could you make a blurb of Tom holland x reader when they have a daughter and she hears someone call him ‘Tom’ so she copies
Never done a blurb before so hope you all enjoy this!
‘Tom’ || Tom Holland
Toms friends were over today, he invited them to come and chill by the pool on the hot day. Music played in the background as you all sat around and in the pool, talking and having laughs. Yours and Toms daughter, Darcy, was swimming with the help of her uncles, Harry and Sam.
She had her arm bands on, helping her to stay afloat. The young Holland was only 2 years old, she could just about talk. You decided to dip your feet into the pool, the cool water hitting your legs. You watch your beautiful daughter splash and laugh as the boys messed around in the pool.
Harrison then ran and jumped into the pool, making a big splash of water go all over you and Darcy. “Harrison!” You squeal as all the water flew into your drink. He came up from being under the water and just smirked laughing at the splashes of water on your body.
“uwcle Hawrrison, you splash” Darcy wines rubbing her eyes as the water had splashed all over her. “Sorry little one” He chuckled at the cute girl pulling her close to him, so she’s resting on his hip. He moved her hair from her face, placing a kiss on her forehead.
“Yo Tom! Jump in!” Harrison called his best friend, who sat down next to you placing a small kiss on your lips.
Tom wrapped his arm around your shoulder, “In a little while” Tom took a sip from his beer using his free hand.
“Come on Tom, you haven’t even gotten in for ages” Harrison said splashing him to try get him to come inside the pool. Darcy copying his actions and splashing you both, giggling when Tom kicked the water up at the pair.
Darcy was then next to speak, “Tom come play” She made grabby hands wanting her father to come in the pool with her. Everyone was silent for a minute realising that she had called him ‘Tom’ and not ‘daddy’ like she usually did or ‘dada’.
Harrison chuckled a little as he saw Toms face. “What did you call me?” He chuckled a little as the girl wiggled out of Harrison’s hold to swim to her mum and dad.
“Tom” She smiled.
“No, no. Baby, it’s daddy. Not Tom” He said as everyone started to laugh even you.
“Come, pwease Tom” she held onto his legs trying to pull him in. Then she turned to you, “Mummy I want him in” she said. Everyone knew Darcy was a daddy’s little girl.
“So you can call her mummy not y/n and you call me Tom?” Tom placed his beer down with a pout.
“Go on Tom, play with her” You smirk teasing him a little. “Yeah Tom” Harry smirked as well.
Tom slowly pulled himself into the pool, bring his daughter close to him. “Yay! Can we plwy now” She asked him, Tom still not liking her saying his name.
“First you have to say my name, my name you usually call me” He held onto her close.
“Tom” She smiled making him pout even more and a whine left his mouth.
“Noo. Darcy, love. It’s daddy, not Tom. Just daddy or dada, anything else but Tom” He pleaded waiting for her to say his usual name. That’s when Harrison whispered something into her ear, making her giggle.
“Thomas?” She questioned with a giggle.
Everyone started to laugh at the little girl and her father. Tom however pouted. “Harrison!” He whined.
The little girl tried to swim to her uncle Haz, Tom held onto her tickling her sides making the girl giggle. He loved her laugh. “Stop. T-thomas” She screamed as he continued.
“Stop calling me that and i’ll stop. Call me ‘daddy’ or ‘dad’ anything” He kept ticking her sides and stoped a little waiting for her to say a name.
“Daddy, stop” She smiled and he smiled back liking this name better, his actual name. He let go of the girl as she tried to swim over to Harrison. He held onto her arm pulling her closer.
“Tom” She began to giggle again, Tom swimming over to them. Harrison held onto the girl swimming away from Tom, laughs fell out of all there mouths.

You were his darling- you had been for almost eighteen months now. Any time he would talk to you or about you he would refer to you as darling or his darling. Rarely was it your name, and he would even go as far as acting confused when interviewers, friends or family referred to you as his girlfriend, only correcting them and saying "Oh! You mean my darling Y/n?" afterwards.
It had also gotten you through many tough times; bringing immense reassurance in times of uncertainty, great calm in times of stress, and an overwhelming calm on restless nights where all you could do was toss and turn in bed.
"What's your name, darling?" you turn towards your boyfriend, thinking that he called for you, "Should I write your name?" seeing Tom leaning over the cluttered table and smiling at the young woman who's shirt you'd just signed, your own smile falling at the realization.
Finishing up with the signature, Tom laughs at something the girl says before biding her goodbye and greeting the young boy next in line. You frown, an ache in your chest which you only ever feel while reading a very sad book tugging at your heartstrings.
It was stupid, really, to be upset over a simple nickname. But... it didn't feel simple or irrelevant to you, not after the comfort it kept giving you in your darkest moments.
You cover it up with a half smile, turning back towards the two girls in front of you, the last ones in the line. "Hey," you greet them with faked excitement. They both giggle before one of them, the one you presumed to be older, started gushing over your role in the new Loki show.
"Did you already know that you were getting the part when you were filming Ragnarok?" the younger one asks and you look up from the necklace they had given you with a now genuine smile.
"Well, no. Not entirely, anyway," you laugh, "but they could hardly introduce a love interest and not continue the story, right?" you wink.
Pulling your hair over one shoulder and putting the chain with the purple pendant around your neck, you thank the girls again. They smile at you even wider, not seeming to believe that you wore it, "It reminded us of your suit!" the older one quips, "It's so cool that you have a new 'Shadowbreaker suit' for the show, and not the same one as in the movie."
"Aw, yeah, I know. We had a full mood board for the new suit, and besides, the tight letter and cape don't make me look half bad." you all laugh, they nod in agreement before waving goodbye and walking over to Tom.
Getting tapped on the shoulder, you turn to see one of the convention workers standing behind you. You smile at him in greeting, "Ms. Y/l/n, we have your shuttle ready to take you to the panel- just through those doors there." he nods to the side, gesturing at a pair of metal double doors in the back of the hall.
You move to stand, flatting out the short purple dress you had worn to honor your character, "Thank you," you look down and inspect the id-card hanging around his neck, "Robert."
Walking through the emergency exit doors your smile falls, no longer having to fake happiness as you walked over to the cart. Sitting on the back of it you look up at your security, Eddy, leaning against it.
"You alright?" he asks, arms crossed over his chest. Inspecting you over the rim of his sunglasses, he sees you leaning over your knees and taking calming breaths.
"Umm- Yeah. Sure, I'm just tired after all this." your hand points towards the back of the large building, you cart being parked in a loading alley.
