“I thought firefighters were supposed to help people. Is no one going to help me out here?” Robyn stood in the middle of the doorway, baby carrier in hand as the one month old squirmed around in the seat. She made sure her announcement was well heard, smiling as people came running. “Babbling Brooks, my dude, where the fuck is your brother?” Asher rolled his eyes but pushed his way through cooing men to hug his sister in law. She watched as Hermann picked the little girl. “Watch yourself old man, don’t drop my baby.” Robyn looked up when she saw another man who looked suspiciously like her husband, noting SQUAD written on the shirt. “Look who decided to show. Were you sleeping, lieutenant? You’re fucking lucky. Little miss I’m-Going-To-Scream-Cause-I-Miss-My-Dad wouldn’t let me sleep.” She kissed him softly. “Figured if I couldn’t sleep I’d at least come make your life a living hell. What else are wives for, am I right? Yeah, Hermann, you got me.”

Happy Wednesday everyone!

This week’s been exciting for me for two reasons. One: I am finally adjusting to my new schedule and two: I am finally able to put my own choreography together. Yep, your girl’s making it in the world lol. 

No, but seriously I didn’t think I’d come up with my own choreography. Why? I didn’t think this dance thing would be where it is today. Plus it relates to the type of theatre I want to do: physical theatre. Some might view it as strange but to me, it’s people being creative. Also, I have a lot of energy. Like a lot. I think I scare some people with the amount of energy I have. 

And school’s been amazing. I feel like I’ve said that a lot but it’s true. I’ve been learning more about devised theatre companies and it’s super interesting. And doing the work is a joy for me. It’s collaborative, experimental, and something I’d love to pursue professionally. It reminds me of being in a band because everyone comes together to create an original piece of work. You get to work with people you collaborate best with and bring in new people when it feels right.
