A BREEZE BRUSHES AGAINST the pelicans that fly above the glistening sea. The waves bring you further into the ocean while you try your best to stay in the shallow waters. From behind you, Asami busied herself by swimming and pointing out the many fish that swam past her.
Korra stayed in the sand, by the belongings you all brought. Lying comfortably on the towel while catching a bit of sleep that was not intended.
The warmth from the sun and slight coolness from the wind sang to her like a lullaby, luring her to get a bit of rest.
Bumping into Asami, you turn and giggle with her. She opens her arms, letting you rest your back against her, your head resting against her neck as the two of you float peacefully.
You and Asami look over to Korra, and Asami’s giggles deafen the other sounds around you two.
Your heart beats faster from her giggle, “She’s so pretty when she rests.” Asami whispers, and you nod. Glancing back up at Asami, her eyes flicker down to your eyes, then to your lips.
“The prettiest.” You whisper, then glance back at Korra, unaware of you and Asami’s admiration.
Asami leans her forehead against your shoulder blade, her lips brushing against your skin. The laughter from kids and people running around distracts you a little. Asami looks up from you, seeing crabs on the left crawl back into the sea, while kids chase after them and their parents yell at them to stop.
Asami’s fingers tap on your hip, and you turn your head to look at her slightly, “Let’s get back to her, yeah?” She whispers, and you nod.
The two of you swim back to the shallow waters. Once you two make it to it, you both stand and get out of the ocean, walking past many people relaxing, some taking pictures, making sandcastles, or eating.
Asami stands to the left side of Korra as you stand at the right, both of you cleaning yourselves up with the towel, the sand covering your toes and legs while you try your best to brush it off.
Asami squats down and rests her hand on Korra’s back, hearing her soft snores that weaken Asami. Korra shifts a little, now lying on her left side, and opens her eyes. She blinks a couple of times as the sunlight blinds her a little.
You and Asami giggle, and you sit beside Korra, your legs stretched out as you pick up your water bottle and begin drinking it.
“I was just enjoying my nap.” She whines and moves to lie on her back, her crop top slipping up to her neck a little, showing a bit of her underboob. You giggle and pull it down. Korra shivers as her shirt brushes her nipples, making them go hard.
“Baby, you can rest better when we go back to the hotel.” You tell her, Korra groans and wraps her muscled right arm around your waist, pulling closer as she does the same to Asami.
The two of you look down at Korra. Asami rests her right hand on Korra’s cheek, rubbing her thumb back and forth on it.
You lean down and place your finger under Korra’s chin, pushing it up a little as your lips touch hers. Korra closes her eyes and moves her right hand up to your neck, her thumb caressing your skin while her tongue slides in your mouth.
You suck on her tongue and move your head up and down. Korra tilts her head to the left while swirling her saliva around your mouth.
Asami’s fingers move down to Korra’s left nipple, the glint in her eyes sparkles as she catches the goosebumps rising on Korra’s skin.
Asami leans down, opening her mouth, her teeth gently brush against Korra’s earlobe, which earns both of you a muffled whimper from Korra. Korra lays her head back on the towel, her lips covered with your saliva. You lick your bottom lip and shiver as Korra brings her hand back down your back and moves it over to your asscheek, gripping it a little before rubbing it.
Korra turns her head to Asami and smiles. Asami leans closer and captures Korra’s lips, sucking her bottom lip before licking the tip of Korra’s tongue up and down.
Your hand comes over to rub Korra’s right nipple, and you bite down on your bottom lip as Korra smacks your asscheek hard before gripping it. The veins in her right hand become prominent as you look down at it.
Korra leans into the kiss more, shoving her tongue further in the kiss, suffocating Asami a little, only to pull back. Korra stares down at Asami, who smirks at her and glances down at her breasts that slip out from her crop top. Asami then pulls the crop top again, and you turn Korra’s head back to you.
“You both are trouble,” Korra whispers out breathlessly. You and Asami laugh as the two of you look back at each other. Asami winks at you and looks back at Korra.
“Well, it’s only fair, baby girl, you’ve been teasing us this entire trip, and when we try to do something about it, you make sure we don’t,” Asami replies, and you hum in agreement. You lie back down on the towel and rest your head on Korra’s chest.
Staring up at the sky, the many clouds are turning into different shapes, some hiding the planes that pass.
“I’ve just been existing.” Korra whines, and you laugh, “You’ve been doing a lot more than that, baby, just admit it.” You rasp as you look back at her.
Asami stands, fixing her bikini as she does, she holds her hands out for you and Korra. You take it first and look down at Korra, who is still comfortably lying on the towel.
“Come on, Kor, you should feel how nice the water is,” Asami begs, and Korra listens immediately and takes her hand. The three of you walk back to the water, and you throw water onto Korra before swimming away quickly.
