TMGIAB thoughts 1 (there will be probably more bc I love this game)
SPOILERS FOR END OF ACT 1 AND ACT 2
Okay so I noticed something about the designs of the monsters in this game, I am going to start with the one of Mr.Monster because it's the first we see.
I like how his design is really influenced by Magician being responsible for the transformation, there are a lot of similarities between the pixie/Calem MG (magical girl) form and Mr.Monster (such as the presence of diamond and triangular shapes, the pompom at the tip of his ears like the one at the tip of Calem's hat, the ears in general being formed like the tip of a hat, etc...).
However the monster form of Eden made me ask some questions about the process and Magician's powers.
I don't know if I didn't analyzed it well, but Eden's design in there is pretty much the opposite of Magician's/Calem MG design (the only things being a ref to Magician's magic that I found are the diamond shape on Eden's forehead and the triangle under his eyes). Well first of, it's very much made to be a ref to Eden's Halloween costume and him in general (the warm colors, the knives, the spooky and messy aspect, etc...). But the only difference between Mr.Monster and Eden's monster form are the people their negative emotions are directed toward. For Mr.Monster, it was toward Tabbie and other personal problems, and for Eden it was toward Tabbie AND Calem. And Calem being the one using the magic, maybe it is a way of showing Calem have less influence on Eden's monster form than the one of Mr.Teacher ? I mean manipulation would work that way, if someone doesn't like the manipulator then they are less likely to be manipulated by said person.
So maybe Magician's powers can use people's emotions but the limit is who the emotion is directed toward, he cannot control that, and it probably impact the influence he have on them.
