an arrow for him like, fourteen hours ago so shut up and three, Corey’s already told me you told him that-”
“Corey’s a liar.”
“Corey’s right here and told you not to bring him into it.” Corey mumbled. Theo turned to glare at the boy sitting behind him.
“I told you that in confidence.” Theo snapped.
“You told me that when you were drugged by a hunter.” Corey said. “I’d already told Mason by the time you came down enough to threaten me not to tell anyone.”
“Whatever.” Theo growled. “It doesn’t matter just..don’t tell Liam.”
“I won’t have to tell him if you’re spending a night playing happy families with him.” Mason said.
“It’ll be fine.” Theo said stiffly. It would be fine, he’d had plenty of practise acting like he didn’t like Liam, one night with Liam and his parents wouldn’t change that.
“I know you like to pretend you don’t have a heart-” Theo shot Mason a harsh glare. “But if you do this it’s going to get broken and things will be awkward and you’re-”
“I can handle a dinner.” The snapped.
“And what about after the dinner.”
“We 'break up’ things go back to normal.”
*
Theo had thought he knew what the dinner would be like from start to finish. He’d arrive to an awkward meet and greet where Liam would blush and his heartbeat would skip with the lies he was spewing it would lead to uncomfortable small talk about the weather, or school, and then they would eat in an equally uncomfortable silence before Theo was finally able to leave. They’d leave it a few days, Liam would have they broke up, Theo would be fine and would mock Corey and Mason for getting worked up over nothing and everything would continue on as it had been doing so far. Theo would pine, Liam would play the Hero and Theo would try to save his ass while the humans and chameleon chimera ended up saving them both.
That idea flew out of his head the second the door opened and Liam was pulling him in for a sweet kiss, lips brushing against his soft and slow.
“Thank god you’re here” Liam said, grinning up at him with only tiny traces of his nerves showing.
“Hi?” Theo said, voice coming out in an embarrassing wheeze.
“Come on in. Food’s almost done.” Liam said, waving Theo into the house, Theo stepped in ignoring the way his heart was fluttering happily in his chest and his lips were tingling with the traces of the kiss. Dr and Mrs Geyer were watching from the living room doorway.
“Hi.” Dr Geyer was the first one to leave the doorway, walking towards Theo with an easy smile that left Theo’s shoulders relaxing an inch. “You must be Theo, I’m Todd.” Todd said. Theo took his offered hand, shaking it solidly.
“It’s nice to meet you, thanks for having me over.”
“Any friend of Liam’s is a friend of ours.” Mrs Geyer said, inching into the hallway her eyes soft. “Not that I’m implying your just friends! I would have said any boyfriend of his is a boyfriend of ours but you know there are laws against that.”
“Mom!” Liam hissed.
“Why don’t you come help me cook.” Todd said, leading his wife away with a small laugh. Theo turned to Liam raising an eyebrow.
“She had a few glasses of wine before you came.” Liam admitted sheepishly. “When she met Hayden it really didn’t go well, she was trying to calm herself down and well-” Liam trailed off with a small shrug. “So..uh..thanks for coming.” Theo nodded opening his mouth to reply.
“Come on honey.” Theo turned as Mrs Geyer stumbled back into the hall, Liam hid a small whine. “Don’t be shy, come on, lets get you a drink.” Theo wasn’t given a choice as Mrs Geyer dragged him away.
The kitchen in the house was fairly big. Mrs Geyer sat on one of the counters, a glass of wine swaying in her hand as Dr Geyer moved around her cooking and Liam wafted out scents of humiliation from where he was standing next to Theo. Mrs Geyer’s mouth was running a mile a minute with frankly hilarious stories about Liam as a child.
“And then-” She cackled. “We found him in the garage-”
“Mom.” Liam whined.
“Wearing a trash bag, covered in lipstick a bra strapped around his head like it was a hat.”
“Please stop.” Liam urged.
“Never stop.” Theo said seriously cheeks aching from the wide smile that had been present ever since Mrs Geyer started talking.
“You know you’re meant to be my boyfriend right?” Liam grumbled. “You should be sticking up for me.” Theo ignored the flutter in his chest at the words, he slid an arm around Liam’s waist, pulling him into his side.
“It’s her job to embarrass you in front of the people you date.” Dr Geyer said with a grin. Liam grumbled something intelligible even to Theo.
“Alright. How about we change the subject before he breaks up with me?” Theo said with a small sigh, he’d really wanted to come back to a story they’d titled the cabbage incident.
