“Come on, Shino, are you really mad at me?” He pouted slightly.
“No. I’m thinking about how your feet are stinking up this entire room.”
Kiba blinked before letting out a laugh, glad Shino wasn’t so mad at him that he couldn’t crack a joke. He reached out and jabbed his finger into his best friend’s side, digging it in a bit. “Ha! Very funny. These are clean socks, ‘cause I knew I’d have my feet out today.” He stuck his tongue out at him.
Shino leaned away slightly, wincing a bit at his jabbing. “The fact you wouldn’t be wearing clean socks otherwise says a lot about you, Kiba.”
He waved his hand dismissively, already over it. “Anyway, it’s time to teach you to skate. First, though, you gotta lace this shit properly or you’re gonna fall and crack your skull open. Trust me, I’ve seen it.” He got down on his knees on the floor, tightening Shino’s shoe laces. He grabbed a hold of his ankle when he was done, testing the tightness of the laces and also the wheels of the skate, pretending to know what he was talking about when he really only vaguely did. When he glanced up he didn’t miss the redness at the tips of Shino’s ears or dusting his cheeks, mostly obscured by his glasses.

Alright this took longer to write than I thought but I got very busy
Kiba darted through the woods, sniffing the air again to ensure he still had Shino’s scent. Anyone else would have lost his trail quickly, especially with the delay between their departures. Even among his clan, they would need some kind of reference to follow his scent, but Kiba knew it well. From years of working together, he could easily pick it out of dozens of others without thinking too much.
He slowed as it grew stronger, stopping beneath a tree he knew his friend hid at the top of. Shino had disappeared earlier as they headed off to meet up with their friends, claiming he ‘just didn’t feel like going’. To most, Shino deciding to skip out on a social gathering might seem normal since he wasn’t really known for being extroverted, but just like with tracking his scent, Kiba knew better. Something was off tonight. He normally liked hanging out with their friends even if he didn’t talk much. Besides, if he didn’t want to go, he would’ve said so from the start.
Kiba leapt up the tree, landing on a branch beside his teammate. Shino didn’t seem startled by his appearance, his insects likely having alerted him of his approach. At least he hadn’t tried to leave. He was sitting there, looking off into the trees, a few of his insects crawling around the branches and across his clothing. The hood that normally obscured his hair and most of his face was down, a gentle breeze rustling through it. The moon reflected off his dark glasses. He looked kind of pretty there, and if he hadn’t needed to talk to him, Kiba probably would have just watched for a bit.
“What do you want, Kiba?” Shino asked, breaking the silence. He didn’t look at him, though, just continued staring off into the trees.
