Wren had no idea what was going through Diana’s mind. When he had seen her name pop up on his phone, he had smiled at his phone, an automatic reaction that he had every time. The conversation had definelty gone in a direction that he wasn’t expecting. He felt annoyed, wondering how she could so casually tell him she was walking away from everything. But more than that, he felt a pit in his stomach at the thought of her leaving. Of her saying they would no longer be friends. He knew he was missing something, and he wouldn’t leave her alone until he got to the bottom of it. He threw on a pair of jeans as he sent her a final text. He wasn’t certain which bar she was in, but he could guess from her mention of cocktails. It was a few minutes walk from the hotel, and the fresh air helped him to clear his head a little. A wave of sadness washed over him as he walked, and he swallowed hard. This was something he had been worried about when they first started sleeping together. He didn’t want to lose her. But they had both been on the same page. He’d repressed plenty of feelings to try and ensure that their friendship would survive. Maybe it had been naive of him. Walking into the bar, he couldn’t help the smile that played on his face as he spotted her at the other end of the bar. Signalling the bartender on his way over, he ordered himself a beer. He thought he might need it. Taking a deep breath, he strode over, standing over Diana with an eyebrow raised. “So, are we going to talk about this like adults or what?” He questioned, his tone laced with annoyance.
