Got to the scene that made social media bully the Go For It Nakamura mangaka off of X, and...that was it? It was even more of a nothingburger than I expected. Not only was it platonic but any "flirting" all came from a student to the teacher, NOT the teacher to the student.

See, the problem stems from how the offenders in this incident didn't know about Nakamura but heard "depiction of teacher/student relations" and immediately went into attack mode, bursting into the replies and DMs like a veritable SWAT team.

If any of them took the time to slow their roll, look at the facts and take time to look into what the baseline context even is, we wouldn't be having this conversation. but that's not what they've been conditioned for.

They see themselves as cops who have to jump into their car and speed into the scene of the crime to stop it before more harm can be caused. They shoot first and ask questions later, always thinking there's a bomb about to go off that'll turn everyone into pedophiles.

I blame IRL politics bleeding into fandom spaces via Twitter and the like because seeing so many rich assholes destroying lives hurt emotionally because we can't be there to do anything about it. They target smaller marks like creators thinking it's because they hold power over others when really... they just want to play pretend as a hero.

You gotta hand it to the powers that be. They couldn't have asked for a better way to make us fight amongst ourselves.
