“He deserved to die. If I had to make the choice all over again, I would still kill him. But I would do it quietly. So that no one knew it was me. I miss my family. I would not miss infamy.”

ORIGINS
The Thisians trace their roots to Yixin, a small, volcanic archipelago north of Varathon. The Yixinese defeated and rooted out the tribesman of modern day Thisia and settled the county. Since, they have bred very little with outsiders in an attempt to preserve their cultural and language. They are one of the few peoples who have not adopted the Drakonic Alphabet.
CULTURE AND LIFESTYLE
The Thisians are a reclusive people, isolated in many ways by their contrasting culture. They are often quiet and collected, regularly viewed as outlandish and strange by the rest of Anea due to how little their culture has changed since the Yixinese first joined the Drakonic Empire. Thisians are a typically humble people, placing a high value on personal honor. As such, their courts are typically honest and straightforward. They typically loathe becoming involved in the courts of other regions. The Thisian economy is largely agrarian, due to the many food plains and vast fields that cover the majority of the county; the majority of the grain in Anea comes form Thisia, particularly rice, barley, and wheat. Thisian harvests have been known to support the entire continent during famines. There is a fairly strong maritime trade located along the coast, with a particular emphasis placed upon shrimping and crabbing. Some of the most skilled artisans in Anea are Thisian, due to the intricate nature of Thisian architecture and craftsmanship.
FASHION
In Thisia, garments are made of fine, light fabrics. During formal events and at court, clothing is primarily silk, but for every day use, cotton is common. Formal wear consists of solid dark backgrounds, with elaborate designs or patterns and bright, eye-catching colors such as red, white, and yellow. They are often layered with a solid color underneath. The layered pieces often have modest, v-shaped necklines. For formal events, make up is common to highlight features, and women wear elaborate hair styles and hair pieces, often in the shapes of flowers.