"Uhu, sure." he comments, and you scowl up at him, "I've worked for you for what? Four years?" he smiles.
"Almost five, and you know I hate it when you say that," you hit his arm gently, a smile growing on your face.
"What I mean is- I know you, Y/n. Which means that I also knows when your lying to me. You get that deep wrinkle between your brows when your tired," his laugh is boisterous as he flicks you with a finger between the brows.
"Hey! I do not!" it's time for you to cross your arms defensively now. Eddy lifts a brow at you, eyes widening as if asking 'oh, really'. You take a breath, looking down at your feet and then up again, "Okay, you win Eddy. It's just- it's To-"
You sit up straight as the metal doors open once more, this time Tom and Robert walk out and head the short distance to you. "Darling!" Tom greets, both him and Eddy noting the way you try to hide your flinch.
Your boyfriend's eyebrows scrunch together in question as he sits down next to you, Eddy and Robert sitting in the front. The team of security following your boyfriend fit into an identical cart behind yours, following as Robert started driving towards the part of the building with the large stage.
"You okay, darling?" Tom inquires, you being successful at hiding the second involuntary flinch it sent through your body. You just nod slowly, hearing Eddy tell Tom that you were just tired. Oh, God bless you, Eddy!
You couldn't help but feel betrayed in some weird way, him sharing something that meant so much to you with other people.
Getting through the panel without problem, forgetting your sadness in the moments that Tom pulled you closer or held your hand, you got to you hotel room just after the darkness had set.
Damn him for still having such sway over you even when he hurt you. He hadn't even noticed!
"Should we just order room service and watch movies tonight?" Tom asks after locking the hotel door, saying goodnight to your security who had the surrounding rooms. Planning on ignoring your sadness from today and hoping to get over it, you nod with a smile before going to take off your makeup.
Toweling your face and applying moisturizer, you allow your thoughts to run wild. "Fuck," you sigh, thinking back to the time you and Tom had agreed on talking about your feelings and problems to avoid fights, and knew you had to talk to him about this.
Changing into one of Tom's long sleeved shirts which went to your mid-thigh, you sat against the pillows on your side of the bed. Taking a calming breath to prepare for the conversation you were about to have, you pull your hands into the sleeves and blow a hot breath against your knuckles.
"Tom?" you call into the suite, your boyfriend coming to stand in the doorway, "We need to talk." you cringe immediately, sounding like some teen drama show.
"Did something happen? Is everything okay?" his eyes widen in slight panic as he sat down opposite you on the middle of the bed, "Did I do something?" You lay a calming hand on his leg to slow his thoughts.
"Well, I wanted to talk about today," Tom scrunches his nose in confusion, "I wasn't just tired today, I was-"
You took a breath and looked up at Tom, meeting his gaze he takes your hand in both of his and squeezing it reassuringly. "I was hurt by what you said to that girl. And I don't know if i-" there was a knock on the room, interrupting you.
The man in front of you looked between you and the door, torn between what to do. On one hand he wanted nothing more than to listen to what you were saying, but he also knew that they wouldn't leave if he didn't open. "It's the room service," he explains.
He must have rung down whilst you were getting ready. You nod, squeezing his hand as another set of knocks sounded through the suite. "Go. I will still be here when you come back," you try to joke but knowing that Tom wasn't in any mood to find it funny. You offer a weak smile in consolation, instead.
He moves out the room, not turning his back to you and keeping his sight at you before almost running to get the door.
You can hear muffled voices from the sitting room, wrapping your arms around yourself as you wait. Hearing the door closing and hurried steps heading in your direction, you stand to leave the room.
Shaking his head in no, Tom leads you back to the bed and sits you both down without a word. "But the food, Tom?"
"It can wait. This can't." he shrugs before nodding at you to continue.
"Okay," you bite your bottom lip in thought, how should you phrase this, "I guess I just thought the whole 'darling' thing was kind of our thing..." you whisper, embarrassed.
Tom looks at you quizzically, "Y/n..." you choose to interrupt him before he can finish,
"I know! I know! It's a normal thing, and I swear it's not that I'm jealous because I know you love me, but... It just means a lot to me- it's come to mean a lot to me, thanks to you, and it kind of caught me off guard is all." a small self-deprecating chuckle escapes your lips.'
Looking into his eyes, you see a tentative grin growing on his lips, "Oh! What now? I know it's stu-"
Pressing his lips against yours, choking out any chance you had at continuing, he wraps his hands behind your neck and in your hair. Pulling you closer into him, he lets a small laugh escape through your meshing lips.
"You are the cutest thing, pet." he smiles, keeping you close even after pulling away to talk. You search his face for any hint of his own thoughts but saw nothing except that stupidly wide grin and a sparkle in his eye.
"What?" you breathe, unsure of what was happening.
"Of course it's an 'us thing', darling, I just didn't know it meant that much to you," he gives you a series of soft pecks on your nose.
All you can do is nod, "Well then, darling," he drawls with a thick accent, "I won't do it again, ever. Will that make you happy, pet?"
Insecurity takes over you, convincing you that perhaps you were overreacting to something insignificant. "I don't want you to have to change anything," you murmur.
"I dont have to do anything, Y/n. I want to. I want to do it if it will make you happy, besides, I want the entire world to know that you, and only you, are my darling."
You nod, finally smiling at him and giving him one finally kiss, "Now, can we please eat?"
A/N: I had a lot of fun writing this, and I might make Eddy a recurring character for when the reader needs her own security team/security guard! Hope you like it!
tom holland x reader where she's really tired and stressed from uni and comes home and has an anxiety attack and cries so tom comforts her and pampers her until she eventually falls asleep sitting in his lap and her head tucked in the crook of his neck and lots of fluff and forehead kisses
y/n has had quite possibly the worst, most stressful week of her life. homework, projects, exams, presentations… it’s too much for her to handle at one time. she has barely had time to eat the last few days due to her overwhelming amount of assignments. her brain is fried, she’s desperate for a break. she can’t remember the last time she ate a nice meal and actually felt full. or taking time to wash her hair. it seems like the last few weeks have been work, work, work.
