Tidbits from Iris - pt 16

Believe it or not, but most of the crew are not good with fashion. Sure some can find a shirt and pants that go well, but most of the crew do NOT.

Like, if we allowed it, Zoro and Luffy would never bathe and they would wear the same clothes until it literally falls off of them. I know because it happened with Luffy when he was training with Rayleigh. I stayed with him for a while then left to go do some traveling for stuff I wanted to do and when I came back to let him know I made it back, his clothes were hanging together by thin threads and prayers. Literally.

Rayleigh actually looked ready to run for the hills when I whirled on him bc he was the responsible adult and could tell right away that Luffy didn't care for things like clean clothes or wearing stuff that is LITERALLY FALLING APART.

So, Nami and Yonji end up making themselves the unofficial fashion designers for the crew, which is funny bc Yonji IS a fashion designer.

Tidbits from Iris - pt 14

You wanna know the one friendship I didn't see coming?

Nami and Crocodile.

Idk how, but the two ended up hanging out with each other a lot. It concerned us at first bc Nami and Vivi are really close (😉😉😉😏😏😏). So, we all thought that she would hold a grudge against him for the rest of their lives, depending who died first and I'm pretty sure Nami would make sure that he died first.

Crocodile apparently appreciates how money oriented Nami is. It's led to them having extensive conversations about crew finances and make fun of the financial reports in the papers. He's also helped her improve her appraisal and haggling. And showed her how to find the underground markets and how to tell if there are secret pirate hangouts in towns. Apparently, most islands have hidden bars and secret markets set up by pirates and the criminal underground.

Its the most unusual friendship.

And its kinda terrifying when they work together.

Tidbits from Iris - pt 8

My reaction to finally meeting Paulie, which didn't happen until we returned to Water 7 after Ennies Lobby and saying goodbye to Merry. Just so you know, I was pretty much unconscious shortly after I boarded the Galley-La ship.

Paulie: *helping the Strawhats get up to disembark and accidentally wakes me up when he was helping hold me up so someone on the crew could carry me* oh, sorry about waking you

Me: .....Billy Ray Cyrus?

Paulie: *confused*

Strawhats: *choking on laughter*

Tidbits from Iris - pt 7

Sometime after we got the Going Merry, we started keeping a list of what we all thought the One Piece actually is. All entries were either put down as both serious and jokes. A few friends from other crews would add their hot takes later on.

The following things that have been theorized to be the One Piece (serious and not) (no I will not confirm if the actual One Piece is on it):

A literal mountain of treasure accumulated by Gold Roger - common belief

Zoro’s sense of direction - self explanatory

Sanji's left shoe - he threw it overboard accidentally one time. It had been meant for a pirate and he panicked bc we were caught off guard (for once he adamantly insists). It had not been recovered in time. We joked that it would find the One Piece before we do. Nami has an active betting pool for it.

Buggy's family heritage - so everyone could finally learn which side of the family he got his nose from. Rayleigh jokingly said it was probably from Roger since the man was a slut and it wasn't until his late 30s that he finally grew into his big ass nose.

Luffy’s common sense - if this has to be explained, then you need to go back and watch the anime again

The Land of Forgotten Toys - I had one too many drinks (bc I mistakenly drank a bunch of fruity drinks that I didn't realize had alcohol. Again.) And decided to tell stories, which included a bunch of Christmas stories. Luffy was both awed and sad about the weird toys and wanted to find them to recruit them to the crew. I didn't have the heart to tell them it wasn't real.

Law's coin collection - bc that bitch Teach destroyed his ship and despite best efforts much of the Heart Pirates's personal belongings were lost at sea, including both Law's coin collection and his Sora Warrior of the Sea collection and merch. Law personally added this to our list, while cursing Teach's name every way that he could.

Doflamingo's conscience - no one is sure who put this up. The night in question it had been added is a blur for everyone.

Crocodile's missing hand - Sanji added it at the request of Iva. Crocodile was not amused.

A poneglyph that explains the reason all of these existed and the world's real history before the World Govenrments takeover which led to the rewriting and censorship of history - Robin, but only bc she wanted a real, serious entry to hide among the silly ones. Don't worry, she actually helped argue in favor for eveything else that was added. She’s very convincing when she's an active participant in coverations/debates.

A rainbow bridge that leads to the moon.

