In 60 Seconds by William Broom
A metroidvania, probably the only one where you are limited to a 60 second period of play time. In that short period of time, the game encourages you to be quickwitted and collect as many extra abilities as possible to aid your progress, while avoiding obstacles and destroying enemies. It's all very cute and it works.
A game I heard about in a thread on Twitter. Sadly, the game doesn't seem readily available anywhere, as all of the links I've followed looking for it are dead. The person who mentioned it on Twitter claimed to still have it, but couldn't find it on their current PC.
@tinycartridge also wrote about it some 13 years ago. Maybe they might still have it?
lil' Sherman is a 3rd person action tower defense RPG that takes place in a stylized WW2/Alt-Universe. The year is 1945 and with the help of Element 115 the evil Nazi Scourge has won the great war in Europe. However, with lil’ Sherman leading the counteroffensive all hope is not lost. This elite U.S. Sherman tank, along with the support of the command center, will help take back Europe one country at a time.
day 1
👋 Hi there! Saw a post on TIGSource about The Wholesome Competition when logging into Steam the other day and what can I say. I can definitely get onboard with spreading some soothing energies. My entry into the competition will be a wholesome version of Snake, named friendly noodle. friendly noodle: a snake who eats fruit and befriends mice. I'm imagining a 3D game with pixel art, coded in React.
Right now, the month of October is looking pretty rough and am not sure how far I'll be able to go, but am looking forward to learning a lot and making this first game on my own. I haven’t worked with Redux before, and I’m looking forward to working with it. My experience with game development has mostly been in Unity, which is a game engine with which I’ve found powerful and baffling at times to work, with the duality of the editor and written code. For the purpose of friendly noodle though, I don’t think Unity is necessary and I’m excited to see how performant React will be :-)
Other parts of the game dev that I’m looking forward to is creating the art and overall atmosphere of the game. My goal is to have a working game by the end of the month and to share a little bit everyday of what I’ve done. Looking forward to seeing what other folks will come up with, too.
Find me @ friendlynoodle on TIGForums!
Work in progress on new mine visuals and explosions.
Explosions now causes knockback. Because of this mine’s deployment range has also increased.
Mines are twice the size, making it into a easier weapon to use.
Mine Launcher Launches a mine that does huge damage.

Cross posting from Tumblr to TIGSource
I’ve begun a development blog on TIGSource for my meditative puzzle action game Seed of Life.
My plan is to really take my blogging seriously - and so my first step was to figure out a way to make cross-posting a lot easier.
My default blogging platform is Tumblr - meanwhile, TIGSource uses BBCode. In short, I needed an easy way to convert the RichText format of Tumblr to BBCode. Nothing online seemed to do the job perfectly.
Cutting to the chase, I wrote a C# script in Unity that converts things for me. You can find the file here.
I’ll explain how to use it.
1. Have a GameObject with the HTML2BBCode.cs script attached to it
2. Copy the HTML code of your Tumblr post
3. Paste the HTML into the HTML field and click the Run checkbox
This will fill the BBCode field and automatically copy it to the clipboard, meaning all you have to do now is paste it into your TIGSource text field and Preview / Post!
In TIGSource I’ll generally do some very minor formatting adjustments where needed, but the results are generally perfect!
If this proves helpful for anybody, let me know :)
Also, if you have your own workflow for posting to TIGSource, please share your experience.
EDIT:
Since I am a Unity developer, this was what is most common and comfortable for me. However, I'm sure this would be a lot more convenient to others if it were a simple converter online. I have a Wordpress website (emotiontheory.com) but I have no idea how I would write a page with a converter (probably in javascript or something). If anybody has any ideas or suggestions for this, it would be a great help to the TIGSource & Tumblr community, I'm sure! Not everybody uses Unity, after all.
Feel free to comment, or write to me through Facebook or Twitter. Cheers!