“maybe you should take a break, darling”. It’s past eight p.m. when tom comes into the room. he sees y/n hunched over at her desk frantically typing notes and scribbling calculations. he sighs, knowing she hasn’t stopped to eat or to hydrate herself. she groans out of frustration proving that she needs a well-deserved break.
the room is quiet for a while. the only noises that can be heard are her fingers lightly tapping at the keyboard. “darling”. tom walks over to her, now standing next to her. from here he can see the dark circles under her eyes, her uncomfortably hunched back, her dry lips.
she shakes her head, only now acknowledging his presence. “i can’t”, is all she says, not stopping her typing. tom sighs. he hates how stressed she has been lately and he hates even more how useless he feels that he can’t help her. tom’s eyes scan the dozens of sprawled out papers of formulas she has written over the last few hours. he notices how each piece of paper seems to become sloppier, a sign that her hand got tired, fast. y/n proves it by wincing as she rubs the muscle under her thumb. it’s swollen and red and tom frowns as he reaches for her hands.
“you need a break, come”, he says softly. y/n frantically shakes her head, still looking at her computer.
she protests at his requests. “no, i can’t stop. i need to finish”, her voice only comes out as a whisper. she tries to free her hands from his grasp but he tightens his hold. this makes her snap her eyes to him. not out of anger, out of fear. she’s scared she’s not going to finish her assignments on time. she’s scared that if she allows herself to rest she’ll have more work to do tomorrow. “no, no, no”. y/n is begging, pleading now. it hurts tom to see her like this, which is why his hold on her doesn’t let up.
“you need to eat, please”. tom’s voice is soft compared to hers. y/n’s voice is cracking as the anxiety builds up inside of her. she crying. tears are running down her face as she gasps to catch her breath. her hands are shaking and she starts to sweat, telltale signs that her anxiety is getting the best of her. “c’mere”, he says softly. tom softly wraps his arms around her waist as she cries into him. as much as it hurt to cry, it felt good to feel something, she has been on autopilot the past few weeks.
“tom”, she squeaks out between cries. her arms wrap around his shoulders as she’s picked up and brought over to the bed. tom sits with his back against the headboard, her straddling him as she continues to cry.
“my sweet girl”, he coos. tom hates to see his love this way. one hand strokes her hair, while the other softly rubs her back, a motion that brings her comfort. “you’ve been working so hard, my darling. you need to prioritize your rest”. he’s right, she knows he is. she has been letting her work get the best of her, lately. it’s just so much easier said than done. she tries to explain herself to him, but it comes out broken between her whimpering. “it’s okay, love. i’m not mad. i just don’t like seeing you so worked up”. her cries have died down and are only soft gasps as she regains control of herself. “let me take care of you tonight, please?”. his lips softly press against her temple, forehead, eyelids… anywhere he could reach. y/n nods and wipes her eyes softly.
he smiles softly before going to run y/n a bath. tom sits on the edge of the tub and helps wash her hair and scrub the tricky spots she can’t reach. he even helps detangle her hair and puts them into two braids. they weren’t the best looking, but it looked a lot better than what she had done with it recently.
tom gives her a shirt and pair of boxers to sleep in before heating up some leftovers for her to enjoy. she’s quiet as she gratefully chews the meat and potatoes dish. as she eats, tom saves her documents and softly closes her laptop. she had done enough work tonight. her loose papers are neatly stacked on top of the desk and y/n smiles at him sleepily at her caring boyfriend. she doesn’t have enough energy to speak, so she just watches as he picks up the broken pieces of her.
“all done?”, he asks. tom places the empty dish on the bedside table and brings his sleepy girl into his lap. the pair stay in silence for a while, just syncing up their breathing and appreciating each other. tom’s hand rubbing her back makes her eyelids heavy and she’s rests her head into him. tom let’s out a small sigh in relief, happy that he could finally help her. “is my girl feeling better?”, he softly asks. y/n smiles in the crook of his neck and weakly nods.

“Get out of my sight, will you?”, he angrily snaps at you out of nowhere, for the third time already on this still very early day. Furiously, he stomps past you, pushing you to the side harshly, the filled glasses on your tray swaying dangerously. Knowing that you should just leave him alone, you stand there completely frozen at the door, still feeling the breeze on your skin after he stormed past you.
The glasses clink on the serving tray as you try to keep your trembling hands under control, but you terribly fail while tears shoot into your eyes. A lump forms in your throat and you gasp in desperation, losing your composure after hearing the front door slam shut.
Slowly, you slump down and therefore with a loud rattle let happen what could have been foreseen already: a thousand shattered pieces of glass scattered across the floor around you while you cower against the wall, your elegant dress pulled over your knees, your forehead leaning against it. Heavy sobs rock through your body and tears find their way down your cheeks, dripping from your chin onto the expensive fabric of your dress.
You just wanted to spend some time with him. Together, in the house of your parents, who went on a daily trip with their close friends early in the morning, all part of the most notorious popular pureblood families in the wizarding world – the Nott’s, the Macmillan’s, the Malfoy’s, the Lestrange’s. And if his parents were still alive, probably with the Riddle’s as well.
This is primarily the reason why you even are in this position right now; crying and huddled in the living room because your fiancé hates you profoundly.
After graduating from Hogwarts last year, the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, you, descendant of the pureblood Black family, got engaged to Tom Marvolo Riddle, the last living heir of the Riddle’s. He would offer you a good future, they said, and you would never have to worry about anything again.
But nobody knows that in reality, your own beloved fiancé really does not want to have anything to do with you. He does not even want to stay in the same room as you.
You can’t explain why he acts like this towards you. You do not know why he harbors such an abysmal hatred for you and any clear-headed, rational person would have done something about it long ago. Unfortunately for you, you feel the exact opposite for him.
Your heart belongs to him and only to him.
You have liked him since you first met him at Hogwarts, back in 1938, when the two of you were sorted into the Slytherin house. This initial friendly liking has quickly evolved into something more than that over the years and lead you to where you are now, at a point where you would have never seen yourself back then.
You have already tried everything to convince him that you are not as bad as he seems to think. Every morning you bring him his breakfast, you give him everything he needs. Even when you were still at Hogwarts, you always looked after him, finished his homework for him when he was too busy to do it by himself, and helped him pass all of his exams.
And not once did you hear a thank you. Not then and not now either.
Slowly gathering your thoughts together again, you rub the long sleeves of your velvet dress over your damp face, wiping away all of your tears before you get up on shaky legs and begin to clean up the mess that you have created. After you went back to the kitchen with the broken pieces and some injuries on your hands, your gaze longingly slides out the window.
Outside, the sun stands high over the magnificent garden of the mansion, making the clear water in the fountain shimmer in its bright light. A gentle breeze blows through the air and rustles through the perfectly cut trees that line a small path through the garden.
The loud, excited voices that suddenly roar through the house snap you out of your daydream and you quickly wipe the blood from your fingers before you step into the huge marble entrance hall. You arrive at the front door just in time to open it for your parents, who, to your surprise, did not come back alone. You are amazed to find not too familiar faces in front of you as they climb up the stairs to the door where you are still standing.
