Timeless 2x02 "The Darlington 500" All Sneak Peeks - The Time Team chases Rittenhouse to a stock car race in the 1950s where Wyatt learns that his favorite race car driver is actually a Rittenhouse sleeper agent on a mission to destroy the American car industry. To stop the Rittenhouse plan, Wyatt, Lucy and Rufus team up with Wendell Scott, the first African-American NASCAR driver.

TIMELESS: Wyatt and Lucy Bond Over Their Pasts in "The Darlington 500" | This week Lucy, Wyatt and Rufus travel to South Carolina, 1955, to attempt to save the life of race car driver Ryan Millerson, the latest name on Rittenhouse's hit list.

When we last left our trio of time traveling adventurers, Lucy’s mysterious great grandfather was safely recovering in 2018. This week, Nicholas Keanes is back, and busy casting doubt among his followers by printing out all of Wikipedia onto paper, insisting on using only old-world tech, and demanding to be fed a near-constant diet of pickled eggs. Is Rittenhouse’s foremost member an inspired genius, or off the rails?  While the jury is out on that one (at least for now), this week Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus travel to South Carolina, 1955, to attempt to save the life of race car driver Ryan Millerson, the latest name on Rittenhouse’s hit list. 

However, the team soon discovers there is more to Millerson than meets the eye, making saving his life no easy task. Along the way, Wyatt bumps into Wendell Scott — history’s first African-American in NASCAR, and also the first African-American winner in the Grand National Series — and, as a NASCAR fan, has a complete fanboy meltdown. 

Wyatt’s moments with Wendell are a treat to watch, and a great means of giving us more backstory on Wyatt’s childhood and adolescence. (Hint: He wasn’t always the ‘good guy’ we’ve come to know and love.) And speaking of bad boys, expect to see Garcia Flynn popping up briefly to offer a reluctant assist early on, while the shifty Connor Mason butts heads with Agent Christopher in an incident that leaves feathers deeply ruffled all around. We’ll also get a deeper look at Jiya’s strange fainting and hallucination spells, and guys, as it turns out, it’s kinda creepy. 

Last, but not least, #Lyatt (#Wucy?) fans will not be disappointed (but maybe not left cheering either) as Wyatt and Lucy bond (in a very tight place!) over their shared disappointment in their parents. What starts as a serious conversation gradually gives way to humor and a little romance … almost. But don’t worry. If you are a fan of this could be a couple then the sumptuous upcoming “Hollywood Land” is definitely the episode for you.
