Tim doesn’t know that he’s touch starved, he never questioned that weird itch he felt deep with in his bones. Sure it wasn’t quite as prevalent on the rare moment his parents were home and in a good mood. Tim thought it’s normal to crave any scrap of affection his parents threw his way when they were home. But the empty feeling and bone deep aches never went away. Tim never knew he was touched starved. One day while out stalking the bats he tripped and feel off a roof leading robin to rescue him. Robin catches him but doesn’t immediately put the boy down. Tim was stiff before realizing that being held was nice. For the first time the bone deep aches went away. He was kinda sleepy being held though, was that normal? Tim starts to purposely put himself in danger on the nights where not much else was going on in Gotham, not a lot of danger but enough to maybe score a Robin hug! He makes sure to disguise himself each time, no need to make the bats worry about saving the same boy over and over again. Tim would also watch as Batman hugs each of his children and wonder if that’s what hugs are supposed to be like, not the half hearted side hug he would rarely get from his parents. Years later of following this pattern Tim still doesn’t know he’s touched starved. He watched as the robins change and then Robin disappeared. Tim watched as Batman grew more violent till the point he decided to step in and become Robin himself to save Batman! Training was rough but it’s the most he’s been touched in years in a single sitting, so what if this kind of touch comes with bruises! The bone deep aching was dimmer after training. Tim never knew he was touched starved. Nightwing tried to give the new Robin, Tim, a hug exactly one time, Tim must have done it wrong because nightwing never tried to hug him again. Life moves on. A year later Red hood attacks Titans tower. Tim would get him get some hits in as he does with everyone he fights to ease his hollow aches. Red hood pins Tim down and Tim just melts into the touch.