“And that has to be Y/N. Oh, how you have grown!”, an older man smiles friendly at you and you return his smile with a certain uncertainty in your face.
“Darling, we brought guests over for dinner today. You surely remember the Lestranges?”, your father announces happily and only now do the faces that you have seen at numerous balls and celebrations seem familiar again. Especially one.
“Reinhard?”, you ask in amazement when you spot him standing behind his parents, a big smile on his face when he sees you.
“Y/N, how nice to see you again”, he grins, carefully pushing his way past your parents in order to slightly bow venerably to you, taking your hand in his to place a kiss on the back of it. “It has been some time.”
“I am sure you have a lot to tell each other”, your mother mentions in a sweet voice, but before she can continue, she watches how your facial expression changes from one second to the other as you look past them, out into the yard.
Next to the carriage with which they have returned, Tom is standing now, petting one of the splendid noble white horses before he joins all of you.
“Tom! There you are, I was already wondering where you went”, your father says, visibly pleased when he too spotted his future son-in-law, drawing everyone’s attention to him.
“Reinhard?”
“Tom?”
Within a few seconds, the two former best friends lay in each other’s arms, obviously happy to finally see the other again.
“Let us go inside. We want to show you our newest masterpiece of art in our wonderful collection, come on”, your mother announces happily and leads the Lestranges inside, but not without turning around to you once more. “The children can catch up on what they have missed.”
“I can’t believe it! You are really here, Tom. Man, you look even better than at Hogwarts”, Reinhard laughs, playfully pushing Tom to the side while you watch them in silence. “What are you doing here with the Blacks?”
“They kindly took me in”, Tom lies to him and for a moment you think he threw you a glance out of the corner of his eyes after uttering these words. His statement makes Reinhard realize that you were still there with them, who had apparently completely forgotten that you were even there.
“I am so happy to see you again, Y/N!”, he grins and takes a step closer to you, probably to be able to take a closer look at you. “Still just as beautiful as I imagined. And just as smart, I guess?”
Reinhard’s sudden compliments make you blush and your cheeks glow, which is why you nervously avert your gaze from him, directly falling on Tom, who looks at the scene in front of him with incredible resentment.
Unlike Tom, Reinhard was always there for you. You spent a lot of time together in your school days and if your parents had known about your close friendship, you are sure that he would have been your fiancé by now. Which, to be honest, does not sound bad anymore right now.
And yet your heart still belongs to Tom.
When you all sit together at dinner later in the evening, where your parents are talking about irrelevant things like Ministry of Magic, you keep making eye contact with Reinhard, who seems to be staring at you.
“Is there something on my face?”, you ask uncertainly and put your glass back on the table when you can no longer bear his piercing gaze.
“No, no, not at all. I was just wondering how a beautiful witch like you could have become so much more stunning”, Reinhard winks at you, causing you to swallow hard. You are not used to getting compliments, especially not from a handsome young man like him. Before you can answer to him, however, there is a loud clink and you startle, your eyes immediately fixed on the cause of the noise.
The glass, which you have certainly placed far away from the edge, is now lying in your lap, the little liquid that was still inside now spread over your elegant evening gown. You move your chair back in shock when, in the corner of your eye, you see how Tom puts away his wand. And not only did you notice Tom just now, but the rest of them follow your gaze.
“Tom, darling, how about you tell our guests how you and our daughter got to know each other”, your mother suddenly prompts him, not even realizing that he has just deliberately spilled your drink on you. But why did he in the first place?
„I would love to“, Tom puts on a really believable smile that no one but you questions and starts telling them how you met and fell in love with each other. He tells one lie after another, explaining the web of lies that you have spun around you over time to make your relationship as credible as possible, at least in front of other people. And suddenly nobody cares about you or your still soaking wet dress anymore.
“What a wonderful story”, Mrs. Lestrange applauds and everyone else seems to be completely enthusiastic about Tom’s fairytale. To top it off, he then reaches across the table to take your hand in his, just like a real affectionate couple would do.
You lower your gaze as he gently strokes the back of your hand with his thumb, trying your best to not show how uncomfortable you are. Oh, how much you wish that this were real, that Tom would actually treat you like this when you are alone, the same way as he does in front of your parents.
But he does not and deep down you know that he will never do.
“So, you are engaged?”, Reinhard scrutinizes the statement of his former best friend, his eyes focused on you suspiciously, as if he is expecting an answer from you and not from Tom. A slight pressure on your hand makes you flinch and look up.
“Y-Yes”, you force a smile onto your lips, whereupon Tom seems satisfied with your answer, letting go of your hand again with a - what seemed to you like a – disgusted expression on his face.
An uncomfortable silence spreads between the three of you, which is drowned out by the loud conversation of the adults on the other side of the table. Finally, making up your mind, you clear your throat loudly and get up from your chair, gaining everyone’s attention in a matter of seconds.
“Excuse me, I have to go freshen up for a moment”, you explain with a slight polite bow before turning away to leave the dining room.
“Reinhard, would you be so kind and help Y/N”, Mr. Lestrange asks his son, who stands up with furrowed brows, apparently just as surprised about this sudden request as you, but then follows you out into the hallway with no further objection.
“I really do not need any help, thank you”, you try to get rid of him as you walk up the large staircase leading to the first floor together, only wanting to be alone.
“Dinner like these are totally boring anyway”, he chuckles softly and shows no intentions of leaving your side any time soon, which is why you do not even try to search for further arguments. He follows you to your room where you are able to tear yourself away from him to put on a new dress while he waits outside in front of the door.
With an equally elegant burgundy red dress you step out of your room after a few minutes, Reinhard’s eyes greeting you with a sparkle.
“Wow”, he breathes out barely audible and takes you hand without asking to swirl you around, causing your dress to fly around gorgeously. Unintentionally, warmth rises in your face again and your hearts makes a barely noticeable jump inside your chest when he looks deep into your eyes after catching you back in his arms.
The loud clearing of a throat behind you makes you turn around in shock, only to see that Tom himself is now standing at the end of the corridor, not seeming very enthusiastic.
“We did not see you there, Tom”, Reinhard disguises his obvious nervousness with a laugh, acting like Tom had just caught you in doing something he should not have seen. Tom, however, does not even react to his words, but looks past Reinhard at you, his eyebrows raised meaningfully.