“Oh, you’re so gonna get it!” She shouts, and you laugh, turning on your back as you float while looking back at her and Asami. “You gotta catch me first, pretty girl.”
Asami laughs, and Korra pulls her further into the water, being careful not to hurt her as the two laugh while you keep swimming away. Thinking you’ve gotten away quickly, you scream underwater as you feel someone grab your feet, and someone wrap their arms around your waist.
Getting pulled up from the water, you see Asami by your feet and feel Korra behind you, who presses a bunch of kisses on your neck to calm you down.

The TLOK fandom on here is really fascinating because you can really see the impact of the disjointed seasons on it -- Season 1 had an EXTREMELY different feel and vibe to it than the rest of the show because it was created when the writers expected to only have one season, so it seems to have its own fandom that's really separated from everyone else, and they mostly focus on the dynamics of Season 1, and Noatak and Tarrlok.
Seasons 3 and 4 have most of the rest of the fans, who do dynamics and villain analyses almost purely based off of those seasons, focusing on Zaheer and Kuvira, as well as the more worldbuilding that occurred during these seasons, and sometimes wrap the events of Season 2 into them.
And Season 2 had its own fanbase purely based in the Beginnings era, focusing on the dynamics of Raava and Vaatu and Wan (and ofc. the waava shippers!), but we seem to be pretty few and far between at this point and mostly know each other personally through a web of mutuals and mutuals-in-law.
Bolin, Korra, and Asami are the most attractive characters in-universe of The Legend of Korra
Okay look. we always talk about how hot the TLOK cast is to us, the viewers. but can we talk about how the actual in-universe narrative bending over backwards to prove that Bolin, Korra, and Asami are the ultimate attractive triad of Republic City?
Like, the gravity these three pull is absolutely insane. Let’s look at the actual text because the receipts are sending me:
1. BOLIN (The Charisma Magnet 🪨)
I mean, Bolin literally had lines of fangirls screaming his name during his pro-bending era. But it’s the sheer variety of women who threw themselves at him that proves his power. He managed to attract:
A terrifying, goth, waterbending princess (Eska)
A literal high-society Nuktuk movie star (Ginger)
An incredibly talented, sweet airbending master (Opal)
This young man has a 100% success rate across every element and social class. His vibes are just universally elite.
2. KORRA (The Total Knockout 🌊)
Korra walked into Republic City and immediately put the entire population in a chokehold. The sheer volume of people who tried their luck with her is wild:
Bolin immediately folded and brought her to a noodle shop.
Tahno tried to use his "pretty boy" intimidation tactics to hit on her at the noodle shop because he couldn't handle her energy (before Korra and Naga humbled him, obviously).
Mako spent a whole season brooding because he couldn't deny his feelings.
Prince Wu literally wouldn't stop making passes at her.
And Asami Sato—the most eligible bachelorette in the world—gradually fell completely and utterly in love with her.
3. ASAMI (The In-Universe Goddess 🏎️)
Asami’s beauty is literally a hazard to public safety.
Mako forgot how to speak English the exact second she knocked him over with her moped. It was instant, catastrophic love at first sight.
Meelo—a literal child—stopped mid-sentence, stared her down, and formally addressed her as "beautiful woman." Even the next generation recognizes her power!
Prince Wu tried to slide into her DMs the second he met her.
And Korra, after years of letters, deep bonding, and spiritual growth, looked at her and realized yup, that is my wife.
What do you guys think? Who has the highest pull in-universe?
if korra was less americanized do you think itd have been better received ?
Honestly, not really. Like tlok's 'American vibe' may have been the sole turnoff for a handful of purists. But most tlok haters throw it in as an afterthought and that often mixes with a dislike of the technological advancements in tlok, as if a world without white ppl wouldn't have cars. I don't think it was the nail in the coffin for most potential viewers.
Honestly, most people I see who actually note the americanisation of tlok are tlok fans themselves. Because frankly most tlok haters wouldn't hive the show the time of day to even formulate a nuanced complaint. Which is why they've been whining about Toph being a cop and Korra not being Aang 2.0 for more than a decade now.
Note: When I say Red Lotus in this post, I am referring to Zaheer’s four man team unless otherwise noted.
Azula and the Red Lotus are arguably the Gaang and Krew’s most iconic villains, beloved for challenging their respective Team Avatar not just physically, but mentally as well with their tactics and mind games.
That and, as of the time of this post, they are the ones who have come closest to killing their era’s Avatar, with Azula actually succeeding in (temporarily) killing Aang.
So it is no surprise that fans often theorize what would happen if they ever teamed up, either in a what-if situation with all five of them in their primes, or an elderly Azula teaming with the Red Lotus after the events of TLOK or in a AU, and for good reason.
Imagine P’Li and Azula applying pressure using their unprecedented control over combustionbending and lightningbending respectively.
Imagine all the combos Ming Hua and Azula could pull off with their deadly and precise bending.
