Finally finished a prompt for @themerlinlibrary ‘s 10 year anniversary event! This prompt included “Haunt” and “Ghosts” and was for the death song of uther pendragon, so I imagined a scenario where Merlin uses the horn to call Arthur from beyond the gates. 👻 spoOooOky (also I had my sad playlist on lol so, brownie points if u know the songs)

Rewrite of 5x03 The Death Song of Uther Pendragon: In which Arthur married Merlin instead of Gwen at the end of season 4. When Arthur releases Uther’s ghost with the Horn of Cathbhadh, Uther is furious that Arthur has legalized magic and married a sorcerer.

summary: Merlin and Arthur have been trudging through snow for hours, and when they finally find some shelter, it's not warm enough to keep them alive. Merlin has no other choice. He has to reveal his magic and hope that Arthur won't try to stop him from using it. What he doesn't expect though, is Arthur grinning at him in response.