But when you do not move under his piercing gaze, his facial expression changes and he quickly approaches you, Reinhard instinctively pushing you behind him so that you can only see Tom approaching further over his shoulder. Before neither you nor Reinhard can say or do anything, Tom has already pulled out his wand and aims it directly at Reinhard, who flies back through the air only a few seconds later, hitting the hard marble floor at the end of the corridor with a thud.
“What the-?!”
“Come with me”, Tom orders, now standing directly in front of you. When you stubbornly refuse, he suddenly grabs your wrist to pull you away from there. No matter how much you fight against his firm grip, you cannot tear yourself away from him as he pulls you into the closest room, which turns out to be the library.
Once there, you can finally free yourself from his tight grip, but before you can reach for the doorknob to leave immediately, he locks the door with a spell. Angrily, you turn to him, despair written all over your stunning face.
“What is this supposed to be, Tom? Let me out of here, now!”, you command him in a loud voice, not caring if anybody can hear.
“What did he want from you?”, he asks you urgently and steps closer to you. Since the door is in your back, every possible escape route is blocked, and you are caught.
“We just talked to each other, you know. Like normal people do”, you answer irritably and cross your arms in front of your chest, not in the mood to justify yourself, especially not in front of someone who does not care about you at all and not after what he has done.
“But that did not look like it.”
“Tom, stop it.”
“You belong to me and nobody else!”
These words coming out of his mouth echo loudly through the dark library, his face wrapped in an eerie candlelight. Before you can even control yourself and fully process what he said, you severely slap him.
Frightened by your own horrible deed, you immediately pull your hand away, your gaze filled with fear, but the anger that keeps building up inside of you winning the upper hand after all.
“How dare you call me your property?!”, you scream in rage and tears form in your eyes because of your uncontrollable anger. However, Tom needs a moment to collect his thoughts after your heavy smack before he can answer you.
“You are my fiancé”, he spits out coldly, a touch of shock in his voice, apparently not expecting you to react like this.
“And that does not make me nowhere near your property! You never treat me like your fiancé anyway, so why now all of a sudden?!”, you bicker at him, your voice loud and constant, even though you would like to flee from this situation right away if you were able to.
But Tom does not have an answer.
“Fine, okay. If you have nothing to say to me, like you never have, then I will go back now and ask my parents to end this damn failed engagement and engage me with someone else who truly cares for me!”
Suddenly, without letting you time to catch your breath after your outburst, he presses you with your back against the door completely, his hands tightly grabbing your wrists, a little too tight for your personal liking.
“You mustn’t do that”, he softly whispers, his head lowered as if he does not dare to look you in the eyes.
“What is stopping me?”, you hiss, still full of anger and – probably for the very first time – hatred towards him.
But when you feel his lips on yours all of a sudden, all of these emotions evaporate and all that remains is your racing heartbeat, which is being repaired at this very moment. You never would have thought that at some point in your life the moment would come when Tom Marvolo Riddle, who absolutely loathes his fiancé, kisses you.
After kissing you, he looks straight into your eyes, and the Tom you met in 1938 is standing in front of you again. The Tom you fell so deeply in love with.
“I can’t explain it to you”, he finally breaks the silence, his gaze directed to the floor as he moves away from you, giving you enough space to breathe regularly again. You, however, do not say anything but just stare at him.
“I was not aware that I am capable of feeling such feelings for someone. I am unfamiliar with this feeling and I did not know how to deal with it, Y/N. I treated you badly because I did not want it to be true, I did not want to accept it. I could not imagine having feelings for the little nuisance that has always been running after me”, Tom explains, choosing each and every single word very carefully, trying to put his emotions into words which does not really work the way he would like it to. But that is how you know him. You know that this confession must be extremely difficult for him, but you can’t help but feel a sense of relief inside of you.
“When?”, you ask and manage, with this tiny little word, to make him look up at you. “When did you know?”
“Since I have been here. You served me every day and took care of me, even though I wanted to push you away from me with all of my might. You have already helped me so many times in the past without me even asking, you have always accepted me for who I am”, he desperately tries to but his feelings into words, asking himself what he is even doing right now.
“Tom..”
“No, I have to sincerely apologize to you. I had no right to treat you the way I did. And also today.. when I saw you with him and how well you got along, it finally became clear to me. Reinhard has felt something for you since our school days, I know that even though I could never understand, but now I do. I understand why he fell in love with you”, Tom continues without breathing, pouring out all of his feelings that he has hidden for so long.
“I understand if you want to dissolve this engagement and I will not stop you if that is what you want”, he quickly adds, looking at you with desperation in his eyes. He already prepares himself for the worst when you are the one getting closer to him this time.
“Idiot”, you smile slightly and place a gentle kiss on his lips while he looks at you puzzled. “I love you, I thought you knew that.”
“I know, but-“
“But nothing”, you interrupt him and take his hand to lead it to your fast pounding heart. “It always belonged to you.”

There’s too many dishes in the sink, you note. There’s so many, that they won’t all fit for one load in the dishwasher. It’s a pain, and you know nobody in this house has the patience to wait for two full loads to carry through, so you have to hand wash half of them and allow the whirring machine to do the other half.
If this were a romantic comedy, you’d have Tom standing next to you and you’d hold hands under the suds while you wash the dishes together and chat about your future. This isn’t a rom-com, though. In fact, you don’t even know where the boys are right now. You were certain they went into the den to play Call Of Duty — or whatever it is that they play — but then you thought they went into the backyard with Tessa, but now you’ve just given up on figuring their whereabouts.
Not that you’re angry at Tom for not helping, though. He did the laundry with you earlier, so you’re content with his keeping end of the deal. It’s the other four that you’re a bit fed up with. Sam had just recently joined the Holland-Osterfield-Barrett household of mates, and while you’re all the more happy to welcome him in, it also means more work. There’s a chore schedule, but sometimes someone has work in a town or a country away, and the gaps in the schedule are only ever left for you to fill.
It’s tough, considering you have your own job, but you’re content with the situation — for now. You have Tom, the love of your life, and you have the best people of your life - Harry, one of your closest confidants, and Harrison, one of your partners in crime.
There’s a lot of baggage that comes with being the only woman in a household of boys that practically grew up with each other. You love Tessa with all your heart, but it’s not like you can really gossip to her about your day.
You’re not too worried about everything, anyway. The second anniversary of your relationship with Tom is coming up; it’s only a few months away, and though you’ve been pondering the idea for awhile, you’re thinking of getting a place with Tom, on your own, without the nagging and intruding fellow in-laws (to-be, hopefully).
