Rest in Peace, Thor McElroy the Good Warlock.
The Huckleberry-McElroy Siblings
I opened my game hoping to put together a photo that echoes the first images of the generation three round. I did that, then I couldn’t stop. Prepare to see more posed pictures this morning.
Meet the spares - McElroy
Not biologically related to legacy founder Duncan Huckleberry, but with a special place in our hearst nonetheless, the McElroy children are treasured parts of this legacy now (at least by me) and it seems only fair that they get a proper send off too.
Oldest adopted child of Odin and Penelope, Helena is comeback queen and artistic prodigy who’s love for games can only be challenged by her hatred for little sister Libby. Where this hatred came from is anyone’s guess, but Helena’s sharp tongue will always be ready for anyone that crosses her path.
Biggest family sim who’s not actually a family sim my game has ever seen, Bruno will shirk any and all responsibilities if there is a baby in need of a cuddle. A little neurotic coming from arriving at the Huckleberry household in a whirlwind of chaos, he’s a sad and tortured little soul who really just needs a hug.
Libby is a good person through and through. She is. Right? Honestly her neuroses about what goodness is and how to be good is probably the thing about her that drives people away - espescially older sister Helena who she is constantly butting heads with. Despite her desire to be the life and soul of the party, she’s more at home with her head in a book and maybe, deep down, she has no idea what she really wants.
Jenny McElroy will steal your girl. She will, there’s no doubt about it. Her first crush was her sisters girlfriend, but after she aged up her attentions turned to her cousin’s girlfriend, and soon after she was heartfarting almost every pretty girl to look her way. She lives for the thrill and has np trouble making friends - charming to a fault but what will happen if she gets caught?
Youngest McElroy and little treasure, if Thor had his way he would be playing chess approximately 90% of the time. Everyone loves him, and he’s too absent-minded to notice that he only loses most of his games because the other sim will usually cheat. Even if he did notice though, would he do anything? Probably not, just smile and challenge them again, vowing to himself that this time, he will be chess master victorious.

I called Griffin at work and told him nobody was answering the phone.
He said not to worry, Uncle Thor was there and the baby was due, so there wasn’t anything to fret about.
It took me a while, but I finally convinced him to go home and check on them.
Not that I cared much about Romana, which sounds heartless, but it’s true. Mostly I was worried about our Uncle, and I figured that Griffin must be worried about Romana, if nobody else.
He called me back a while later. Uncle Thor and Romana had both gone with the Watcher, and the dogs were babysitting.
My heart is broken about Uncle Thor, and I can’t believe that Griffin seemed fine with the dogs babysitting!!! He didn’t want to talk to me, and I guess he did have a lot of things to take care of, so I hung up, thinking that I’d better let Mom know what was going on.
All Uncle Thor had to say when I called is that he was busy with birthdays.
Snowball is an old man, he says, and the puppies are all grown.
He said Griffin gave them each a different colored collar, because otherwise they can’t tell them apart.
It surprised him, “since their mom is a tiny white dog and their dad is a large black wolf.”
I guess he was maybe expecting they’d all be gray and middle-sized?
Atticus is, well, not doing as well as I’d like.
I saw the three of them (Kitty, Sienna, and Atticus) at Alec’s birthday party today. Gideon, Griffin, and a few others were there.
I refuse to comment on anything I heard or say from dearest brother, the dorkiest of dorks, while there.
Alec’s taking his aging well, and we had a good time. We usually do over there.
Uncle Thor took the day off of work. He said he was too stressed to go in, and so he didn’t.
He said he’d had a great day playing with his pack,
and discussing politics with the birds,
and was looking forward to meeting friends later tonight.
He’s the only sibling my mom has left, and I love him, but I just don’t understand him sometimes.
The best part of the party, really, was getting to see cousins interacting. Gideon had invited Uncle Thor, Mom’s nieces and nephews, and Alec’s kids, so it was a small gathering, but a really good one.
I mean, look me in the face and tell me that baby cousins playing together isn’t the cutest thing you’ve ever seen, or that you don’t enjoy hanging out with the people you’ve known your whole life.
Or that seeing old siblings revisit their favorite games isn’t the sweetest!
Nope, family reunions are the best. You agree, or you’re wrong.
