Yamada Ryosuke | Think Note 真紅の音 Vol.50 Move
that post abt social classes i rbed earlier today also has me thinking abt something that’s been on my mind re: music, esp since i’ve started listening to pinkpantheress a lot. i don’t rly know much about her background specifically but in general, artists who primarily talk abt love and heartbreak in their songs are so hard for me to connect to. i just keep thinking “this is the only thing you have to say? this is the worst and most significant thing happening for you?”
and to be fair i’m sure that a lot of those artists (esp pop artists like pinkpantheress) specifically try to be relatable to a larger audience and specifically in a music biz sense, white middle and upper class ppl who Don’t have the same experiences and struggles that lower class + marginalized ppl do. and i don’t blame them for strategizing like that! i think it’s kind of like the social media effect where u think everyone else is living these perfect idealistic lives bc that’s all they share. but it’s just been making me think abt the messages musicians choose to share and what content they choose to focus on
