Hey! I decided to write for Hazbin today; specifically Abel. I think he’s so cute! I liked the headcanons people had of Adam having ticklish wings so I figured I’d give them to Abel too. I don’t know if a fic like this has been written already; but here’s mine:
TICKLISH ABEL YAYYY (ALSO THIS IS NOTTTT A SHIP I DONT SHIP THESE 2 THIS IS JS A PLATONIC FRIENDSHIP AND WILL BE ADDRESSED AS SUCH!!!) (this is lee abel ler emily!)
Sorry if it looks wonky or something I originally wrote this on Google Docs then transferred it to my notes app the decided to put it on my tumblr 🥲
also by the way- we discuss certain parts of Abel’s wings being touched in this fic so here’s a little diagram for reference:
“Preening”
Summary: Emily wants to groom Abel’s wings after the ordeal and she soon discovers something about him (I hope I got the storyline correct?? There’s some details I don’t rlly remember from the end of season 2 sorryyy)
After Vox previously almost destroying both hell and heaven, it definitely took a lot to clean up after him.
Thankfully, both realms were restored (though they only had minor damages) and all the inhabitants were okay, and alive…in which Emily couldn’t have been happier that one of her best friends, Charlie, continued her dream of running the Hazbin Hotel, and without Vox being a petty little piece of shit and trying to ruin it (for now).
Emily was living happily in heaven, surrounded by some of her BEST friends, being Adam’s son, Abel, St. Peter, her big sister, Sera, and Sir Pentious- who had joined heaven recently, all thanks to being redeemed through Charlie’s hotel.
Heaven was usually never boring, the angels always had new ways to entertain themselves, and always were typically occupied with something to do.
For example:
St. Peter was busy guarding the pearly gates of heaven.
Sir Pentious was playing with the NEW golden egg bois, which had brought him SO much joy after Emily made them for him, since he couldn’t really see his other ones who were alive, but living in hell.
Sera was doing her usual work- reading over and signing paperwork to maintain further order and enforce peace between the realms- she was even more driven to watch over and protect heaven, after what Vox did (or tried to do, seeing as he was unsuccessful). Emily wanted so badly to pester and mess around with her big sister right now, but she knew how Sera could get when she was really focused.
It was best to let her be for now, until she was done.
Emily still had thousands of others in heaven to interact with.
So, she decided that today, she’d spend the day with one of the best angels she knew- ABEL!
They had such a good friendship- often dancing around the clouds together, watching the stars, flying all around heaven, playing little games, and singing.
Emily began searching for her friend.
Which took no more than 5 seconds.
“HI ABEL!” She beamed, flying right into the blonde’s room, causing him to jump and shriek at her sudden, abrupt, and unannounced presence.
“EMILY! Gosh, you scared me!” But nonetheless, Abel sprang right up out of his seat and rushed to greet her with a hug. “How have you been after the whole…ordeal??”
“I’ve been just fine, Abel! My sister Sera’s been so wound up, but it’s over now, so I don’t think she should worry anymore!” Emily chuckled, taking in the sight of her friend, noticing something about him- his wings were slightly misaligned.
“Uh, Abel?”
“Yeah?”
“When’s the last time you preened your wings?”
“Uh, I don’t know. I don’t think I have since the situation. I just thought they’d fix themselves eventually.”
“IT’S BEEN THAT LONG?!!” Emily’s eyes widened. She was exaggerating just a bit- the Vox incident wasn’t even that long ago at all.
“Uh, yeah?” Abel raised an eyebrow.
“You realize after, like, big surges of energy, like, um…almost reality-ending ones…wings sometimes need a bit of some help resetting.” Emily smiled sympathetically.
“I don’t get it.” Abel said. “What’re you saying…?”
Emily spoke, somewhat reassuringly. “I’m not saying anything serious! Just proposing some manual preening- y’know, so they don’t itch or shed later.”
“Manual?” Abel questioned.
Emily clapped her hands together and grinned, almost as if she was getting excited to help him out. “I can do it for you! I’ve helped tons of angels with this. It’ll be relaxing, I promise!!”
“Well, okay!”
Emily guided Abel to sit down on a chair, gently unfolding one of his wings to extend it. Abel sat patiently, waiting for Emily to work her magic.
