Thinking about why I like this movie so much. It dawned on me a few hours after my first watch bit like, I always complain about the unnecessary amount of sex scenes and romance added into movies nowadays.
Sometimes it’s fine, other times I genuinely want to hit the tv out of rage. When I first watched the F1 movie and started seeing the tension between the characters i wanted to walk out of the cinema because why did they have to do that AND IT ADDED NOTHING TO THE PLOT MIND YOU. They don’t even Get together.
But Project Hail Mary? Grace, who shows no interest in anyone while he’s at stratt’s vatt, not pursuing anyone (when the opportunity for making Stratt x Grace is right there), and staying single because his “head was in the clouds”. It was like a breath of fresh air.
He didn’t have to be in a relationship to find happiness. He had already found it doing what he loves, teaching the next generation, helping them learn and grow into fine people.
The lack of romance, yet the bonding between two distinct species and the pure love they have for each other despite that. The connection that we humans crave, can’t live without, found light years away with something that is an inanimate object way back on earth.
This movie is my favorite because it has something most dont have at this day and age. And I praise Andy Weir for the book, and the production team for making it come to life in such a fascinating way.
I think this is something I could talk for hours. I love this movie so so so much.
G1 Wreck-Gar may definitely need to be added to my " Lost In Rating " series. His speech patterns are so unique, argh! His obsession with human media and junk is so interesting.

I'm a little biased towards a Cybertronian darling, especially if they were injured. They were dumped on the junk planet. Wreck-Gar and the other Junkions find you, quickly patching you up. He keeps trying to add stuff to your frame to make you look more like a Junkion.
Wreck-Gar learns you were staying on the organic planet of Earth and pesters you with questions. Then he pesters you with more questions about your upbringing. You outweigh his interest in organic media. You're the most interesting thing he's ever found. He just immediately accepts that you are a part of his things.

This is to talk about the Imu reveal and some theories I have. Feel free to check out and offer your own opinions too!

So, like, we’ve all seen or heard, right? Oda finally revealed Imu’s true form and

Because I am right! I am right! About a few things or at least, some of my stuff is right! Also, I shit you not, I was on the phone with a friend of mine last night and I spent almost two hours on the phone with her freaking the FUCK OUT over Imu’s reveal bc HOLY SHIT CERTAIN STUFF IS STARTING TO MAKE FUCKING SENSE!!
So, like, how did I found? On fucking TikTok when I was trying to find some Reddit AI story bs bc I wanted to listen to something while I worked. And I stumble upon a TT saying that Imu’s been fucking revealed according to the lucky sons of bitches who got access to the fucking raw scans before the rest of us chucklefucks.
So, what do I do after?
I start googling shit. And I find this:
I DON’T EVEN KNOW IF THIS IS THE ACTUAL LOOK?! BUT IF SO, THEN I AM RIGHT ABOUT WHAT HIS DEVIL FRUIT IS AND ALSO IT WOULD MAKE SENSE AS TO WHY THE LUNARIANS ARE GONE AND I’M TOTALLY GOING TO REHASH MY ONE PIECE THEORY TO YOU AGAIN YOU LOSERS!
And then, because I’m like, I need to verify and find this:

So, like, let’s talk about the obvious facts.
1. If it turns out that Imu is actually Lunarian, then, honest to god, it would make so much fucking sense as to why the Lunarians had been wiped out and that Marijoa had been built on the Red Line—and not because of the world flooding goddamnit. It’s where Imu would’ve had the most control over the 20, sorry, 19 royal families that relocated there during the founding of the World Government.
As we know, Lunarians are basically invulnerable and impervious to all attacks given to them so long as the flames are present. As we saw in God Valley, Imu had tanked the most powerful attacks by the most powerful individuals in One Piece in their prime at the SAME FUCKING TIME AND SHRUGGED IT OFF LIKE IT WAS FUCKING NOTHING!! So, if Imu is in fact a Lunarian, him tanking those attacks like that would make sense. Because he would basically be like fucking Superman. Nothing would be able to hurt him. It’d make sense that he’d be able to shrug off those attacks that easily.
As for the Lunarians themselves, it would make sense that Imu would wipe them the fuck out when he had. It would prevent the rest of the world to have a potential army of individuals who are capable of being impervious to physical attacks in a fight like he had. Not to mention, I believe that Lunarians—like the giants—also worshipped Nika or at least had a relationship of some kind with Joyboy, which is also why they got fucking wiped.
2. Imu is a MAN!!
I have seen numerous theories about Imu being a woman or that he’s someone who had taken over Lili’s body in some where body snatcher thing. You all know what I’m talking about! Well, FUCK ALL OF YOU!! I CALLED BULLSHIT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WAY THAT IMU WAS A FUCKING WOMAN!!
Everything about Imu fucking SCREAMED “Man”! He had a giant portrait of Nefertari D. Lili up in his secret chambers. That’s some obsession that is usually only seen in MEN. Also, his interest in Vivi, who—surprise surprise—ALSO looks like the carbon copy of Lili, which I feel totally helps with another theory that I had been cooking up the last couple weeks.
3. Certain physical characteristics that I think is giving us hints at what his Devil Fruit is.
He has horns, black flames with creepy eyes surrounding him, his nails are black and pointed, I’m pretty sure that THAT’S A FUCKING TAIL!!
I firmly FIRMLY BELIEVE that his Devil Fruit is a mythical type. In fact, I believe it is the antithesis to the Nika fruit that Luffy has. I truly believe now that Imu’s Devil Fruit’s model is The Devil. Like the ACTUAL Devil that created the Devil Fruits. I believe that either the Devil turned himself into a Devil Fruit. OR the first user used their Devil Fruit to become The Devil and made the other Devil Fruits. I also believe that, like Luffy’s Nika fruit, the Devil’s Devil Fruit is also a Zoan type.
Also, like the Devil, I believe that Imu’s DF grants him the ability to charm or coerce people into giving him information. Like you know how when the Devil talks, it’s all honeyed words and the things he knows you want to hear or that the things he says are rational or whatever, so you tell him what he wants to know. This is how I think King Kobra was forced into revealing Lili’s proper name. I don’t think it was just the shock of what he learned before he died, but also because of Imu’s influence through his DF. I also believe that this “charm” ability is how he was able to get the 20 kingdoms to work together.
Another power I believe Imu’s DF can do is to create demons through contracts and do summonings. I know someone threw out a theory that the summoning and demon contracts were done through a grimoire, but I think it’s Imu’s DF. I think he can do that through his power and that he can lend his power to turn people in demons through them through a contract or by possessing them like he did with Gunko.
4. Imu’s Immortality
Since it is confirmed that Imu is, in fact, Nerona Imu, a king from 800 years ago, then I believe it is safe to say that Imu is am immortal. Now, I have two possible ways that Imu has immortality to his reprotoire: either had someone with the Ope-Ope no Mi give him immortality back then or his DF granted him immorality when he awakened his DF.
Now for my main theory about the Ancient Kingdom, Imu, and possibly Joyboy.
Now, as we all know, Davy Jones was actually the original King of the World. I believe that the Ancient Kingdom is where he ruled. I’m also a fan of a theory I heard on TikTok—that of course my dumb of ass did NOT save—that said that Joyboy might’ve been the heir to Davy Jones’ throne. Now the theory did say that there’s a possibility that the Lunarians and the Ancient Kingdom had some kind of relationship with each other and that Imu might’ve been made a stepchild of Davy Jones as part of it. Someone to be part of the Royal Family, but will never inherit the throne as he is not the blood son of the king or something like that.
As I stated in my theory, I do believe that Imu had done something that might’ve forced him into exile before getting the 20 kingdoms together and destroying the Ancient Kingdom. However, I’m making a slight change. I believe that Imu wanted the throne because he wanted the POWER. Either he left on his own or he tried and failed to seize control before leaving.
I do believe that during his travels, he wished for power so much that he ended finding the Devil’s DF because it sensed his wishes. With his DF and his ability to fly as a Lunarian, I believe that Imu met with the 20 kingdoms and manipulated them all into working together to overthrow Davy Jones and destroy the Ancient Kingdom.
Now, here’s why I believe that Joyboy was the son of Davy Jones. I believe Emmet, the giant robot that Joyboy was friends with, gave us that confirmation when he apologized for being unable to make Joyboy king.
Now, here’s where it gets intersting.
As we all know, once Imu is successful, he bans knowledge about the previous 100 years, dubs it the “Void Century”, and makes studying it a death sentence. He also has Marijoa constructed on the Red Line and makes the 20, sorry again, 19 royal families relocate to Marijoa with stewards (like what Gondor had in Lord of the Rings) to rule in their stead and send “Heavenly Tributes” to Marijoa.
However, as we all know, one royal family that remained in their kingdom: the Nefertaris. The queen at the time, Nefertari D. Lili, not only remained in Alabasta, but she went about doing everything she could to help bring about Imu’s demise in the future.
I believe that she worked with Joyboy to create and then hide away the Poneglyphs. I believe that the Poneglyphs were made of a stone that I think can only be found on Laughtale, which is why no one has found it before, and had been shaped and engraved by the samurai of Wano at Joyboy’s request. Then, Lili had the Poneglyphs hidden away for Joyboy.
I think that they knew that they could never get strong enough or build up an army strong enough to defeat Imu within in their lifetime. I also believe that sometime after the Poneglyphs were hidden, Joyboy had been killed by Imu. I also think that there was one more thing that Lili had done to give the future better odds against Imu.
I think Lili made sure that those of the “D” clan had been purposefully hidden during the early years of the World Government. Since history from the Void Century was being destroyed, I believe that she destroyed information about the “D” clan to ensure that there would be someone who was capable of being strong enough to defeat Imu. Since we know that Davy Jones’ family were a part of the “D” clan, I think its same to assume that Davy Jones had been strong enough to fight Imu, but I believe he was defeated by being overwhelmed by the kings and queens of the other kingdoms because they could turn into demons through Imu’s power. And I believe she did it BECAUSE at the same time, the Lunarians were being wiped out by Imu.
Also, I have another theory!!!!
I believe that we might also be dealing with some kind of reincarnation stuff going on. Now I know what you’re thinking: reincarnation? Really? Shut you, you dumb ass, that’s too much! But I’m telling you! I think there IS some kind of reincarnation stuff going on in this!
Let me explain:
The most obvious clue is Vivi herself. From what it looks like Vivi is the spitting image of Nefertari D. Lili, which is why I think Imu had such an interest in. I’m getting some serious one-sided romance vibes from Imu, because WHY ELSE would he have a MASSIVE PORTRAIT of Queen Lili on his wall!! The man was clearly in love with her, but she wasn’t. Either because she was horrified by the kind of monster he is or maybe she was into someone else (like maybe Joyboy?) Who knows!? Anyway, I think Imu is interested in Vivi because of how she looks like Lili and it doesn’t help that Vivi is Lili’s descendant. I’m calling it right now: if Imu and Vivi meet, he’s going to be calling her Lili instead of Vivi! Okay! I swear this man is obsessive and potentially yandere!
Another clue is the connection with Joyboy and Luffy. I think Luffy is the reincarnation of Joyboy. Not because he got his DF and awakened it, but because he IS the reincarnation of Joyboy’s soul. As we all know, from what we could see, Joyboy looks really similar to Luffy. And I think that and the fact that his VA is the VA from the One Piece pilot who voiced Luffy. Then, there’s the hat and the energy he gives off. It screams Luffy!
So, hear me out!
As we know, Zoan DFs are actually very tricky because they have some level of sentience. I believe that this allows Zoan DFs to be selective as to who their future wielders will be. This is backed by how the Nika fruit had purposefully kept itself out of the hands of the World Government—out of Imu’s hands—because it knew what would happen if it ended up with him. I think Zoans look for wielders whose souls resonate (cue Soul Eater opener) with the fruit. I also believe that parts of the souls from previous users reside within the DF, even after the wielder has long since passed, which I also believe is how people who end up becoming the new wielders are able to figure out how to use their powers bc it ends up feeling like muscle memory but it’s really the wielders from before guiding them. However, if the fruit ends up with someone who doesn’t resonate with the fruit, it doesn’t work as effective and is unlikely to be awakened. An example would be Kaido who had his DF for decades and hadn’t awakened it.
So, I think the Nika fruit not only found Luffy because his soul resonated with the fruit, but because it’s, in fact, the OTHER HALF of Joyboy’s soul because it reincarnated. And that’s why I believe that the reason his DF awakened at his death because it’s the other half of his soul that helped bring him back. It could also tie in to how Luffy hates being alone because his soul feels lonely because half of it is missing.
And finally I believe that, since Joyboy is noted as the first pirate in history, I believe that the Strawhat Pirates are actually reincarnations of Joyboy’s crew during the Void Century.