Enel - bc he went to the moon on his weird gold ship, conquered it, then found the Rainbow bridge and stays there. Luffy hopes its true so he could kick his ass again and that we'll hopefully know how to extract Devil fruits bc I made the bad suggestion of saying that Nami should totally get his DF bc she'd go from Weather Witch (I call her this after Alabasta) to Sky Sorceress (I start calling her this after she gets Zeus) to Thunder Goddess. Nami is still on the fence about it, but us DF users have been slowly winning her over (Luffy has just been chanting "one of us" at her whenever the conversationcomes up again).

The jackass that kidnapped our precious flower Iris from her world and graciously gifted (read: lost) to us - Sanji put this up and asked that I make sure to write it out word for word. He mostly hopes that what brought me here is an actual person so that I could nut-punch them since that's what I've been saying that I would do whenever someone asks me what my goal is. There is apparently a long list of people who would like to be present when this happens bc they have some choice words. This list includes: the Strawhats, Heart Pirates, Kidd Pirates, Crocodile, Doflamingo (don't ask, I don't want him there), Shanks, Buggy, numerous Navy admirals and officers (probably to curse this individual for bringing such a headache to their world), Vivi, Perospero (bc he didn't like it when I called him a man-child), Judge (you'll figure it out one day), Caesar (to complain), and a bunch others idc to add (Iva: how rude!!)

The ancient Kingdom - Lilith added this one on behalf of all the Vegapunks.

Candy Mountain - I introduced Bonney to Charlie the Unicorn videos I had saved to my hard drive and Kuma hasn't forgiven me since (Iris: I'm sorry, Kuma!!! Kuma: *sitting there listening to Bonney quote Charlie the Unicorn videos and smiles* I forgive you (he actually does not))

Tidbits from Iris- pt 9

It is a regular occurrence that thr Strawhats will end up in a cuddle pile. Usually after intense battles, a lot of us get pretty shaken up about one thing or another. You know since some of us (*cough cough* the monster trio and certain individuals *cough cough*) nearly die (or did die in Luffy’s case).

Nami: gurl don't act like you haven't given us trauma from watching you get hurt or almost die

Iris: I plead the 5th

Nami: your laws have no power here!

ANYWAY!!! Often times, when things had been really intense, we'll end up spending a few days just... huddled up together. We usually all pile into the aquarium bar or the main deck of the Sunny, depending on the weather and where we are (to protect the more vulnerable).

Chopper really encourages this because Zoro actually spends more time resting when he's healing from injuries. Same with Sanji because we all pitch in and make simple stuff that can be made quickly in large quantities so even he can rest for more than 2 hours before needing to feed someone (Luffy) again.

Luffy just sees it as a reason for us to just have a massive sleepover.

We did this after Wano and it confused the shit about of both the Kidd Pirates and most of the Heart Pirates (not Law because we made him join in on them after Punk Hazard). The Heart Pirates actually joined in because Law did after Luffy and Zoro woke up. Just plopped down amongst us and conked out for 6 hours. Poor Bepo kept checking on him hourly to make sure he was still breathing. By hour 3, Law just forced Bepo to join him and that finally got the poor bear to relax.

Kidd wanted to make fun of Law and Luffy for it, but shut up when Killer just dropped next to me and just sighed like he could breathe (the two of us became pretty good friends after saving him and Kidd in Udon). Kidd and the rest of the crew joined in after and Kidd slept for like 12 hours straight. Apparently, he needed a nap too.

I also use this to my advantage by playing movies or TV shows from my world to help entertain a bit with some quiet time in between.

Movie nights also became frequent occurrences once I figured out how to get tech from my world to get along with the tech (and snails) from this world. The crew especially get a kick out of it when they learn the reference of whatever I quoted or mentioned in previous conversations.

Tidbits from Iris- pt 11

In the spirit of Christmas and other holidays, I will share so silly stuff that has happened whenever the time of year rolls around:

There is not 1, not 2, but 5 days of nonstop cookie making. My recipe book managed to make it to this world and has a bunch holiday recipes in it. Including several christmas cookies. Luffy insists that we make batches of ALL of them. He, Chopper, Usoop, and a few others like it when we do the sand-tarts, chocolates, and gingerbread because they like decorating. Zoro actually likes these peanut butter cookies called velvet's bc of the cinnamon candy that its decorated with. Franky just wants Sanii to make the cola cake I had a recipe for and just decorate it with frosting in holiday colors to make it festive.

