I'm re-reading King's Cage and one thing I love about my girl Mare Barrow is that she has no clue when to shut her mouth. She's just out her giving the most diabolical roasts known to man and I absolutely love her for it

some of yall need to hear this!!
I promised, so here. Maybe these will bring you joy when they don't to me
Only scene I care about bc Evangeline looks amazing in it:
The first arena scene:
The scene she falls into the grid WHICH WE ALREADY HAVE TWO THINGS OF OFFICIAL ART FOR IN TWO OTHER EDITIONS--
Scene she's introduced to court:
Gorgeous one of Marecal dancing which might be the best on a pure visual level but has no mareven equivalent bc GODDAMIT I CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS
Oh look, Maven's chopped again. Good for him
Aaaaand another goddamn action scene. Thanka I hate it
Evangeline embodying the RQ fans during the Marecal VS. Mareven Shipping Wars in the late 2010s.
I'm not going to ask which ship you like more, but WHICH shipper did you guys get in heated debates with? (And feel free to share your stories in the comments)
Marecal (The Official Couple, the "Thief/Obviously" ship, the Heir x Rebel)
Mareven ("It's the only way you'll stay with me") dark love story (not romance)
Eve sketches WIP
I'm sending this into the RQ fandom waters
I've had this idea to redesign RQ characters based on diferent cultures over the world
First one is Eve, inspired by japanese samurai culture mostly due to bushido code, where the katana is seen as an extension of the samurai himself. It is also a symbol of the samurai's honor and status. A samurai without his katana was considered incomplete, and losing his katana was a great shame.
thinking about how evangeline put up a cold front throughout her life so that she would be impenetrable and knew only the conditional love her parents showed for her accomplishments (aside from tolly, who didn't openly display affection but was one of the few people who truly cared about her as a person), meeting elane, who saw her heart and not only accepted her, but loved her for who she was after seeing the imperfections and fears she tried so hard to hide.
elane, who similarly was valued only for the potential of a marriage alliance that would get her family further into the web of silver connections and power, who saw all the false fronts put up by the silver elites and ached for something real, meeting evangeline, who saw her as much more than a bargaining chip and would tear the world apart for a future where they could be free to be who they are, cherished as people rather than the power they held. a girl who was still learning how to love and live after everything she'd been taught, but was willing to put aside her crown for a future with her
Dress to Impress with Gisa vs Evangeline vs Maven has the power to potentially end the world.