As we all know, Luffy has always seem to know who he wants to recruit for his crew. He took one look at each and everyone one of them and basically went, “yup these are mine” and stuffed them in his meat-scented pockets before going about his day while whistling. But what if the reason he picked each member of his crew specifically BECAUSE they were all Joyboy’s crew in a past life!!!
Like Zoro is the spitting fucking image of the late Ringo Daimyo Shimotsuki Ushimaru just with blue hair, has both eyes, and one sword. Hell, when we got that one Netflix special about Ryuma slaying a dragon, he LITERALLY looked like pre-timeskip Zoro—again just with a different hair color and one singular sword. And Robin is literally the spitting image of her mother just with black hair. Yes, I know that Robin probably isn’t the best argument since it’s mother-daughter 1-generation. I know I’m reaching! Be nice to me!
Anyway, I think that not only did the Nika fruit look for Luffy because of the missing half of Joyboy’s soul, but also kept an eye out for Joyboy’s crew and found people who either are the straight up reincarnated crew (like I believe Zoro is and I will die on that fucking hill! Fuck you, nonbelievers!) or people who’s souls were similar to Joyboy’s crew.
I’m will to swing either way, but I think it would be so much more interesting if it’s straight up reincarnation because then Imu’s interest in Luffy would be even fucking funnier because on top of Luffy looking exactly like Joyboy, then Imu had to get a fucking face full of Joyboy’s Haki that had been stored in Emmet that sent him back to the One Piece equivalent of the Vietnam trenches level PTSD that had been fucking TRIGGERED in Imu during Egghead. The man was fucking TWEAKING with how much Joyboy’s stored Haki affected him, which I also think is the main reason why Imu killed Saint Saturn because he did so out of anger at being forced to relive that feeling again.
This is all so fucking crazy. We’ve been waiting for Imu’s real form to be revealed since June 2018 when he was first fucking introduced!!
My head fucking hurts. I’m gonna go back to finishing the Alabasta arc like I’ve been trying to for the last two weeks. And I haven’t even gotten to the One Piece Movies after! Maybe I should put them all in the Skypiea arc since it’s technically one arc with some filler before it goes to Long Ring Long Island…..
