This bit from Top Marks For Murder reminded me of another moment in Mistletoe And Murder

And this is gonna come out all rambly and likely NOT make sense but "Alexander dislikes lying more than anyone else I know" and the fact Hazel recognises and records this is so important for Halexander's relationship as Daisy goes on to say "all marriages are essentially two people lying" which ofc coming from Daisy who's Hazel's best friend would be really impactful,,, Alex would never lie to Hazel and we know this and the books are telling us theyre perfect for each other!!!

In conclusion ig: Hazel and Alex break against Daisy's beliefs that all marriages are all lies because we KNOW he hates lying and so by breaking against a belief held by an Important Character we know they're going to make it through!!!

19. Best location

Cambridge University!!! The vibes are immaculate, Bertie's there, the night climbing... impeccable. MAM did in fact set off a fixation on Cambridge Uni for a while

The Body In The Blitz! I love the fact that you can see May, Eric and Nuala's faces, because I can't see characters' faces in my head :D also Eric with Pfote and May in his shorts!!!

I also love ALL the American covers for this reason. There is also something to be said for the gorgeous shininess of Death Sets Sail

25. Favourite character who's like mentioned maybe once

Lallie Thompson-Bates! (She's in Top Marks For Murder). Both her parents are attempted murderers, so are probably locked up and I always feel for Lallie and what happens to her. I think she has a lot in common with Hazel and I actually have a few snippets of a fic with them talking about their parents

PLEASE don't come for me but I appear to be entering a Stephen Bampton apologist era,,, Mr Curtis was a homewrecker and scammer we don't know how many times over, so yes I can't say I was too devastated when he started feeling ill

11. Most unhinged Hazel moment

Simply being friends with Daisy,,, also that time in TMFM when the fireworks went off and she decided to hide in a BOX instead of getting to safety??? Like I appreciate she was staying there for Daisy but SURELY it was better for both of them if she'd gone to get help and NOT ended up being near choked to death. Also that one time where she and Daisy necked a bottle of ipecac. why. awful decision.

28. Favourite George moment

ALL of Case Of The Missing Treasure (this ABSOLUTELY counts as a moment because it's a short story <3)

Daisy calls Lavinia, Kitty, Beanie and Hazel "dear detectives" in Top Marks For Murder 🥹🥹🥹

She's a lot... softer in this one, as is Lavinia and while I still dislike the plot, I think the characterisation in it is wonderful
