Zuko: *nods eagerly* And Mommy. And Uncle Iroh. And Grandfather. I want to prank everyone!!!
Lu Ten: Umm...

Lu Ten: *mumbles* Alright *defeated sigh*

Resisting the urge to write a proper, complete spin off to Zuko’s Tiny Dilemma where Azula gets de-aged. (Because I already have so many WIPs again, and the oneshot I’ve started for The Spirits Made me collection could be added to here and there to create its own little arc...)
But then I think of tiny Azula putting up with spirit curses and it is as terrifying as it is amusing, and that kind of deserves it’s own fic.
She looks like Azula in this panel and I am VERY AFRAID.
The scary evil fire princess isn't so scary and evil now.

How would Zuko/the Gaang react to shrunken Azula in your shrunken Azula AU?
Hi Anon!
I finally thought of some plotlines for the Shrunken Azula AU.
In this AU, Sozin's Comet arrives in 3 years instead of the end of the summer, so each season takes place over one year.
Ozai's Angels follow the Gaang into the Desert but end up getting separated somehow. Azula finds the Spirit Library shortly after the Gaang and is refused entry since she does not have any items of knowledge to trade. She sneaks in anyway and is cursed.
When the Spirit Library sinks, Azula hitches a ride on Sokka to escape. He doesn't notice until they are out and promptly stranded again. With no other choice, Azula tags along with them to Ba Singe Se.
Sokka's shocked but also very amused (until Azula burns his eyebrows off for laughing)
Aang barely acknowledged her because he's too upset and stressed about Appa's kidnapping.
Katara's in a "This mind as well happen" mindset. She hates that it's Azula but won't leave her in the desert alone. That would surely kill her even if she wasn't 3 inches tall.
Toph finds this hilarious and due payback for chasing them all across the Earth Kingdom just a week ago. Azula hitches a ride on her while Sokka goes on his cactus juice trip and lets Toph walk into some things as payback for laughing at her. (She stops after Toph threatens to throw her).
Zuko laughs. An actual bellyache laugh. The first one in a year. Azula burns off his remaining eyebrow.

Mai is SO confused. Like genuinely. Her brain refuses to process any of this.

Prequel to this post
Zuko rubbed his aching eyes, praying what he thought just happened didn't. That a bright light did not flash in the middle of his and Azula's spar leaving his body sore and head aching.
He forced himself to open his eyes and found himself in the middle of a strange spirit forest. Great. First the body switch fiasco now this! Why were there so many spirits hanging around the palace?!
"Nice going dum-dum." Azula spat. "You angered the spirits again!"
"Again?! That was your fault! Both times!!!"
"As I recall, no one knows what angered the last one, but you pushed me onto this spirit and now we're 3 inches tall!!!"
"What?!" Zuko shot up.
Azula pushed the vegetation back revealing an oversized throwing star Mai gifted her. The very one Zuko knocked out of her hand when their spar turned into a messy free for all.
Zuko's heart sank.
"Like I said, 3 inches tall. Thanks a lot."
"None of this is my fa-"
A shadow fell over them seconds before a huge bird swooped down. The siblings barely had time to jump out of the way as the bird snatched up the throwing star. The two shared a frightened look. They had to get out of the garden or they'll surely be next.
A brief silent truce was formed as Zuko and Azula began the trek. Thankfully, they were relativity close to the walkway before they were shrunken. After scaling the huge steps, the ground trembled as a massive figure in deep red robes passed by. The siblings gasped.
"DAD! HELP US!"
"WAIT! DOWN HERE!"
They quickly chased after him, but it was no use. Ozai tuned out their now shrunken voices, assuming it was a chorus of summer insects. And there was no possible chance of the siblings catching up to him on foot.
Azula grabbed Zuko's wrist. "Agni's Arrow!"
Zuko skidded to a stop then spun his sister around. Azula produced fire jets from her feet to build momentum. After counting to three, Zuko released her. Azula shot through the air at breakneck speed straight towards her father.
This better work for they were both done for.

