today my professor told a story of one of his friends who as he got older was really resilient/humble. ie, he'd bring his own drink when the prof's family invited him over for dinner because he didn't want to give off the impression he was mooching off of them type thing.
after he retired, he was still doing a part time job of grave-digging (by HAND mind you). and at that point in life, a lot of the people he was burying was people he knew. but he was like, 'this is the last thing i can do for em so i'm gonna.'
Summary/warnings: You say ‘the L-word’ to Levi for the first time as he’s fucking your brains out. Not sfw!, short oneshot, aftercare
Word Count: 523
A/n: I could’ve made this longer but I wanted to get this out. I really love this one so I hope you enjoy!
Not SFW under the cut. MDNI
"ugh fuck. I love you so goddamn much. You don't understand Levi, you're my fucking world, my everything. I love you, i love you, i don't think i could live without you"
You fumbled your words, letting them stream out half incoherently. The sincerity in your words hit deeply and your thouroughly fucked out brain didn't change that. Drunk off of Levi, you spouted your sober thoughts between moans and whimpers.
Above you Levi hovered, keeping his same pace, drilling into you. His hands gripped your thighs tighter. Your eyebrows furrowed at the thought that maybe the L-word was a turn off, that you'd be rejected while fucking the only man you've ever loved.
"Levi? Say something. That is not a good look on someone I just confessed my love to." You throw your arm over your eyes, partially because you were still in bliss at his deep thrusts, partially so you couldn't see his expression. A moan was stifled when you bit into your lip.
Fuck. This is rejection, isn't it.
You couldn't tell if you were going to cry or come.
"Shit." You heard Levi say. "You don't understand what you do to me."
Levi's thrusts sped up, now pounding into you relentlessly. His dick drawing out loud moans from your lips.
"Fuck. Fuck. I love you too, Y/n." Levi was panting now, exerting himself with each sheath of himself into your warmth.
Levi leaned into you further, placing his weight on you. His lips neared your ears and you could hear his gasps. "Say it again, y/n."
"Levi Ackerman, I love you."
"Shit." Levi said. His sweat dripped on your body, evidence of the effort he was making.
"I would kill to hear you say that everyday of our damn lives." He grunted.
Your eyes fluttered shut. "You will. I'll never leave your side. I'm yours."
Levi's lips kissed up and down your neck, sucking on your skin. You could swear you heard him mutter "Mine," into the crook of your shoulder.
Soon Levi's hips stuttered and you could feel both of your climaxes closing in. Sure enough, the next words out of Levi's mouth was, "Shit, I'm coming."
You followed with him as he hit all of the right spots, making you feel as if you were floating.
You both flopped down in exhaustion, Levi rolling you on your side when he fell so as to not crush you. For a quiet moment you both stared at each other's eyes. You admired the way Levi's grey and blue flecked eyes shined with the reflection of the moon.
Levi heaved a long, content sigh, leaning in to kiss you on the forehead. He pulled back, speaking softly to not disturb the peaceful silence. "We should clean up."
Groaning, Levi rolled off of you to fetch a damp cloth. Before he left you spoke, "Levi?"
Levi turned towards you to listen.
"It's true. I really do love you," You smiled warmly.
Levi grinned, maybe the widest you'd ever seen him grin, sending your heart racing. His eyes glimmered. "And I wasn't lying when I said I love you too. So damn much."
Summary: Levi believes he’s bad luck, and then he finds you...
Word Count: 1k
Genre: angst with a lil fluff, mentions of injury
A/n: sorry, had to get this thought out of my head.
Levi really truly believed he was a bad luck charm. Everything in his life had collapsed around him, miraculously leaving him alive or unscathed amidst his dead comrades. Everyone he’d ever trusted dropped dead like flies and no matter how much he wished to trade places with them, he knew he never could.
It was common for soldiers to blame something for the frequent disasters. It’s easier to turn all the wallowing and the anger at one single thing whether responsible or not. So it was logical for Levi to choose himself as his bad omen. After all, he was the common denominator in his life's tragedies. It was convenient to loathe his reflection in the mirrors and to see his sadness as a just and deserved punishment.
When you come into his life he decides to ignore you. He’ll only cause you trouble and heartache. Besides, even if he let himself have this one thing he felt deep down that he’d never truly deserve it the way you deserve the world. So even though he wants to litter kisses all over your face and wrap himself in your comfort he pauses and puts up the same façade that has haunted him his entire life.
When you constantly push against him he’s firstly astounded, secondly scared. He thinks that you might be delusional for running after him. Maybe when you see him for what he actually is, you’ll realize it was a mistake and leave him. He thinks that you leaving now would be a blessing because you staying is somehow scarier, no matter how much he wants you to.
