Reportage

During the previous illustration workshop I have been inspired by a technique back dates to the early 1800′s Reportage. This is the reporting of news by the press and the broadcasting media. However reportage originally steamed from  illustrators who where made to document scenes by drawing on the front line of war zones, as cameras weren't developed enough, to then be used by the media. 

There is something charming and less harsh about Reportage compared with photography, as it allows you to tell a story through this technique, giving a greater narrative than that of photography.
