Arcana Theory - Julian Route

Alright so if y’all are up to date with Julian’s route (chapter xiii) then you know Julian was hung and survived and everything’s better than expected. But this isn’t the first time he’s survived a hanging.

If you recall chapter vii, Julian and the MC somehow manage to get backstage in a theatre (seriously where are like the rest of the actors and the people who work there who let this happen fuckin two horny assholes backstage in a theatre?? With Julian’s kinks????what a mistake) where they find a Venetian plague mask.

This is alluding to the upcoming masquerade.mp3 in (probably?? Hopefully???) the next book. After putting it on and doing some weird role play or whatever and giving hickies, Julian’s ankle gets caught in a rope.

This is alluding to his hanging. In addition to that, traditionally The Hanged Man is portrayed hanging upside down by the ankle. But as we all know, he is able to cut himself down from that rope to fall onto Community Theatre Lucio, just like how he survived the hanging for realsies. Now of course, all the mains are going to be at the masquerade, where Julian will definitely need to wear a mask cause he’s “dead.”

So now we have Julian in a mask after being hung face to face with Lucio. Anyways, they duke it out on stage (also major props to CT Lucio for keeping it together through that like??? Id fuckin panic I hate improv) but the important part is what Julian says before he kills CT Lucio.

Now if you remember (I’m sure all our wounds from chapter xiii are still fresh so there should be no problem with that,) Julian expresses to The Hanged Man how upset he is that he wasn’t the one to kill Lucio. He felt he was worthless because he was the plague doctor who couldn’t stop the plague.

But now he has a chance. Lucio is coming back plague and all and Julian knows this is his opportunity to redeem himself in everyone’s eyes, especially the MC who he feels he let die. So if my theory pans out, Julian will kill Lucio the night of the masquerade and MC will bring him the wobbly sword to kill him with.