Six weeks, today marks, for how long you’ve been thinking about the idea, debating whether it’s valid enough to bring up to Tom, deciding when the best time to talk to him would be. He’s a hard man to navigate — getting a spot in his busy schedule is like fighting to the front of a One Direction mosh-pit. That makes it practically impossible.
But, you’re Y/N. You’re his sweetheart, his darling, his weakness. You’re the most important person in his life, and when you want to have a serious conversation with him, Tom’s all ears and eyes, attentive and caring, understanding and, hopefully, supportive.
You’re hoping it won’t take much convincing — he’s lived with these people all his life, and if it’s truly hard for him to decide, you’ll know what he really wants then.
Ringing out a few glass cups, you let them dry on a dish rack that sits on the countertop. The buzzing and whirring of the dishwasher alerts you that it’s still happily running, and you walk towards the glass sliding doors that lead to the patio and backyard. Peering out, you see all four housemates and Paddy, playing with a frisbee and wrestling with Tessa and messing around with a rugby ball on the trampoline. They look like kindergarteners on the playground, and you decide then to bring them some lemonade like a mother in summertime.
“Hope you’re all a bit thirsty,” you set the tray down with a warm smile. Sam shuts his book of poetry to smile up at you from his seat. He’s been reading for a good fifteen minutes, but you reckon he’ll hop on the trampoline when Harrison gets off. For now, he watches as the Irregulars star jumps happily with Tuwaine.
“Oh, sick,” Harry runs over with the frisbee still in his hands, reaching for a glass and taking a big gulp. Tessa’s at his feet, awaiting for the frisbee game to resume, and you pet her head for a moment before Tom runs over to you, hair matted to his forehead in sweat.
“You’re the best, love,” his hand finds the small of your back as he kisses your temple. You smile again, eyes shutting in bliss at the feeling of his lips, but his hand maneuvers you so he can reach for a glass without bumping into you.
One by one, they come over for refreshments, before picking up where they left off beforehand. Tom’s last to leave, wanting to talk to you before playing with his brothers again.
“Oh, I have to talk to you later,” you whisper, fingers tracing down his damp (sweaty) shirt with a giggle. Tom raises a brow, and you nod softly, “Just, when you have time. Now have fun,” you push him off, and though he’s still just as curious, he leaves you alone on the patio. Taking one last glance at the rowdy group of boys, you bring the tray of empty cups inside, sliding the door shut and sighing to yourself. More dishes to do.
——
Tom’s drying his hair with a purple bath towel when he comes out of the steamy bathroom. He sighs contentedly, before remembering your words from earlier. He brings it up, “What was it that you needed to talk to me about?”
He walks over to the dresser while you look up from your phone. You hum as Tom puts something away, and you shut the electronic device off, setting it on your nightstand and twisting to face his direction.
“I wanted to talk to you about… us, I guess.”
You see Tom’s movement slow, and he removes the towel from his damp curls, turning around hesitantly. You smile, waving him off, “Nothing bad, I promise.”
He lets out an inaudible “phew,” and nods. “Good.” You agree with a nod of your head, and he furthers on with the questions. “What is it, though? Is it something important?”
“I mean…” Tom places his towel on the rack before walking to the opposite side of the mattress “Sorta?” You offer, and you see the gears turn in his head. He sits down across from you, on the bed, and he smiles encouragingly, still a bit suspicious.
“Well, I’m all ears, darling.”
You smile at the familiar pet name, and with a final breath in, you admit what’s been in your head for the past few months. “I was thinking maybe we could… move out… without the boys.”
It’s dead quiet for a few beats while the words sink into his mind. You’re not sure how he’s going to react, but you watch to gauge his reaction.
His mouth opens, almost as if he’s about to say something, but then he closes it, as if he’d suddenly second guessed himself. For once, you truly can’t read him.
“I thought… I thought you liked living here?” he says softly, almost a bit saddened.
You sigh with your words, “I do! Really, I do, but…”
“But…?” He bites his lip.
“Well, I mean…” you exhale again, “We’ve been together for almost two years,” he’s still listening, “Don’t you think we should be a little more independent?”
“I mean, sure, if we were a normal couple.” He laughs at the joke, and while you do too, it’s not really genuine, but more forced for the awkward tension in the air. “I just thought you… y’know, enjoyed spending time with everyone.”
You nod understandingly. “I do, Tom. Really, I do. But… y’know, we’re not getting any younger. I just thought maybe it was time for us to get a place of our own.” It comes out as more of a suggestion, a question for him to respond to. You quietly bite your lip while Tom nods at the information he’s taking in.
He looks down at his fingers, before locking eyes with you. “Can I think about it?”
You shut your eyes softly while nodding. Tom blinks, before standing from the bed, giving you a kiss on the forehead and bidding farewell, heading downstairs for more quality time with his brothers.
——
It’s been a week since that conversation took place in your room. You didn’t think it’d go so… bad? You’re not sure if you should say that, because he didn’t exactly say “no,” he just didn’t seem enthusiastic about deciding at all.
It’s a quiet Saturday. You’re out bowling with a few of your friends, news of one of them getting engaged spreading like wildfire. She’s having a dinner party later, but for now, you’re keeping the meeting small, inviting your closest circle for the fun day at the bowling lanes.
Tom asked you if you wanted to reschedule the dinner with his family, but you insisted that arriving late would be fine. It’s only four o’clock — the Holland family likes to come for late lunch and spend the night playing games and drinking beer, until the clock strikes midnight and Paddy’s passing out in the backseat on the way back home.
At least now, only one Holland brother stays with the parents.
Somehow, someway, the conversation had shifted to you. Everyone’s gathered in the living room, scattered on sofas, couches, beanbags, armchairs, loveseats. Tom misses you at his side, but the conversation of how your work is going just reminds him of what you’d proposed a few days ago.
“How’re things with her in general, though?” Nikki, Tom’s mom, asks with a smile. The eyes shift towards Tom, and he can feel his face heating up.
“Yeah, how’re things with the lovebirds?” Harry teases.
Tom chuckles, anxiety bubbling in his stomach, twisting his. “Uh- they’re- they’re good, yeah,” he assures them, though shaky.
“You sure, there?” Harrison teases. “Did someone propose or something?”
“No, no,” Tom airily chuckles. “Nothing like that.”
“Oh?” His dad picks up, “What, then?”
“She- uh…” he licks his lips out of habit. “She wants to move out. Find a place for us, she said.”
The tone in which Tom tells them lets them know that he’s a little less than enthusiastic about the whole ordeal. It’s something that raises a red flag for Nikki; it’s something that makes her brows furrow in confusion.
“Oh,” Sam breaks the silent. “I’m happy for you, bro,” he pats Tom’s shoulder.
