Major Update

Hello again dear floofins! I bring you an update on the series after a bit of quiet!

The situation had been a bit dire for a while, progress on the physical puppet K.B. was... not ideal. We experimented, we failed, we kept trying. Thus we came to a couple of conclusions:

It's still going to happen, we can make it.

Just not for Season 1

We still think that a physical puppet would be the ideal for the show, but we also don't want to make you all wait a lot longer. And so we set out to make a 2D digital animation puppet! It's not as fluid and flashy as the real one will be, or as versatile (and time consuming) as the pilot's free-hand animated one... but it will help us bring episodes quick enough without losing our titular sassy kulindadromeus!

Oh and the best part about the 2D puppet? It's done, we finished it before even writing this update! That's right, this means we can now finally start proper production for Episode 1! (And will re-structure our Patreon accordingly soon)

A new title for The Liberal Dinosaur Fan

Hello Dear Floofins!

I know we've been quiet here for a little while but we're still hard at work to get this show going!

Preciesly this work has brought us to a bit of an uncomfortable point: Given the current state of the world, the fact that our show title can be misinterpreted as a political position detracts from our objective: Which is to teach about science without getting political about it, a show that kids and adults can enjoy together and equally. So we're thinking of possibly updating the title into something less misleading and we want to know YOUR opinion about it!

So here's a poll with a couple options we've thought of that would keep things clear and concise, thank you for your time in answering this so we can make the best show and viewing experience that we can!

Quick sloppy update, just so you guys know we're not dead, just working on preproduction!

Could their be a possible episode in the series involving the issues of Awesomebro's? (EX: T. rex VS Spinosaurus debates and their impacts on the Paleo community, the attitude of people considering Dinosaurs as nothing more than giant monsters and Anachronism issues in the media, like Jurassic Dinosaurs living with Cretaceous Dinosaurs.) Would it be an idea worth noting or would it be something to glance over? (Btw, great job with the puppet so far.)

You can rest assured there will be several episodes dedicated to this seemingly eternal struggle between awesomebroism/media vs accurate scientific representation. Especially the attitude and agressiveness displayed in the debates.There’s a lot to talk about for it to just be glanced over in a single episode, though we also don’t want it to feel like that’s all the series is about. You can expect episodes on this to come by with several more lighthearted ones inbetween.

So is the style gonna be like a Jim Henson production?

Nooot quite. The style of the episodes is going to pretty much be the same as the pilot, the only difference being that the animated sections will change for sections with the puppet.In a sense it’ll hopefully feel somewhat like JonTron videos if Jon were dinosaur puppet hehe.

Just like our project lead, TLDF itself is getting an image update! Our placeholder title art will now be replaced with this official title art we worked on for the upcoming official series debut!

If you’re feeling a very strong 90s TV show vibe from this title art, rest assured it is 100% intentional! K.B. thought it’d be “absolutely radical, dude!”

Is the Liberal in "Liberal Dinosaur Fan" in reference to liberal paleontology or liberal politics, because the latter could alienate some viewers

Ryuu (Liberal Dinosaur Fan project lead) here. It refers to liberal paleontology, the series does not delve in politics at all.