“Next time.” Mrs Geyer said, nodding to Theo with a knowing look in her eye as if she could read Theo’s thoughts. Theo’s smile fell for the first time, he managed to catch it, forcing it back to full force as his fingers tightened against Liam’s waist as he reminded himself there wouldn’t be a next time. This was a one-time deal.
Theo’s eyes shifted to Liam. If it really was a one-time thing then he might as well enjoy it as much as he could. He leaned closer, pressing a soft peck to Liam’s temple.
“So, party pooper, what exactly do you want to talk about?” Theo asked, he caught Mrs Geyer’s eye again as he pulled his lips away from Liam’s hairline, a tender smile tugging at her face. Liam leaned into his side.
“Anything.” Liam said. “At all.”
“We could address your Moms drinking problem.” Dr Geyer said, voice light with humour. Mrs Geyer scowled, using a hand towel to slap her husband without moving.
“Don’t make jokes like that in front of Theo! He won’t know you’re joking. He’s joking.”
“That’s a shame, it would have been nice to have someone to go to my AA meetings with.” Theo said dryly. Liam’s hand clapped across the back of his head.
“He’s joking.” Liam said stiffly.
*
Theo was expecting more to happen to be perfectly honest. Mason and Corey had made it seem like if he turned up the sky would rain blood and they’d generally all die in a horrible messy way. Instead, it was…easy. Funny.
The embarrassing stories about Liam stopped during dinner and the uncomfortable small talk about school ended up not being uncomfortable but nice, normal in a way Theo hadn’t felt in a long time.
Then they moved to the living room. Mrs Geyer had another glass of wine and Liam sunk into Liam’s side where the sat on the couch and Theo had tugged him closer, arm holding a permanent spot wrapped around him. Liam buried his face into Theo’s neck every time one of his parents said something embarrassing, which was fairly often. Mrs Geyer and Theo bonded over their lack of cooking skills and Dr Geyer had looked ready to cry when Theo understood a medical term he used leading them into a conversation about medicine while Liam’s attention got drawn into his phone.
“How do you know so much?” Dr Geyer asked.
“I grew up with doctors.” He said after a moment, unease curling in his gut at the reminder of the dread doctors. Liam’s phone vibrated against Theo’s side, Liam stiffened in his arms. Theo’s eyes flickered to the window, no blood rain yet.
“Do you plan to go into medicine?” Mrs Geyer asked.
“I don’t think anyone would want me being their doctor.” Theo said with a small shrug. “I’m not exactly good with bedside manner.”
“What are you talking about? You’re very charming.” Mrs Geyer said, patting Theo’s hand reassuringly.
“That’s because I want you to like me.” Theo said honestly. He knew he was charming, he didn’t have a problem being charming. He had a problem caring enough to want people to like him.
“I think you’re doing a good job.” Liam said, relaxing into his side again.
It wasn’t long before Liam’s parents were tottering off up the stairs to bed with soft 'see you soons’ to Theo that made him shift guiltily in his seat. He was a hundred percent sure they would be more upset when he and Liam 'broke up’ than Liam would be.
Liam stayed at his side, even as he heard the bedroom door creak closed. Theo’s fingers trailed up and down Liam’s side, if he wasn’t moving Theo wasn’t going to bother. He tipped his head back, it thumped gently against the headrest as he eyed the bumpy ceiling a smile tugging at his lips. Maybe it was fake but it was still fun. Left Theo with warmth blooming in his chest. The kind that reminded him why he’d stuck around in beacon hills being the 'packs ally’ rather than roaming the country in his car trying to find something else. He wanted this. He wanted Mason and Corey and Liam and even the stupid Nolan kid to eat with him at lunch and hang out with him when supernatural threats weren’t abound, he wanted to be able to fit into the normal part of their lives not just the supernatural. And he could do that. This just proved it. Hell, Mason and Corey had even been worried about his feelings getting hurt. He was finding himself a place and-
“Mason said you have a crush on me.” and he was going to have to leave town in the darkest hour of the night. “Is that true?” Theo rolled his jaw, keeping his heartbeat as steady as he could. He kept his eyes on the ceiling.
“You really think I’d tell Mason anything about my personal life? Especially if it involved you?”
“That’s not an answer.” Liam said quietly. Theo let out a huff.
“Yes.”
“No it’s not-”
I meant yes, it’s true dumbass.” Theo snorted. He waited for Liam to pull away, to dive to the other side of the room and scream for him to leave but he didn’t, he stayed at Theo’s side, body locked tightly leaving Theo attempting to swallow his nerves.
“You like me?” Liam’s voice was soft, tentative. Theo gave a small shrug.
“When did he tell you?” Theo asked, embarrassment crawling through his bones leaving him fighting back a shiver at the idea Liam had probably known the entire night.