Tom smiles, though it’s forced and a bit spaced out.
“What’re you gonna tell her?” Harry asks. “You want it too, right?”
Tom shrugs weakly. Nobody talks about his responses, his reactions. It’s all a bit unexpected, for Tom to not be on board with the next step of the relationship.
“I mean, I don’t know, really.” He confesses with a nervous laugh, running a hand through his curls. “I’d miss you all so much. I just… I don’t know, I guess I just thought she liked living here too, y’know.”
A collective number of “yeah’s” and “mhm’s” go around the room, and Tom nods nonchalantly before the conversation switches to something more exciting. For now, Nikki lets it go, just until she can get her eldest in a room by himself, and before you get home.
It’s when Tom’s getting snacks for the group that Nikki decides to offer her help in the kitchen. They’re just putting dinner in the oven and preparing appetizers, but still, any opportunity to talk to Tom.
“So,” Nikki smiles, and Tom giggles while she puts another slice of tomato on the dish they’re preparing. “Moving out, huh?”
Though her tone is teasing, Tom can’t help but get shivers. He nods, quieting down a bit. Nikki’s movements remain, but Tom stops working altogether. “I don’t want to move out.”
His mum turns to look at him, and she nods, almost as if anticipating the confession. “Why not?”
Tom clicks his tongue, looking down as if he’s ashamed of feeling this way. “I just like things the way they are right now. I know at some point, someone’s gonna move out and the clan’s gonna go our separate ways, but I don’t want to be the one to go first.”
At this, Nikki fully turns to talk to Tom, no longer making dinner. “Tom…” She wipes her hands on a kitchen towel, and Tom does the same. “You were the first to go, you know.”
His eyebrows pull together in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“I mean,” she sighs, “Your career was first to take off. You ran out that door so fast, we couldn’t keep up.” Tom laughs, reminiscing to himself. “You’re going to keep growing,” she says softly. “You can’t stop that. You can’t stop everyone from growing apart. Sure, you might not grow apart, but you won’t always be this cute little boy band from your school days.”
“Not a boy band, mum,” Tom grumbles. The two of them share a knowing smile.
“You can’t blame yourself for growing, darling,” she steps closer, grabbing one of his hands just like he had grabbed hers the day he was first born. “You can’t expect to be the glue that holds this- this temporary situation together forever. You’re not a superhero,” the two of them laugh again, but then Tom nods knowingly, and Nikki can see a faint batch of tears spring in his eye sockets.
“No, I know, mum.” He sniffles. “I guess… I don’t know, i’ve just always been afraid of never being there when everything changes. I always come back and everyone’s a different person, just…” he searches for the words, “with the same faces.”
She nods, turning back to her dinner dish. Tom keeps his eyes trained on his hands, which are planted on the countertop.
“She loves you a lot, you know.” Nikki says after a few beats. “She just wants a bit of privacy, a bit of your relationship without your annoying brothers.”
“Annoying is right,” Tom teases. They laugh again. “Yeah, I guess I just never thought of that.” Nikki hums, and the kitchen grows silent for a few moments. “Thank you, mum.”
“For what?”
“Being there.” Tom replies. “You never gave up on me, and now… I don’t know. It means a lot to me that you’re helping me with something so important to me.”
Nikki’s eyes soften, and both of them tear up. She nods, this time breaking the silence again. “I know how much you love her,” She says quietly. “One day, she’ll be yours for forever. She’s the one — I can see it in both of your eyes.”
Tom sucks in a breath and wipes his eyes. “I know she’s the one, too.” He adds in another tomato to the dish. “She’s always been it for me.”
Summary: When a little boy gets lost in the woods in England, what hope does he have to return to his home safe and sound? Who will come to his rescue? Well, a very chaotic entity that loves kids.
Author's Note: I usually don't write RPF, but I felt compelled to write this one. This concept had been rattling in my head for a while, but I never felt a push to actually write it. Until now, until today, when I had been down in the dumps, thinking I had lost my writing mojo for good. I guess Loki approved?

...............
Golden, rowdy curls... unsure, confused steps.
The child was… lost, for certain. He had looked around and tried to act brave at first. But soon, it all devolved into panic and fear.
He was now crying. No, he was a sobbing mess. Crying out for his mother, looking around with frantic, wet eyes.
He was deep in the woods and there was no help in sight.
Were his parents not around? Why wasn't anyone looking for him?
The hidden, shadowy figure moved closer to the boy as his sobs grew louder, drawn by his distress. Not a sound was heard, but a rustling of wind through the trees.
Slowly, the inky shadow took on a more solid form, though the shape looked like a mirage. Ever changing, never settling.
The boy hadn't noticed the presence yet, for he was far too perturbed with his immediate surroundings.
Finally, on a whim, the shifting mirage settled on a form, just as his footsteps squished the fallen, half rotten leaves on the wet ground.
It had rained not long ago, and it might as well start pouring again.
Not that it mattered. To him, it didn't…
But the child would be soaked, and it wouldn't bode well for him. Children were fragile little treasures, after all.
The boy turned around just as he heard the wet footsteps approaching, his eyes wide and terrified.
They were a lovely shade of blue, big and expressive.
He smiled, stopping before the boy, letting him observe him.
"W-Who are you?" he asked, his voice cracking with nerves, his little body shaking in response to both fear and the evening chill of the woods.
"That's irrelevant, dear heart. Are you lost?" he asked the trembling boy, extending his hand towards him as an offer.
The boy didn't move, eyeing his hand with apprehension.
He didn't trust him. That was wise. Trusting strangers in the woods was bad form.
But in this instance, there was little room for choice.
Ah, but he knew he had to be patient. Children were delicate beings. Innocent from all wiles, they held a special place in his heart.
Bending down on one knee, he asked the same question again.
"Are you lost, my child?"
It took him a beat, but the boy finally gave him a little nod, his lips trembling as the tears once again escaped his eyes.
"I want to go home," he mumbled, barely audible.
"I see." The proffered hand still extended towards the boy. "Come then, we shall find a way back."
Patience unlike which he usually possessed took over then, as he let the boy take his hand in a slow, measured approach.
"My mum says that I shouldn't trust strangers," the boy stated, even as he grasped his hand with his little fingers.
"That's all true and wise, but your mum should've been here to protect you."
He did feel a certain ire towards irresponsible parents.
"It's not her fault. I ran away and got lost," the boy said contritely, lowering his head. "I didn't listen to her. I just wanted to run, to feel the wind on my face. I didn't see where I was going."
