the fact that smeyer had bree, a character who DIED while accepting that she would probably be abused in exchange of one (1) single burger, as a main protag in a newborn focused book, and STILL she didn't explore what newborn bloodlust was like fucking BAFFLES me. i know.. what can we expect from the mormon, right? BUT OH MY GOD. bree was willing to give up her body for a burger!! she couldn't handle being starved while alive (and homeless)!! you think she'd resist hunger as a vampire???!
