baby Maven Calore headcanons . . . :)
a few ideas i had for Maven when he was a little kid. . . im feeling super productive today so i might pump a few of these out !
He wasn't very social as a kid at first. I like to think that he far preferred avoiding big events as much as he could - but he rarely ever got away with it without Elara finding out and getting angry with him. It's not that he wasn't very good with words - he was born quite charming - but it's just that he didn't like using them. Definitely an introvert as a kid before becoming an ambivert as he grew older. (courtesy of Elara)
Playing into the fact that he was his brothers "shadow", people would often refer to him as "Cal's brother." Not Maven. Just "Cal's brother." It was one of the most annoying things to him. When he and his brother trained and did well in class and the teacher would tell the rest of the class to "be more like Cal and his brother." Not Cal and Maven. It was dehumanizing for him.
Collector. For some reason I REALLY picture him enjoying collecting as a hobby. All sorts of things - his favourite books, toys, figures, the lot of it. He had shelves in his room where he'd put it all up and dust them off himself, refusing to let anybody else touch them, because they didn't know how to handle them.
Would BEG Elara to let him go to Hexaprin theatre basically every damn day. He loved watching plays, operas, musicals, etc. and would KILL to get a good seat. Whenever they left Archeon for a while, he'd spend his time checking what would be showing when he got back so that he could see it.
Definitely was the type of kid to be silent until you mentioned an interest of his. He'd light up like a firework and talk endlessly about it. Cal used to find it cute but also really annoying sometimes.
Maven tried to copy Cal sometimes in hopes it'd grab his dad's attention, (it never worked), hoping that he'd pay more attention to him in the future. The most he ever really got out of it was a 'good job'. He once got a high five from his dad after a really good day in class, and he was pretty much buzzing with excitement the rest of the day. When Elara cut out his ability to love his father and brother, the memory of that day turned into something sour. ugh he KILLS me they ALL kill me
