Nick and June + moments of Tenderness
i'm getting to that point where i'm obsessed with a series and i desperately want to read fanfiction but there's like 3 and a half more seasons plus a sequel/spin off(?) so i'm avoiding spoilers like neo
Holy Fricken HELL Yall I am so sick of June wtff!!! EYES ASK HER TO IDENTIFY HER HUSBAND
Who is SAFE in canada and what does she do? NAMES HIM????? TF YOU DOING LADY?? He's gonna get killed, they're gonna assasinate him and steal the baby back or kill bunch of people trying damn june I am once again disappointed at you (that and how FRICKEN SLOW she always is when shit gets real and she's gotta MOVE but she's instead dramatically walking and crouching and pausing and taking her damn tine like lady PROCESS AFTER YOU GET OUT)
Im tired yall theres 5 seasons?? She's had so many chances im so amazed she's still got all her fingers and eyeballs goddamn goddamn
I've never wanted to punch a man so bad in my life
i get that nick was a beloved character in the fandom but i am genuinely shocked that so many people are just excusing his actions even without context and saying he's done nothing wrong. he has done something wrong. he was part of the crusade to build a society that subjugates women. if you don't want to immediately write him off and think he can be redeemed/forgiven, okay, but flat out denying his part in helping create gilead is kind of horrifying.
Handmaids Tale S3
I just finished the season and I have some thoughts lol
-I was frustrated with June at the start of the season as she seemed to be quite selfish but after the hospital scenes that changed, I'm glad she realised it's not a her problem but everyone needs help
-serena was soo frustrating there were so many moments early in when she could have teamed up with June but no she genuinely does not care unless things directly affect her, she doesn't want Nicole she just wants a child
-Commander Waterford is my love/hate villain due to how well he plays this role and how much of a prick he is
-it was nice to get a back story on Aunt Lydia I thought she would sympathise more with the handmaids but no she's way too set in the regime i feel like
-Commander Lawrence I also loved & hated throughout due to his nonchalant behaviour towards things he created!? like all of this was his idea and now he just wants to stay holed up in his big ass house. I did feel like he slightly redeemed himself during the last few episodes
-his wife omggg Mrs Lawerence was so sweet I get so bad for her and her ending was heartbreaking but I get it, she was too much of a liability and I don't think she'd ever be able to be normal again
-the handmaids and marthas working together was so empowering i was in tears!?!? they really stole the whole season for me I was a mess during the last episode it was so tense and beautiful
-Lastly where the fuck was Nick this whole season, it was never resolved!?! he was just stationed somewhere else as like the leader and that's it we never see him again. I was really hoping that he would help June at the end but no absolutely no contribution from him this season i'm so disappointed especially after how their relationship progressed last season
Serena: *sets the house on fire*
Me: about time.
Me: would have been better if Fred would have been in it but I guess that’s a start.
