In Avengers Tower, Tony’s room is soundproof.
One day, after finishing up his work in the lab, Peter wanders through Tony’s floor, just exploring, intending only to peek around and then return to the living room where Tony is quietly watching a documentary.
But the second he steps inside Tony’s bedroom, he melts.
All this time, New York’s usual noise had felt louder than ever because of his Spider-Sense. But suddenly, in here, every sound suddenly vanished.
Silence. Absolute, warm silence, like the world pressed pause just for him. Wraps him in a way he’d never felt before.
Before he even realizes it, he’s sinking onto Tony’s bed, closing his eyes, trying to savor the moment… but the moment stretches, and he falls asleep.
Tony, noticing Peter hasn’t returned for a long time, eventually wanders through his apartment. Seeing the kid sprawled across his bed, it’s not hard for him to guess what brought him here.
Without a word, Tony curls up next to him, and something unspoken settles between them.
And from that point, there’s no turning back.
No matter how much Peter insists he wants to stay with May instead of in Avengers Tower, it always ends the same way; curled against Tony’s chest, in his arms, Tony quietly calling May to let her know lab work ran late.
And in that quiet, that stillness, they both find something they didn’t even know they were looking for.
(thats why years later tony build them a soundproof house and barely accept guests. because he only wants to peter hear his heart beat)
