Tigermis - Borneo Black Tarantula (Phormingochilus arboricola) - Female
I think Tigermis has died from impaction. She's unresponsive, but her body isn't stiff yet, so I've put her in an ICU. But it's not looking good. The problem with fossorials is that you can't really know if they're sick until it's too late.
I don't know what's wrong with me. My tarantulas were so happy and healthy from 2018-2022, but in the past 6 months all except Kali, Candy, and one balfouri sling have died. 5 balfouri slings died of unknown causes. Vexx got eaten by a mealworm. Only Trick, Scooby, Queenie, and Starlight have died of old age. I guess I made the right call, not buying any tarantulas at the last few expos. I don't know what's wrong.

This is literally the first time I've seen Tigermis out of her den during the day. So far she's only been active at around 1 am to ?? I wanna say 6 am?? She's always gone back into hiding when I wake up. I feel like I'm looking at a unicorn here!!