The palace was quiet. Too quiet.
That alone put Ozai on edge. He swore he heard his children out by the garden earlier. It was just another sibling spat but when he decided to check on them, the garden was empty.
A part of Ozai hoped the children settled things on their own and left without a big fuss. The rest of Ozai knew that was wishful thinking. So, he walked the perimeter just to be sure.
Ozai let out an annoyed sigh. The humming bees were a lot louder today. He'll have to talk to the groundskeeper about that least they overrun the whole garden.
Something landed on his shoulder. Ozai tsked and brushed it away. It seemed the infestation already began.
"Dad!!!"
Ozai stopped dead in his tracks.
"Azula?"
It was so faint. Maybe he was hearing things.
"Down here! Hurry!"
A small blue flame shot from his arm. Ozai glanced down and saw his daughter dangling from his sleeve.
"What the-"
Ozai quickly scooped her into his palm before she lost her grip.
"A-Azula?" Ozai gaped at his now tiny daughter trying to get her bearings. "What... how...?"
His eyes widened. If Azula was like this then...
"Where's Zuko?!"
Ozai lifted his feet as horror gripped him. Cool relief washed over him when he spotted a small figure running towards him.
"Dad!"
Ozai knelt down and lowered his hand for Zuko to climb onto. Now that his children were safe, Ozai calmed down enough for his mind to piece together what happened.
"Don't tell me-"
"Spirits." the siblings answered at the same time.
Ozai groaned. "Not again."

Started a new thread because the original one was getting pretty long.
Fire Siblings: *running away from the elephant rat*
Zuko: Through here!
*They squeeze through a crack. Azula shoots fire at the elephant rat so it doesn't follow them out*
Zuko, breathing hard: Oh thank Agni, we're- *sees dropped basket* RIGHT WHERE WE STARTED?!
Azula: Great. We wasted 1 or 2 hours going in circles!!!
Zuko: C'mon. I'm not giving up!
*Ground shakes as someone approaches*
Azula: In there!
*Siblings climb into the basket and hide under a cloth. A different servant cleans up the mess and takes the basket with them*
Azula, peeking out: Finally our luck is changing.
Zuko: We're heading to the garden?
Azula: Kitchen it seems.
Zuko: *groans*
Azula: I know but look. *pulls back cloth to reveal bread, fruit, and nuts*
Zuko: *stomach growls loudly* Oh...
[Arriving to the palace]
Yue: Thanks again for the ride.
Sokka: Yue how many time we gotta tell you it's no problem? You're practically family.
Katara: *smacks the back of his head* It's called having manners. Something you could stand to learn.
Sokka: *grumbles*
Yue: I do appreciate it though. Snowdrop moves slower in the Fire Nation heat and Prince Iroh said it was urgent.
Katara: I hope everyone's alright.
Yue: Me too.
Sokka: Must be spirit shenanigans or else our favorite hot heads would have burned it by now.
Yue: *rolls her eyes and laughs* You're not wrong.
Servant: *bows* Avatar Yue, Prince Iroh, Prince Ozai, and Princess Ursa await you in the East Garden.
Yue: Thank you.
Katara: Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
Yue: I will. *leaves*
Servant: Prince Sokka and Princess Katara, I assume you are here for the Young Majesties?
Sokka: Yes we are.
Servant: Unfortunately, they are... unavailable until further notice. Shall I escort you to the guest rooms?
Katara: No thank you. We'll make do here.
Katara, after the servant leaves: First the emergency Avatar summoning, then Zuko and Azula are "unavailable until further notice". What's really going on here?
Sokka: Something is up. Let's look around. *clutches stomach* Starting with the kitchen.
Katara: Really?
Sokka: It was a long trip! Besides, the kitchen staff know all the latest and best rumors. They're our best bet.
Katara: Fair point. Let's go.
