We, human beings, seek happiness in our lives. Some see happiness as someone who’d love them endlessly, some would see a happy home with children, some in success and money, and some in doing good in the world.
All of these are quite complicated processes that would take time and energy, these processes might let us down during them, disappoint us, convince us of giving up as well, only open minded ones would realize that it’s just another stop of a long way of obstacles, only patience and courage will get them to the end of the line.
On our way, we’ll get to now that real happiness is found in such simple states and ways, it might be hiding behind something not very attractive but very addictive when you get to them. Considering our tough journeys, our minds and souls tend to find peace in simple things, they don’t have to be worth a thousand bucks, or cost you a trip throughout the globe, they might be just as simple as a balcony view, with nice weather, and hot coffee in your hands, warming up your fingertips as the wind tries to knock off bad thoughts off the people’s minds. That alone would get you peace, just imagine it.
The thing about balcony views, is that you get to see lots of things at once, that might be completely repulsive. You’d see the waves of the sea and how empty it is, and you’d see the city streets crowded with fast going cars, making noises to pass through before the other, each racing for a certain thing at the end of this street, that might be as well their relief and their peace of mind. It might be a family, bed, TV show, or maybe just racing to see the sunset again, to see another day setting down, awaiting another to take place.
Another one, with another beginning not necessarily new, just another one added to the list of things we’re witnessing, photographing as not all of us would see it as a click of a button, but as something to hold our memories captive by, afraid that our own minds wouldn’t be enough, doubting that we might forget what once made us smile, or catch our breaths for a second, while in fact, whatever is worth it will always stay sculptured in a corner not very hard to find, in each of our minds, hearts and souls.
And that really is what would make us happy, something very simple, someone’s smile, a red flaming sun setting to the crashing waves, a meal that tasted horribly bad but with people who made you laugh about it. That’s happiness, memories, that aren't really hidden, only in our own selves.