“When I text him asking if it would be taking advantage of the situation to kiss you while my parents were there so you couldn’t shove me away in disgust.” Liam said. Theo’s head snapped to the side, eyes flickering over Liam’s face looking for a trace of a lie.
“Wha-” Liam didn’t let him finish, leaning forwards and sealing their mouths together in a slow kiss. When he finally pulled back it left Theo whining, ducking back in for another kiss that Liam returned with a bubble of laughter his teeth knocking Theo’s lips.
“So Mason was definitely telling the truth then?”
“Or I’m just horny and you’re here.” Theo said with a shrug.
“Classy.”
“I’m not admitting anything until you admit it.”
“You’re such a child.” Liam huffed.
“I like you.”
“You should I’m an angel.” Theo said. Liam narrowed his eyes making Theo grin. “I like you too.”
“Okay.”
“Okay.” Theo hummed, nodding his head. “So what happens now?”
“Well, We need to mock Mason for thinking that I was completely straight-” Theo couldn’t help but snort at Liam’s words. “But then I’m thinking we go on a date.”
“I think I can handle that.” Theo murmured, leaning in for another kiss, Liam welcomed it eagerly, fingers sliding up Theo’s chest leaving trails of fire in their wake.
“I should have never come to this club with Mason and Corey” he thought as the guy across bar winked at him again.
Where in the hell did they sneak off to anyway? Liam glanced around trying to locate his friends and when that didn’t work he honed in on his other senses and followed their scent finding them on dance floor. Trying to catch Mason’s attention proved to be impossible as he watched them start to make out. Turning around to head back to the bar he felt someone grab his arm, pull him into their body, and tried to start dancing with him.
Liam shoved the person back easily enough but was now closer to the center of the dance floor than he wanted to be. Bodies were pushing up against him and scents of alcohol and sex were enough to make his already thin control slip.
He growled under his breath when he was grabbed again and turned around to find two glowing red eyes staring back at him. “It’s been awhile since any other wolves have been here” the other guy purred. He tried to pull away but the guy tightened his grip and started to run a single claw down his wrist. Liam gave his arm a hard tug which made the alpha’s claws dig into his skin causing it to tear.
The scent of blood hit the air and that mixed with the pain, his last shred of control snapped. His claws popped out, teeth elongated, and eyes burst to a bright yellow glow. He growled again, made a grab for the stronger wolf’s other hand, and dug his claws in. Everyone around them was too lost in the music to notice that danger was happening around them.
“I’ve always loved a beta with a little fight in him,” the alpha sneered “you’re going to be fun tonight.”
Liam opened his mouth to give one last warning growl when an arm wrapped around his shoulders and a body plastered itself to his back. The alpha let off a little growl of his own trying to claim Liam as his.
“There you are!” The person that was wrapped around him said just as their scent hit Liam’s nose. He relaxed slightly into the body but didn’t change back.
“Thanks for keeping him company, you just never know when you’re going to have to kill a hunter.” Theo said cheerfully. Liam could feel him walk to his side but was still too angry, too wolf, to acknowledge him. He watched as Theo grabbed his hand and tried to pull his claws out of the alpha’s arm giving it hard squeeze. When he didn’t budge Theo sighed and looked to the alpha.
“Would you mind letting go of my boyfriend’s wrist?” Liam jerked his head to look at Theo as he continued speaking, “He has some anger issues and I’d really rather not have to do damage control for his dumb ass.” Liam snarled at Theo earning him a wink in return.
Neither of them budged, Liam’s yellow eyes turned back to stare into the red ones… daring him to fight him. Alpha or not he was ready, he needed a fight. It had been months since the hospital battle and he had a lot of pent up anger fueling him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Theo’s eyes flashed in annoyance at Liam. How could he be so god damn stupid?! With a low growl of his own, Theo moved and simply broke Liam’s fingers. Liam gave a terrifying, to humans of course, roar luckily right before the dj dropped the beat so everyone except for Corey and Mason thought it was part of the music.
With Liam now focused on him he slowly backed away with a smirk challenging Liam to follow him and leave the alpha. The alpha made moves to follow as well but Theo shook his head and glanced up to the balcony in silent communication. Hoping the alpha would understand that they were surrounded by hunters. He watched at the alpha sniffed the air, snarled, and then disappeared into the crowd of dancing bodies.
“Corey get Mason out of here now!” He said in a normal voice knowing that he would be able to hear him.
“What about Liam,” came the reply, “we can’t just walk out of here with him in wolf mode.”
