THE HUNGER GAMES: CHAPTER 9 & 10
To me, these are the chapters where I really wonder how much strategy was thought out between the mentors, the stylists and Peeta. Katniss seemed to always be left in the dark throughout the books by choice. Why would they or SC choose that as the best method of dealing with her?
A piece in their games. Peeta’s one desire is to remain himself throughout the Games. He’s still willing to kill if he needs to, but didn’t want to be changed by the Capitol. Do you think that this is even a possibility when being forced into this situation?
SC is so deliberate with her choice of words and symbols. Twice in these two chapters roses are mentioned. Once as a soup that Katniss eats and the second time Peeta asks Caesar if he smells like them. Do you think that has any symbolic meaning?

WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE SMELL LIKE?
Arryn uses tones of citrus and wood, and tends to use men’s deodorant because of the scent pallet. Floral scents are a big turn off for her, somewhat sensitive to it. So more moody smells are her thing. Sometimes she smells of cigarettes, time depending, and of course post crazy night she will wash up with oat based soaps that are gentle on her reactive skin.
WHAT DO YOUR MUSE’S HANDS FEEL LIKE?
uneven, patchy, dry and scarred. A burn hole or three litter the back of her hands, the palms worn till they are soft again, as if sandblasted. Warmth radiates from her touch.
WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE USUALLY EAT IN A DAY?
Soup, of course, her favourite meal. Usually she sneaks snacks all throughout the day. Proteins bars, chips, ect. At night she cooks a serious meal and uses left overs for lunch the next day.
DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE A GOOD SINGING VOICE?
It matters, Arryn tends to sing horribly as a joke. More frequently then not she will reverberate her voice, waver any carried note like a child in the hopes of a laugh. With a gun to her head, she has an average voice. Her raspy quality is suitable for certain genres, basically.
DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE ANY BAD HABITS OR NERVOUS TICKS?
Many! Gambling, drinking, retail therapy, smoking. As for nervous ticks, this is the extremes. She has a nervous stomach, so under high stress she has a tendency to get really sick, she picks at scabs and injuries. On the low scale of things, she rubs her thumb on the soft part of her chin as a calming method, and can do so pretty casually.
WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE USUALLY LOOK LIKE / WEAR?
Swinging violently back and forth between edgy club clothes and none at all. This woman hates clothes. Verse dependent, she has taken to using bed sheeting to make herself clothes by shredding and tying them intricately, somewhat reminiscent of her edgier days.
IS YOUR MUSE AFFECTIONATE? HOW SO?
It really depends on who. She is very touchy, she loves holding arms and hanging on others, leaning on them, sitting on ones lap she knows no bounds unless they are set. If you set her free she will not let go.
WHAT POSITION DOES YOUR MUSE SLEEP IN?
Curled up in a ball. Unless she is bunking with another, then she is attached to them. Despite being a littler furnace herself, she loves leaching off of others in their sleep.
COULD YOU HEAR YOUR MUSE IN THE HALLWAY FROM ANOTHER ROOM?
Depends. She can be quiet when she wants to be, but more often then not she is a fumbling, loud, mess. Even when she thinks she is alone she isn't shy from slamming doors and stomping around just for the hell of it. Sometimes it gets some of the fumes out, but usually it's just to hear something rather then being alone.

Zane wasn't an overly observant person by nature, choosing to keep to himself more than anything. But he also wasn't dumb, so it wasn't hard to miss the fact that he didn't really need to bother asking such a useless question to his friend. Rhys wasn't okay. Nothing about the energy he gave off felt right, felt steady or healthy. But Zane understood that he couldn't just ask him why or what happened to cause such a mood. Maybe nothing happened. He knew that more than anyone that darkness didn't need to have a reason. Although looking at Rhys made him uncomfortable in the sense that he felt utterly useless, not for the first time in his life and certainly not for the last time either.
It was interesting, really, that Zane had even become friends with somebody like Rhys in the first place. A person that he understood despite not understanding anything at all. Their paths weren't anything alike, not where they came from or what their traumas were. But did that really matter? They had a far different dynamic than anyone else in Zane's life. In a way, sometimes, he felt that they needed each other, although he would never dare say something so corny out loud.
When he was in a rut, just not sitting alone in silence was enough. Forcing himself to see Rhys could make all of the difference. So he would always extend the same courtesy to the other, making himself available even if Rhys didn't want to talk about it.
So there they sat, both completely silent. Zane rubbed the back of his neck, wondering if Rhys needed him to push. "What can I do for you?" he mumbled softly, his gaze locked onto Rhys and never straying for even a moment.
