Watters goading Nog on at the court martial, doing everything he can think of to get a rise out of him, to make him slip up, and none of it is working and Nog is just eerily placid the entire hearing while Jake and Sisko just throw each other nervous glances cause they’ve never seen him act like that before and it isn’t until Watters finds Nog in the halls after the hearing that he finally gets something out of him and that something is a shattered mandible and two cracked ribs for his trouble.

If I had a penny everytime a Starfleet cadet being in charge of a team where his arrogance and recklessness got someone killed, I'd have two pennies, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Valiant should’ve had Watters live and been continued with a court martial episode

Also Nog should get to punch Watters. Dislocate/shatter his mandible in the process

Before everything happened -- before the Valiant and its crew were destroyed by a Dominion attack gone awry, before Nog back in his bed on the station is tossing and turning after another sleepless night -- Nog and Jake were on the Shenandoah carrying out a relatively safe mission, and everything was fine.

Nog had accepted that maybe he wasn’t attractive as a romantic partner (or maybe not yet, or maybe just not to Jake) and he was fine with that. He had a career to build and goals to achieve, and he wasn’t going to let anyone distract him from his duty, and besides he was fine being alone.

Everything had been fine.

So they played game six and game seven from the ‘93 Kings/Leafs series tonight and Jim Fox interviewing the boys after game seven had me rolling -

Watters had nodded like he never expected Nog to turn him down, like he had expected nothing less of Nog than to meet every challenge facing him.

His captain had faith in him, so Nog would have faith in his captain.

But, in the end: sometimes heroes fail, no one’s destiny is written in the stars, and putting trust in someone doesn’t ensure they will prevail.

The events on the Valiant echo through Nog’s head as he lies sleepless in bed -- spectres encroaching on his every waking moment, memories he buries deep inside, hoping to forget -- but what keeps resurfacing to the forefront of his mind is the small curl of Tim’s lips as he smiled just for Nog, and what it didn’t mean.

The best ship name I can figure is Nogwatters, which sounds like a fancy beverage... But not one I want to drink.
