Detailed Colour and Lighting analysis of Ramil and Paytai
Ramil's current mood and perception of their relationship is always visually portrayed.
Here Paytai is sitting very far away from him because Ramil is distanced out of jealousy and anger. Even when Paytai comes to him, there is a large gap between them. Adding to that, they are visually separated by the window in the back. The blue splits the screen right down the middle showing Ramil's insecurity and suppressed anger. He isn't sure whether Paytai truly is "his". Despite again very obvious visual cues that tell us that Paytai considers himself bound to Ramil. They are wearing the same clothes! Considering the massive difference in their social status, this is almost impossible. Charan never wears the same clothes as Khanin. The same shirt tells us that they are in fact in an established relationship (comparable to couple's clothing) but taking their social ranks into consideration and that they are wearing this inside where no one actually sees them, this is just Ramil wanting to reinforce his ownership over Paytai. Their conversation always circles around Paytai belonging to Ramil. Despite the visual blue split, the lighting and colouring is the same for both of them. So, this "gap" is only because Ramil creates it himself out of insecurity.
Paytai does his best to close the gap as he moves closer and closer. You see the original blue split moving to the side more and more over the scene until Paytai passes the red blindfold to Ramil as his ultimate signature of belonging to Ramil. The red might have been a choice to portray sexuality and sensuality but as this is a question if belonging, it does remind me of the red string theory. In this, you are bound to your soulmate by a red string.
