One of my characters in my original fic is a trans, Middle-Eastern, Jewish amputee with ADHD and I keep forgetting that’s probably Too Many Minorities for a lot of readers.

On the other hand, he’s also virulently anti-capitalist and his entire plot starts off with him being mid-adventure running away from feds that have tracked him through like a dozen countries because he committed a couple of felonies that pissed off the wrong people.

So like.

The people that would hate him for the minorities thing (most of which I think I included organically enough that it’s not uncomfortable to read?) would hate him anyway.

your jokingly disgusted tone makes me believe you speak of the horrors i have created. i admire your attitude.

in the gameverse story this was admittedly not very thought out and i think mostly i just wanted them to be "friends" because it felt like a natural conclusion to whatever arthur had going on– he's finally getting over himself by forming a healthy relationship with someone he'd previously conditioned himself to hate, thus ending the "i'm always right and everyone i don't like deserves to die" mentality he had going on.

galacta has no real reason to like him though– the only reason he's helping arthur is out of the goodness of his heart, which actually... isn't super "healthy" for him right now? he just ended a previous relationship in the most disastrous way possible, and considering how destructive he is himself, he isn't exactly an ideal candidate for the "person who fixes arthur" position.

recently, i think i've gravitated toward a different direction where the relationship comes as a result of galacta seeing a lot of elements of his former life and ideals in him (including all that bitterness and self-righteousness) and deciding that it's his personal duty to make sure he repays the favor arthur did for him by being at least a little nice to him– he feels bad for him after all. i don't think i need to go too in-depth on how gala is endeared to his slow improvement and fascination with galacta's life and magic. and over time, this "unhealthy" relationship turns into something mutually satisfying.

the animeverse story on the other hand. this is the one i've been fixated on recently. and you can tell.

even though i've always had an answer to your question, in a previous post i stated that the reasoning behind galacta's "feelings" didn't matter, and i think i've changed my mind a little but not completely (this sounds like a cop-out lol)? at it's core, it's like this: galacta sticks with arthur out of convenience because of how much better he is at the pr stuff, but just can't get rid of him because he's afraid of what arthur will do– and worse, he's [drumroll please] grown attached. because he's really, really desperate.

he's been alone for so long and struggling to keep himself stable. arthur is drawn to galacta because he's hot and powerful and has taken him to great places, and galacta is drawn to him because he needs this, and arthur is essentially his only option because of the situation he's put himself in. i haven't talked much about what arthur is like without galacta, but it's just about as bad as what he's like without gwen. they're in this very strange spot where they essentially just make each other worse and worse for the sake of the narrative.

speaking of timestruck objectively the funniest thing to happen during its production is that while i was writing it i really wanted arthur and galacta to interact right? meta knight's worlds are clashing with each other and it'd already been established in previous fics that arthur sees galacta as dangerous and unstable and galacta knight sees people like him as annoying stuck-ups deserving of death. so basically i'm working at my computer and at some point i think "man, it would be really weird if people interpreted them as having gay tension. like, that 'haha old man yaoi!!!'. would that not be really weird. it would be crazy if that happened. so weird." and every time they interact in the fic it's literally like this

i still think papi would be the main antagonist in a post-timestruck scenario... like, him following in morpho and nightmare's footsteps??being responsible for vaud and konja's corruption and villainy?? taunting meta knight with galaxia's soul?? attempting to manipulate xi into becoming his "sister"?? very fun stuff.

i find it very difficult to explore anymore since i kinda got burnout from gameverse metamorphosed lol. but it's a cute story concept.

metamorphosed anniversary is coming up (september 16!!) so in anticipation but mostly because i was bored and wanted to i redrew a doodle @purble-gaymer made a little more then a year ago completely against my will. none of this is especially serious or well made it's just too silly of a joke not to share.
