A month ago, I was anticipating a really tough day. I was coordinating a big meeting with the senior collective of area Black catholic parishioners. I adore them- lots of amazing discussions with a community that can impact the world. But I was just told I couldn’t give them the tablets I had promised. I was determined to give them the best information available in spite of the obstacles. They have to know we won’t be stopped! It just happened to fall on anniversary that brought me here.
10 years ago, the wasband walked out with a text message saying couldn’t go further and what washed in were opportunities I never imagined. I became a professor. I became a SME in Behavioral Change and specialized in geriatric public health. The lady who reluctantly relied on a partner to fix her phone now teaches digital literacy.
I walked out with blessings and applause today.
And found my favorite little treat dropped a new goody at Wegman’s.
Because it’s a the little jars of sunshine that remind me I’m exactly what I’m supposed to be.
