I got my tissue typing report from Be The Match today, and I would like to say that the statistic that 1 in 4 siblings will be a tissue match is FALSE.

I have the same A and B tissue typings as all of my sisters. No one matches my brother. We're all A-3, B-7 and A-3, B-35. He has the same first one, but the second is A-2, B-29 I believe.

HLA statistics don't apply to my family apparently hah. Oh well, at least he didn't NEED the bone marrow transplant and was able to go into remission with more chemo & radiation.