“I got it just go, NOW!” Theo continued to back up across the dance floor with Liam slowly walking towards him.
“Liam I need you to change back.” His plead was met with a low growl. “Liam I’m serious, I can’t fight you and the hunters at the same time. Change.” He had almost reached the back emergency exit when Liam lunged for him.
They crashed into the door leading to the back alley and rolled to a stop by a bunch of empty bottles. Winded, it was all Theo could to to grab Liam’s wrists before he tried to punch him.
“Come on baby wolf, say Scott’s three things.” Liam stopped trying to hit him and tilted hit head at the name. So he tried again, “What are they baby wolf? What are the three things?”
Still frozen, Theo was surprised when Liam opened his mouth. “The sun…” Liam managed to snarl out, “the moon…” more human, “the truth.” Theo watched as his fangs slid back and then he rolled Liam off him. Standing up bringing Liam up with him he tightened his grip on the beta’s wrists.
“Again.” He sighed deeply as he watched Liam struggling to regain control. He looked into the baby’s bright yellow eyes and it took everything he had not to grab him and hug him.
“The sun, the moon, the truth.” Liam’s claws slowly slid back and turned into human fingers again. Releasing the harsh grip he had, he moved his hand to Liam’s shoulders.
“Just your eyes Liam, come on baby wolf… one more time.” He watched as Liam dropped his head to hide his eyes from him. Like hell, Theo thought to himself, I need to see them. Using his hand, he pushed Liam’s chin up making him look at him. “One more time.” He whispered softly but without question
Only they didn’t have time for that as a hunter chose that moment to turn down the alley. Theo didn’t sense any fear or anger coming from the man so he assumed that the guy didn’t know it was the two of them he was hunting. Liam’s bright yellow eyes stared into his and the hunter was getting closer and closer. He had to make Liam’s eyes change and he had to do it now.
Using his hand that was already under Liam’s chin he gripped his face and pushed him against the wall. The hunter a mere few feet away now so he took one last breath and slammed him mouth down on Liam’s.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Liam stood there frozen.
Theo was… kissing him. He went to push him off but Theo grabbed his hand and pinned it to the wall next to them. Theo kissed his jaw, turning his head to the side with his hand, and dragged his mouth to his ear. “He’s a hunter, close your eyes.” Liam’s eye snapped shut and he was left with the feeling of Theo kissing and biting his neck.
Liam dug his claws into Theo’s side, “Not there, don’t kiss there.” Theo moved back up to his mouth and sucked at his bottom lip. Liam had just started to return the kiss when Theo shoved off him and turned his back to him. Opening his eyes, he watched as Theo breathed heavily in and out and listened to his erratic heartbeat that matched his own. He must just be anxious because the hunter was so close. Liam tried to take deep breaths to calm his but the feel of Theo’s lips on his neck wouldn’t go away.
“Let’s go.” Theo rasped out, turning to walk in the opposite direction than the hunter just had.
Liam followed blindly behind him and when they approached his truck he automatically went for the passenger side and slid in.
Liam watched as Theo braced himself against the truck taking deep breaths before actually getting in. He didn’t make any moves to start it up which Liam thought was odd considering there were hunters everywhere.
“Are we going to leave or…?” He asked with some sass. Earning a glare that melted into a smirk.
“Oh now you want to leave, only almost got us killed first. But hey what else is new?” Theo retorted.
What an asshole. It wasn’t his fault that an alpha tried to drag him away. “The alley was new…”
Theo whipped his head to look at him, the chimera’s eyes glowing bright “Not a word Liam, not a single word.”
“Alright geez.” Liam turned to look out the window and muttered “you’re the one that asked.”
The drive to Liam’s house was silent. Which meant that there was nothing stopping him from thinking about Theo kissing him. He didn’t mean to, his mind just kept replaying it over and over. His heartrate had begun to spike at the thought of Theo’s lips and teeth at the spot on his neck. Hayden hadn’t even been able to find “his spot”. Wondering if maybe Theo could find other spots on his body he shivered.
He was ripped from his thoughts when Theo asked “Why is your heart beating so fast.”
Blushing, he looked out the window and realized they were sitting in his driveway. “I don’t know” he replied lamely. Thank god his parents were gone on a weekend trip, he didn’t want to have to explain why his arms were covered in blood and why Mason and Corey weren’t with him.
Liam looked in the backseat and noticed the pillow and blanket. He glanced back to Theo and realized that he had been sleeping in his truck again. He closed his eyes and before he could stop himself blurted out “Want to crash here tonight?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Theo watched as Liam looked to his back seat and knew that he saw his bed. He watched as Liam closed his eyes and watched as he blushed when he asked him to stay.
