abel's birthday had never been a significant day for him. for him, it was just another day and most of the people in his life had treated him as just that but scout was different. in every way, scout was amazing and she made sure she made him feel special on a day where he was just another year older. grinning at the blonde as she belted happy birthday and placed a ridiculous birthday hat on the top of his head, he gazed at her with the utmost love in his eyes. "am i supposed to make a wish now?" he asked, cocking his head to one side as he looked between her and the cake.

abel wouldn’t normally be the guy to wait outside. a lot of people thought his lack of attempt to smile was weird and his quietness didn’t help his reputation. regardless of what other people thought, scout still managed to befriend him and well, today was the day he was going to ask her to join him for dinner. he’d been trying to do it for weeks, grow enough confidence to take the plunge, but it wasn’t easy for a guy like him. dating never worked out and he wasn’t as attractive as other guys that could score any girl they wanted. “...scout, hi.” he finally spit out once she walked out of the nursing home. “are you...in a hurry?”

Abel spent the majority of his time with the blonde and he had to admit, he didn’t hate it. He often worried, as his ex girlfriend did, that she would get tired of him and that things would stop going as well as they were. That didn’t seem to be the case though and she seemed to love spending time with him just as much as he loved spending time with her. So, since it was summer time, he decided to surprise her with a trip. Letting himself into her place, he made his way through before his eyes finally landed on her. “Hey beautiful. I have a surprise for you but first,” he pecked her lips, “how was your day?”