Your insistence continues despite his worries and he begins to see you as a permanent fixture in his life. He thinks of you often but a nagging thought that he’ll bring his infamous bad luck upon you weighs on him heavily. He always tries to go back to how it was-shutting you out, keeping you safe- then you shove your way back into his heart and his resolve wanes.
You slowly become his good luck charm. You are his exact opposite and he finds comfort in the way you foil him. If he has always had bad luck then you're the best damn bad luck he’s ever had. In a sense- even though you are good, the way you make him fall for you makes him feel like you’ll inevitably ruin him in a way that no-one has. For once he thinks he’s met his match. You will cancel out anything that he causes to go wrong and he’ll be yours.
That’s why when he sees you lying bloodied on the battlefield his blood runs cold. Finally, he thinks, his bad luck overpowered everything perfect about you and he’s bled you dry of luck. When he checks for your pulse he feels as if he's burning your skin despite his gentle, air-like touch. Once again, he's bad luck and it seems as if he'll never stop hurting the ones he loves.
It takes two weeks for him to visit you in the infirmary. In those weeks he spent his time pacing past your door and finding excuses to not see you because he was 'busy.'
He spends hours trying to convince himself to let you go so that he can 'protect' you from all the calamities that seem to follow him. He tries to run over the break up he's planning in his head but the thought of you always ruins it. It makes him want to give up and just hold you, even if you have to deal with his shitty luck for the rest of your shitty lives together.
When he finally visits you you're incredibly happy. It had been a worrying few weeks without Levi by your side. Hange had shaken their head when you asked why he didn't come by and sighed a simple, "he's an idiot, y/n. He'll come around." Sure enough he did come, even if only to ease the constant dialogue in his head. He wanted to see you to clear his mind in the miraculous way you always do.
He sends you a small, nervous smile and you think that you've never seen a man look more regretful in your entire life. The sadness in his eyes was immeasurable and you feel your heart begin to drop.
"Hey." You say. You return a sad smile, waiting for him to explain, for him to talk to you, for him to say that he'll stay with you forever. At least, that's what you hope he'll do.
"Hey," he replies. He gulps. You're still bandaged over your many wounds and your arm is wrapped in a cast. He looks as it and all he see is that it's his fault. It cements how much he wants to leave you, not because he doesn't love you, but because he loves you so much that this hurts in a way he hasn't felt since Isabel and Furlan died. It's a strange experience to love so much that you only remember the way the love ends.
In the same minute he tries to steady his nerves to leave you he admires your beauty and it halts everything inside of him.
"I..."
In one breath his tongue twists and turns, trying to decide between "I'm breaking up with you," and, "I love you."
Instead he says, "I'm sorry."
You release a breath and open your arms to him, accepting and warm.
"It's okay Levi, we can talk about it later."
You think he's saying sorry for not visiting but really, he's saying sorry for existing, for letting you down, for not being enough, for being bad luck. And even though he believes all of those things about himself he sits in the chair next to your bed and lets you embrace him in a way that makes him feel weightless.
By the time he falls asleep next to you after talking through the evening he is certain he is utterly in love. Even if he's bad luck he knows you'll be there to accept all of him.
Summary: It’s Levi’s birthday and you always make sure to spend it with him
Word Count: 1.2k
Genre: Pure fluff
A/n: Merry Christmas and Happy Levi day! I wanted to make this a little longer but I’m tired and wanted to get this out quickly. Enjoy!
It's an unwritten rule among everyone who knows Levi that Christmas is spent with him. Levi has never been fond of celebrating his birthday, arguing that “I'm nothing to celebrate,” and “It brings up bad memories,” but he can barely complain when you 'conveniently' hold a Christmas party with him each year. Even though he detests his birthday he would rather spend it with his favorite people than cooped up alone.
So on Christmas night when Levi walks in to see his office decorated for Christmas he is just a bit more joyful than usual. You had spent the day decorating and setting up a table in the corner for food. With a little help from Hange and Erwin you had been able to hang decor on the walls while Eren, Connie and Jean had kept Levi preoccupied (mostly so he couldn't complain about how much dust the tree would collect or how messy it would be to take down the streamers.)
The Christmas tree shone brightly with lights and tinsel, the walls beaming with shiny ornaments and popcorn strings. The table you had set up earlier was now full with neatly placed plates of food. Some of which you had bought yourself while other things were brought by your friends.
He walks in, flanked by the veterans and his squad who are all already wishing him a merry christmas and walking towards the appetizers. Levi nods, inspecting the room before coming up to stand with you by the tree. You acknowledge him, seeing the glow in his eyes and hand him a candy cane.
"You did a lot this year." He says casually. He puts the candy cane in his pocket for later. You know that sometimes he uses it to stir his peppermint tea.