“I don’t want your pity.” He spat out harshly. He didn’t mean for it to happen. He just couldn’t contain his anger. He didn’t understand why he kept kissing Liam even after the hunter had passed them. He didn’t know why he cared when that alpha grabbed him or why he almost lost it when the alpha made him bleed. Mostly, he didn’t know why he promised Scott that he would keep an eye on the baby wolf. It wasn’t his pack; he didn’t need to help them anymore. But for some unknown reason he couldn’t leave without knowing that Liam would be okay.
“I’m not pitying you. You saved me tonight… again. Just wanted to be nice.” Liam had finally opened his eyes and was looking right at him. His heartbeat jumped but he tried to cover it up with a deep sigh.
“Fine.” Theo shut the truck off and pulled his bag from the back. He followed Liam up the driveway and into the quiet house. “Where are your parents?” he asked wondering if he was going to have to explain why Liam had dried blood on his arms and why there were blood stains on him from when Liam clawed his side.
“They went away for the weekend.” Liam’s heartbeat jumped a couple times as he opened the door to his room. Theo was going to question it but thought better of it and put his bag on the floor. Liam turned to face him with questions in his eyes. But ended up looking away.
Sighing, “Out with it Liam, just ask.” Theo was tired, mentally drained after the events from tonight and didn’t have the patience to treat his baby wolf with kid gloves anymore. HIS baby wolf? Fuck fuck fuck. What’s wrong with you Theo. His inner monologue only stirring his anger more.
Liam opened his mouth to speak but closed it and then frowned. When he started again Theo was on the verge of exploding. “Where have you been? How did you know where I was?”
“I’ve been here the whole time, keeping an eye on your ass because you’re never in control!” He yelled. “Do you know how frustrating it is to make sure you’re not going to change at any given moment? Scott made me promise to take care of you and half the time I don’t even know why I agreed. But then you pull shit like tonight and I remember why.” He was breathing heavily now. “Who honestly thinks they can take on an alpha by themselves? Oh that’s right, YOU.” Shaking his head, he walked to the window to try and focus on something else other than Liam’s scent that was surrounding him.
“Okay, wow, that was one time.” Liam’s voice showed annoyance but his chemo signals were telling a different story. It was too much for him, Theo’s head span and he lost control.
He whipped around and walked heavily toward Liam until he was standing in front of him, no more than a foot away. “And the lockers you ripped off the wall the other day? How about the car you dented… WITH YOUR HAND. And there’s my personal favorite, when you changed after a game and stalked the captain from the other team home.” He watched as Liam finally understood how everything always seemed to be fixed after he had an outburst.
“You’ve been following me? You put the lockers back? You fixed Mrs. Martin’s car? Wait… you… you were the animal that made me chase you into the woods?” Liam looked confused and that quickly turned to anger. “Why?” he demanded as Theo watched his eyes flicker to yellow.
“Calm yourself now. I’m not doing this shit with you for the second time tonight. I already broke your fingers and you put holes in my side.” At the mention of the kiss Liam’s eyes stayed yellow but his scent changed. Theo sniffed and he couldn’t place the change, he didn’t know what it was because Liam had never smelled like that before. Wait… yes he had. In the alley. Was it arousal? Fuck again.
“I told you not to kiss me there.” Liam said low in a growl. Theo couldn’t help but feel the tingle of arousal himself. He tried to hide it but Liam sniffed the air and let out a snarl but his eyes changed back. “What is that Theo. Why do you smell like that?”
“It’s nothing, I’m going to bed.” He turned to get his bag but Liam grabbed his arm and pulled him back. He leaned in and started smelling his neck and across his chest. Theo tried to push him away but Liam wouldn’t budge.
“Theo why do you smell like that.” Liam’s nose touched his collar bone and his heartbeat started to increase. “Why is your heart going crazy Theo? Hmm?”
“Liam cut it out, I’m serious.” Theo said through clenched teeth. A bead of sweat had started to drip down his face from being this close to Liam in addition to being surrounded by his scent.
“Oh come on Theo, you judge me for being out of control yet here you are sounding dangerously close to it yourself.” Liam mocked him.
Before Liam knew what was happening Theo had him pushed up against a wall with his hands pinned above his head. “Don’t start a game that you’re not ready to play baby wolf.” He stated flashing his eyes at Liam before letting them go back to normal
Liam looked up at him and whispered “Who says I’m not ready to play?” Theo leaned in and was about to touch his lips to Liam’s when he saw Liam’s eyes change.
Smirking, he pulled back and said “You’re losing already. Are you sure you want to play?”
