A lovely Discord friend of mine is grieving right now. His mother suddenly passed away this week.

He told me once that his mother's body sometimes flashes in his eyes, still quite fresh in his memory—which has caused him to have sleepless nights. Currently, he's being taken care of by his aunt and grandma—but they need at least 6000 dollars for funeral expenses and also support for my friend and his brother. So I ask ya'll, if you have the time and money—to lighten my friend's emotional load and donate.

I start to think in English more and more. I listen to English songs and watch shows in English and I read fanfiction in English and almost all of the media I see is in English and I talk to myself in English more and more often even though I still live in my home country.

I’m scared. I don’t want to forget my native language. What if one day I won’t be able to write in it the way I used to.

This is the same me who once felt like my mother tongue was the only language worthy of reading or writing fiction in for me.

The Defenders comic in the 80s ends super unhappily. All of the defenders besides Beast, Angel and Iceman die. On top of that, some of the comics prior to the birth of the "New Defenders" line-up are really sad. All of the founding Defenders lost a love during the 60s, 70s and 80s. Clea, Jarella, Dorma and Shalla-Bal...I don't like this trend of depression and darkness in the stories. So I'm this close to digging up a years old defenders comic book revival within my notes app and editing it so it can more accurately reflect what my dream happy ending for this team looks like.

I think I'm actually considering going into my post archives to find my old posts where I shared this defenders stuff, and then I'd just manually edit those posts so it can work as a baseline for my revisions. I'm not confident I'll actually do this, because I still think comics as a hyperfixation might slowly be drawing to an end. But I wanted to share this post idea anyways, because I need to make it clear that I think I can improve on my old concepts and fix the story of all these characters while ignoring everything written after the early to mid 80s. I want to revive all the dead defenders, bring back the four lost loves of the defenders (clea, jarella, dorma and shalla-bal), set up a dynamic conflict involving all the defenders from across the years and maybe restore beast to how he looked in the 60s. Or at least I'd experiment with that last one.

If I can't bring myself to actually make something of this idea, I freely give permission to other people to attempt to make a variant on the idea for me. If you don't want to read all the comics, you can always just read the wiki entries on some of the old defenders comics. That's all I did when I did this years ago, I think.