Imagine Ghazan and Azula slowly but surely overwhelming opponents with their mastery over their rare sub-element bending arts of lavabending and smokebending respectively.
(Yes, this post assumes that the smoke that Azula and the Fire Warriors produced while masquerading as the Kemurikage in Smoke and Shadow was generated through smokebending.)
(Moreover, that smokebending is a rare sub-element of firebending considering no else before or after the events of Smoke and Shadow have been shown to (purposefully) generate smoke, let alone with the control that Azula and the Fire Warriors display.)
And imagine all the dastardly plots and mind games Zaheer and Azula would concoct as they meticulously plot to take down their shared foe(s).
However, there is one massive problem that would prevent the Red Lotus and Azula from ever teaming up: the fact that they would be moral enemies.
This is because the Red Lotus are anarchists who kill monarchs and loathe the concept of states, let authoritarianism. Meanwhile, Azula is a genocidal, colonizing, authoritarian monarch who believes in the divine right to rule.
(Yes, Azula is genocidal since, regardless of who you think actually came up with the plan to genocide the Earth Kingdom, the fact that Azula was eager to join Ozai in his failed offensive, and was upset only because he told her she couldn’t join, is proof that is she more than ok with genocide.)
Therefore, if Azula and the Red Lotus were to ever meet each other, they wouldn’t join forces, but instead would try to kill each other, viewing the other as the embodiment of everything they fight against.
Hell! Considering how diametrically opposed they are to each other, they might even join whatever version of Team Avatar is present to take out their opponent.
“Ok, you bring up a good point about how their diametrically opposed ideologies would make them natural enemies. But you don’t think they don’t have enough pragmatism to temporarily join forces and take out their shared opponent(s) before turning on each other?”
Azula does considering she was able to work with Long Feng and the Gaang to overthrow the Earth Kingdom and find Ursa respectively, provided she isn’t actively psychotic of course, but not the Red Lotus.
This is because the Red Lotus not only spent over a decade in their tortious prison cells and didn’t rat out anyone involved with the broader Red Lotus organization, but also didn’t rat out Unalaq, who betrayed them and the broader Red Lotus organization.
So no, the Red Lotus and Azula would not be able to overcome their deeply-held ideological differences to form a pragmatic partnership.
“But wouldn’t they be able to realize that they are natural allies, even for a temporary amount of time, considering they both want to end the Avatar cycle and commit mass murder?”
Ugh, as much as it disgusts me to type this out, Azula and the Red Lotus want to end the Avatar cycle and commit mass murder for different, totally incompatible reasons.
Azula wants to genocide any group of people who refuse to recognize the Fire Nation’s (supposed) innate superiority and submit to their rule, and therefore wants to end the Avatar cycle, or at least kill the current Avatar, because the Avatar is the only being capable of stopping the Fire Nation from imposing its will on the world.
Meanwhile, even assuming the Red Lotus is aware of Vaatu’s desire to eliminate humanity, they want to release Vaatu and reopen the spirit portals, regardless of how many casualties occur, because they think it will give people true freedom, and thus lead to a better world.
Accordingly, they seek to end the Avatar cycle because the Avatar, by their nature as the Avatar of the Spirit of Light and Peace, would be diametrically opposed to their plan and never stop fighting them, even if they successfully release Vaatu and reopen the spirit portals.
Or in other words, Azula and the Red Lotus’ reasons for trying to end the Avatar cycle and attempting to commit mass murder are tied to their diametrically opposed worldviews.
“But Azula from Smoke and Shadow onward creates chaos with her schemes of hers. So maybe her and the Red Lotus aren’t as diametrically opposed as you make them out to be.”
Even if the means of achieving her goals are chaotic due to her lacking mental health, everything Azula has done post-Sozin’s Comet is consistent with her being a genocidal, authoritarian monarch who believes in the divine right to rule.
For it is explicitly said multiple times in the comics and extended lore that she wants to either turn Zuko into a tyrant like their forefathers before them, or if that fails, retake the throne so she can sheer the Fire Nation back in the direction it was under Sozin, Azulon, and Ozai.
Therefore, all learning about Azula’s efforts to return the Fire Nation to its former “glory” would do in the eyes of the Red Lotus is turn her from a despicable tyrant and oppressor who needs to be punished for her crimes to a mad dog who needs to be put down for the sake for freedom.
But in no case would it make Azula and the Red Lotus any less antagonistic towards each other.
So to conclude, even though on the surface they would seem to be natural allies, Azula and the Red Lotus’ deep ideological differences rooted in the fact that Azula is a genocidal, authoritarian monarchist while the Red Lotus are spiritually attuned anarchists would make them natural enemies.
In fact, the real question about a potential Azula-Red Lotus team up should not be how they would work together, but instead who would be driven to ally with the version of Team Avatar present to take down the other.
