“thrask works as a character because he shows how trapped everyone is in da2’s templar/mage mess. he wants peace, he wants rules that don’t crush people, so he does the most kirkwall thing imaginable and ends up tied to a conspiracy that kidnaps someone close to hawke to force a confrontation. it’s messy and it’s hard to defend, but it also tracks with the setting: nobody in that city gets clean options, they just get corners and panic. and then the fact his “big move” ends with grace murdering him anyway is such a bleak punchline, like the game saying “you tried to be moderate in kirkwall? here’s your reward.””

“He was my first romance in Veil Guard, so I'm biased. He initially comes across as a badass, sexy assassin, which is already hot, but then turns out to be a sweet, shy boy who likes coffee and wyverns, which is so endearing to me.”