The trees in the ship orchard amd on the main deck are used as christmas trees and always end up filled with homemade ornaments. We make them from either scrap material from the ship workshops or from little weird trinkets found from islands we've stopped at. Robin really likes making ornaments specifically from sea shells found on the shore. When Jinbei joined and learned about the holidays, he would often swim along the shore line with our other water based crew to find really pretty shells that haven't made it to shore yet for her.

Brook had me give him a Playlist of all the holiday music I had so he could listen to it. Afterwards, he'd start playing them whenever it was time for the holidays or when its snowy.

Nami gets a bit miffed at me when the holiday movies come out bc whenever we watch A Christmas Carol, everyone likes to call her Scrooge for how money hungry she is. When they watched the Grinch for the first time, Sanji pointed at the screen and said "Marimo! I didn't know you were in this movie?!" We had to take an early intermission bc Zoro would tackle Sanji and the two would fight as usual.

Zoro also likes the warm (spiked) ciders and egg nog since its not as sweet as the hot cocoa Sanji and I would make for the crew. Also, he likes whipped cream for the same reason. He'll spray it directly into his mouth, then run around the galley spraying it in everyone's mouths just to mess with Sanji when he yells at him.

Chopper always wants extra marshmallows in his hot cocoa and likes to put a caramel candy in it to melt in the heat. Nami puts a tangerine syrup Sanji made especially for hot cocoa and coffee when he learned about places like Starbucks.

The White Elephant game is a must for Christmas Eve festivities. And none of the gifts are allowed to be nice gifts. Its always gag gifts.

Mistletoe is both loved and hated for varying reasons. I'm sure you can figure out why on your own. Though, there was one year that Usopp tied Mistletoe on Chopper's antlers. Everyone gave him kisses, even Zoro who acted like it was beneath him.

The first time we went carolling as a crew, we sang to the Heart Pirates who looked equally enthralled, terrified, and confused. Law thought we were hit with a Devil Fruit that makes us sing if we try to speak. They got christmas cookies and hot cocoa as restitution for the trauma of listening to Luffy sing Jingle Bells off key and wrong.

After learning about the holidays, Law figured out how to send Doflamingo a present. It was coal and a picture of him flipping him off. Law felt very vindicated for that.

Tidbits from Iris - pt 2

There is an unhealthy amount of dicks carved or drawn on property owned by Shichibukai (except Mihawk bc he helped me one (1) time and it was awesome and Hancock bc she'sgot enough tondealnwoth already), Navy, Cipher Pol, Celestial Dragons (when I was being a total badass on my own), and World Government.

I did that. I dunno why. It just felt appropriate at the time.

Bellamy told me that Doflamingo thought I had artistic talent with how I painted his Jolly Roger giving Crocodile's bounty poster a blow job.

Lucci tried to kill me over it when we ran into each other on Egghead. He didn't like that I carved a really really tiny detailed one on his desk while he was gone and put a note next to it saying it was to scale

Tidbits from Iris- pt 13

Out of everyone of the crew, Jinbei struggled the most with adapting to our dynamics.

Not because he's a Fishman, former shichibukai, or had an indirect hand in Nami's trauma and pain from Arlong. None of us cared about that shit and we've told him that.

No.

Jinbei struggles with our dynamics with how we handle situations and how quickly we get into shenanigans.

Most of which is Luffy’s fault.

Like on Fishman Island, he had been giving us all a quick summary of what's been happening since the last saw us after the war. Luffy did NOT pay attention at all. And we all know how Jinbei reacted to Chopper's explanation to what a captain is supposed to act.

Then, there's what he experienced at Whole Cake Island and Wano.

He also learned pretty quickly to fear Nami's wrath, which good for him. He learned faster than the rest of us. He and Robin are probably the only ones Nami hasn't hit or had her wrath directed at on purpose. Though, Jinbei did experience the full force of her glare when we left Wano by falling off the waterfall instead of using the official port. I thought for sure he was going to get Zeus and Billy sicced on him.

Nami had sworn vengeance on Kidd for running his mouth at Luffy and Law, whcih resulted in us going downnthe waterfall. She had Franky and Usopp help her remake her Clima-Tact with sea prism stone and materials that are strong but can't be controlled by Kidd. She'dalso gotten Vegapunk involved with its development. I say this bc once finished and we ran into the Kidd Pirates again, she did get into an actual fight with Kidd. It was amazing. Killer made this parmesan pasta that was 🔥🔥🔥 for us to eat while our respective crews watched. Long story short, Nami kicked his ass and Kidd now keeps a wide berth around her. He also flinches at the sight of dark storm clouds and the sound of thunder.
