Had my nerve conduction study today! ^_^ It hurt like a motherfucker, and that comes from someone with a high pain tolerance jdjfkfkfk.
They were like "hey we're gonna electrocute you for thirty minutes" and I was like "okayyy ♥️" but I was a FOOL. THAT SHIT ACTUALLY HURTS 😭😭
A Day in my Life: POTS Flare-up edition
Wake up from a 9hr sleep feeling fatigued. Take medication, have breakfast, and make a coffee. The coffee does nothing to help my tiredness. Change into the same clothes I've been wearing for the past week.
Too tired to brush my teeth or hair. Return to bed and distract myself from my migraine and stomach ache by petting my cat. Take pain meds. Get overstimulated by the cat. Have an hour long nap.
Wake up and have my mother deliver me ice cubes because drinking water is too painful and nauseating. I manage a protein bar also, but the stomach pain brings me to tears.
Sit in bed in a dark and silent room for an undetermined amount of time. Scroll tumblr. Suffer from medical trauma flashbacks. Scroll tumblr some more.
Eat dinner. Try not to throw up. Have my brother retrieve my headphones for me to deal with another migraine. Try not to think about all of the homework piling up. Take my evening meds.
Slowly wash my hair in the shower with the help of my shower chair. Don't have the energy to wash my body. Sit down and get my mother to dry my hair for me. Return to bed. Wait for the room to stop spinning.
did some walking and talking today at a disability expo and i was so dizzy and disoriented that i kept having to sit down.
did a three minute oral presentation at university the other day and had to lie down on the floor of the classroom with headphones afterwards for an hour.
literally any social outting with friends puts me out for two days.
why does talking fatigue me so badly???? :,(

I'm in my fourth and final year of university and all of my energy is going towards that. I just completed an eight week long placement, and now that it's over, I'm crashing hard.
I've finally convinced my mum to let me investigate getting vascular surgery. The appointment for that is next week. My body feels like it's falling apart. I hope the surgery is viable and I hope it'll fix me.
I wish there was a way to just Obtain nutrients without the hassle of consuming things. I hate eating and the pain that it causes. Attempting to find food to eat is so hard with all of my intolerances, especially since I'm unable to go grocery shopping and have to rely on my parents remembering to buy me food. Whenever people complain about difficulty eating, the usual recommendation is "get a tube" or "try a liquid diet" but both of those involve the food going to your intestines anyway which is what I'm trying to avoid. Like, I don't want to digest stuff. Can I skip that part?
"Okay, you're fructose intolerant, so the only fruits you can eat are citrus and stone fruit. Wait, you're also polyol intolerant so you actually can't have stone fruit. Oh, you're histamine intolerant too, so you can't have citrus. Vegetables? Well vegetables also have fructose and polyols. And you're gluten intolerant too so no gluten-containing grains but be aware that the remaining grains have fructans anyway. And you can't have galactans so no nuts or lentils. And cane sugar is 50% fructose so any product with sugar is also not allowed, but you can't have sugar substitutes either because those usually have polyols. And because of your POTS you can't have anything heavy or high volume, so limit both your carb and protein intake. Also soy makes POTS worse too so avoid that."