At first, Abel remained unbothered and didn't think much of the situation- that was until Emily brushed her fingers against the edge of his wing, where the coverts were.
That was when Abel realized that he maybe should’ve asked her more questions before she began this process…
“Okay- no biggie…that’s just…one spot.” Abel thought…trying to gaslight himself into thinking it wouldn’t turn him into a squirmy mess…
He was wrong.
Emily carefully began prodding the next set of feathers below- the primary coverts. And she was very intricate with it too…delicate like an angel, she made sure to really get in between the areas where the feathers met the bone of Abel’s golden wings.
Abel literally couldn’t hold his wings still- they began twitching like CRAZY. Abel covered his mouth with his hand, just in case he let out a snort…
The twitches of his wings caught Emily by surprise.
“Something wrong?”
Abel snapped his head up, his eyes meeting Emily’s. “What? No, no! Just, can’t keep them still when they’re being held out for long periods of time, y’know?”
“Ah, gotcha! I can help with that!” Emily then casted a small forcefield of magic around Abel’s wing- holding the wing up still…and Abel couldn’t bring it down. Abel, now fully aware of this, widened his eyes and looked right back down to avoid Emily’s gaze. He really wasn’t surviving this now.
Emily went back in, running her fingers through the soft feathers of Abel’s wings. This really did it for Abel, and he began to eagerly tap his foot and his other wing began twitching.
This didn’t go unnoticed by Emily either…
“Abel, is there something you’re not telling me???!” Emily asked again.
“No, I want you to continue!!” Abel bit his lip and shut his eyes.
“If you want me to continue, then why are you shivering so much!?”
“Because-!”
“Abel, don’t lie! Angels can’t lie!” Emily smirked, seeing her friend’s flushed response. She began scratching her nails harder into the feathers of his wings.
Abel burst into giggles, flapping his other wing furiously. “It tickles, Emily!!!”
“HA! I knew it!” Emily laughed triumphantly. “Okay, okay. Seriously, though, Abel! I can’t let you go around with your wings all messy!! Just let me continue, I’ll actually be gentle this time.”
“But that’ll make it worse!!”
“Uh- well…I’ll try my best so it won’t be!”
“Fine…”
The female continued to preen his wings, now moving dangerously close to the scapulars…which was only inches away from the pits of Abel’s wings. And this was the most sensitive spot on just about any angel…Abel began twitching just like he did before.
Emily just rolled her eyes playfully. “Alright, hold still…you can’t expect your feathers to fix themselves if you keep twitching like that!”
“I am not twitching!” Abel protested immediately, his wings flaring and shaking on instinct before he could even stop them. “You’re literally trying to get into the worst spots!”
“Worst spots? Oh? Worst as in ruffled up, or worst as in ticklish?” Emily teased.
“Emily.” Abel shot her a glare, still fighting back his own laughter. His face was tinged pink.
“I think that’s a yes to the second option!” Emily said, cheerfully. Emily was loving this. And she could tell Abel was having fun, too. After all, angels do get very picky about who is allowed to touch their wings and who isn’t.
Emily scooted closer, her tone gentle and sing songy as she resumed the grooming, her fingers entering the area right where the wing met Abel’s lower back.
Abel would’ve died right there.
“AH! EMILY!”
“What? I just need to make sure I get every spot…” Emily paused her fingers right in the area.
“Oh!….Emily….” Abel was sent in a slight panic, he knew this was going to tickle.
The other angel only smiled…mischievously, too. When Abel caught this, Emily switched tactics, using feather-light strokes now.
“Y’know, I think I know a good spot that’ll really ruffle your feathers…”
Emily’s fingertips were now scribbling mercilessly into Abel’s wing-pits.
And Abel lost his composure completely. He burst into giggles, flapping his wings eagerly and trying to squirm away from Emily. Emily only giggled along with him, finding immense joy in her ability to get the boy to laugh this much, she made sure to squeeze at his sides while also attacking his wing-pits, and Abel was in pure enlightenment.
Emily knew he could be sensitive, but to be at this level of ticklishness and to be the new ‘leader of the executioners’?
Oh, he wouldn’t last at all.
The ENDD