"Of course I did, Levi." You smile at him and drink in the sight of a very content Levi. "I wouldn't have anything less for the birthday boy." He laughs quietly. His hair falls down on his brow and all you want to do is brush it away and kiss his temple. If you weren't surrounded by your friends you would, but instead you settle for discreetly taking his hand in yours.
he catches your gaze and squeezes your hand. "Thank you, really." He goes on. "It's nice."
Your heart melts at that. If Levi really enjoyed these parties then you would hold them for him for the rest of your lives. "I'm glad you like it.." You lean in, resting your head on his shoulder. It's more PDA than he usually tolerates but he makes no protest.
"Let's go get some food before the 104th shows up," you say.
Last year Connie and Jean had practically devoured the entirety of the food so it was better to eat some before they arrived. They always made a mess too. That year they had made it a competition to throw nachos into each other's mouths from a distance. By the end of the night Levi had scolded them for getting cheese everywhere and had them clean his office.
Levi grimaces, a familiar crease forming on his brow. "Yeah, that's a good point." He shakes his head.
"Those boys are ravenous." You chuckle, knowing that Levi was entertained by them nonetheless.
You and Levi had just finished piling up your plates before the 104th had burst in with Connie yelling, "Yo! Where's the party!"
You sighed in exasperation as you watched Hange bounce up to give him a high five. It's clear Hange had gotten started on the wine, fueling an already energetic party. It seemed as though Levi was amused. He looked relaxed, dressed up in a red sweater and cradling a glass of wine. He would never admit it but he really did like watching everyone have a good time.
As the cadets filed in a few left gift bags and wrapped presents by the tree. There had already been a few there before but more steadily grew on the pile. It was easy to tell they were all for Levi.
Levi grumbled from where he sat next to you. "Seriously, I keep telling them not to bring anything. The wrapping paper is a hassle."
You chuckled. "It's all in good spirit at least."
"Yeah, well I can't stop them anyways."
Levi set his finished plate down when Hange came up to him. "Hey! This is your party, shorty. Come join us!"
His squad stood nearby and Petra chirped a "Yeah! Have some more wine, Captain. We snagged a bottle from the Mp's."
Levi exchanged a glance with you, silently asking permission.
You nodded. "It's your party, Levi."
He huffed, taking Hange's hand despite his annoyed facade. They led him to the congregation of the veterans while Oluo poured him a glass of wine.
All the people here reminded you of how much you really truly loved Christmas. Levi's birthday seemed to be the one day of the year that he allowed himself some happiness, sleeping in the morning and enjoying other's company in moments like these.
You watched Levi listen to Erwin talk about a wayward cadet and you watched him hold in a guffaw when Gunther laughed so hard eggnog came out his nose. It was relaxing to watch Levi become so carefree. Any other day Levi would be complaining about how disgusting that was and how he'd have to clean up the eggnog later on. Now he was smiling faintly without worry.
You got up to join the group, looking forward to the funny stories everyone was bound to share. You looked around to see Mikasa, Historia and Armin chatting in a corner while Jean and Eren were holding a rock-paper-scissors contest for unknown reasons. Sasha and Connie were nowhere to be found but it was safe to assume they were off stealing and hoarding the food.
You headed over to Levi, slipping your hand into his with ease. It really was a great way to spend Levi's birthday.
~~~~~~~~
By the time you had herded everybody out of Levi's office it was late. Oluo had fallen asleep on a chair and more than one person(Hange) had been stumbling, drunk off the wine. Afterwards, you and Levi tidied everything with no real intention of cleaning up fully until tomorrow morning.
"Bed?" Levi asked as he finished tying up a trash bag.
"Yeah, I'm exhausted." You replied. Levi looked about as worn out as you felt, his eyebags settling into their usual spot and his eyelids heavy with tiredness.
You walked with him to his bedroom, ready to curl up next to him and fall asleep.
"Did you have a good time?" You asked him.
"Yeah, I did." A faint smile found its way onto his face. "It's always better with you."
When you reached his room you discarded your sweaters for more comfortable pajamas. Levi tugged back the comforter, inviting you to slip in beside him. You got under the covers, cozily shifting closer to feel Levi's warmth.
Levi laid his head down on the pillow next to you, throwing an arm around your waist.
"I love you."
You flushed a bit. Levi rarely said those three words. You knew he loved you and he always showed it so it wasn't necessary for him to verbalize it. But when he did say it you cherished it.
His eyes fluttered close and you crept closer, nuzzling your nose against his. He sighed, a deep contentment etched onto his face.
"I love you too, Levi Ackerman."
You closed your eyes, pulling the blanket over your shoulders before drifting off, Levi pressed up against you.
Quietly you whispered,
"Happy Birthday."