"Ah, I see. So you were being rebellious." He smirked as he rose to his full height. "How very chaotic of you."
The boy grew less scared and weepy and more loquacious as they began to walk, the sun setting behind them, darkening the woods.
"Is that bad? Being chaotic?"
"Not at all. Chaos is but an aspect of life. Without it, nothing would move, nothing would stir. Nothing would grow."
"So… why did I get lost then? Why do bad things happen with chaos?"
"You think it's a bad thing, but perhaps it isn't. For what it's worth, I found you."
"Yes. But what were you doing in the woods? Were you lost as well? Or were you looking for something?"
A chuckle escaped between them. The boy was a curious creature. Good for him.
"No. I wasn't lost, neither was I looking for something. I simply love wandering in the woods. I'm at home with nature."
"Where do you live?"
"Far from here, but close enough to visit these woods every once in a while"
"You sound like a riddle, and you talk in a weird way."
Another chuckle. "Do I?"
"Yup. But I like it."
Slowly, they walked in a straight line and reached the edge of the woods, stepping onto the familiar grey asphalt that served as the pathway for all the manner of modern human conveyance.
"I recognize this road!" the child claimed with newfound enthusiasm, pulling at his hand as he tried to cross over to the other side.
He let him pull him, smiling down at him as he chirped about his house, which was only a block away.
Of course, it was.
Hand in hand, they reached the boy's home in no time at all.
"Come inside," the boy urged, still hanging onto his hand as they approached the house's main door. "Please?"
He let out a sigh. "I must not, dear. I have places I need to be"
The boy pouted. "But you said you just wander around."
"Not without a purpose. I do have things to do."
The boy looked down, then sideways at the door to his house, letting out a little sigh of disappointment.
"Alright. But I want to thank you."
"I accept your thanks."
Shaking his head, the boy looked up at him again, one hand still hanging onto him while the other fished something out from his pants pocket.
"Here, please have it. I wanted to give you something more, something bigger, but that's all I have right now." He raised his hand up, offering him a confection.
He recognized it--chocolate, one of his favoured sweet treats.
"Please have it."
Well, he wasn't the one to reject an offering. Especially so innocently given. But… an offering given so freely had to have its consequences.
Silently, the confection changed hands.
"I shall take my leave now." He bent down on his knee again, stroking the golden haired head of the boy, uttering a blessing audible to no one but him, spoken in a tongue as old as time itself. "Be good, and don't spread too much chaos and mischief. At least, not until you grow up a bit. You'll get plenty of opportunities when you do."
The boy nodded, though his eyes grew sad. "Before you go, can I at least know your name, sir?"
Lightning sparked up in the sky behind him as he rose, illuminating his pitch dark tresses as he gazed down at the boy, a kind smile gracing his sharp features.
"I have many names, but you may call me Loki."
Thunder rumbled then, loud and cracking as the rain came down in a heavy downpour. "Till we meet again, Tom."
Patting his head again, he turned around and walked away, disappearing into the sheet-like rain.
"Wait… how did you know my name?" the little boy called out in confusion, only to receive silence in response.
Silence and the clamouring rain…

[Present Day]
"Tom? Hello, you still there?"
A blink, and just like that, his thoughts scattered, leaving the shadow of the memory behind. He pulled it back under lock and key, like always. This one wasn't meant to be shared with anyone.
"Yes, I'm here. Sorry, bad connection."
"Ah ok. As I was saying, Disney is going ahead with this thing, and it's going to be pretty big. They want new stories, and they're very eager to have one with Loki."
That was… a surprise. He hadn't been expecting this.
"Loki?"
"Yup."
"As much as I want this to happen, he's… well, he's dead."
He had to say that with a very heavy heart, even apologizing silently to the one he knew was certainly alive and watching over him.
"We'll figure something out. Are you game for it?"
He rubbed his palm against his face, closing his eyes. He was pretty certain that he heard a chuckle echo around him, light and effervescent and almost inaudible.
"You have to be gentle with my heart, Louis, I can't keep saying goodbye to him. Be still, my heart."
"I understand, man, but this time, you'll get the reins. Tell his story in a more fleshed out way, it's gonna be a whole series."
"A whole series, you say?"
"Yeah."
Tom opened his eyes and smiled, shaking his head in disbelief and joy.
"I'm in."
Just as the call disconnected, he went to his kitchen and opened the fridge, taking out a dark chocolate bar.
"Thank you," he murmured softly, smiling to himself as he placed it on the counter and went off to take Bobbie out for a run.
He knew that it'd be gone by the time he'd return. Just like it always did.
Hey Britt! I’ve got a cute Tom concept for you if you’d like to write on it :) what if reader gets really bad hot flashes and Tom doesn’t really know about them, so he gets a little offended/confused when reader declines wearing his sweaters and pulling away from him in the middle of the night and such and he’s like “did I do something? 🥺” and it’s just all in all really fluffy! love you and I hope you’re doin good <3
Sorry this was super lame LOL.
WARNINGS: none. Talking about hot flashes. fluff.
All your life you would get random hot flashes and you couldn't stand it, but the doctors couldn't figure out what it was, so you just lived with it.
Now, that you have a boyfriend, you want nothing more than to cuddle with him and wrap yourself in his hoodies, but you just get so hot that you can't and you feel horrible about it.
One night in particular, after you two had just shared some passionate love-making, Tom was snoring in your ear and you felt one of your hot flashes coming on. You immediately pulled away from him and turned to the other side of the bed, where the sheets were nice and cold.
You let out a sigh and tried to go back to sleep. Usually Tom would try to slide up next to you again, but this time he didn't.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning, the apartment was a bit chilly, but sooner rather than later you began to get hot again. You were sitting at the counter, scrolling on your laptop, finishing up work for the day and shiftted to take Tom's hoodie off of you. Meanwhile, Tom was still all wrapped up in one of his and pajama pants, practically shivering.
"You ok, love?" Tom asked, looking up from his phone.
"Perfect babe. You?" You smiled back at him.
"Do you not like my hoodie?" he asked, avoiding your question. "I've got plenty more."
"No, no. It's fine," you waved your hands in front of you in protest. "Just a little hot is all."
"Hot? It's freezing in here. Are you getting sick?" Tom rushed over to you and felt your head.
You chuckled. "No, none of that. I've just been getting these random hotflashes, have been since I was 16. Doctors don't know what it is, but I'm ok."
"Why didn't ya tell me, babe?" Tom asked, taking his hoodie and wrapping it in a ball in his hands.
You shrugged. "I didn't want to worry you or anything."
Tom sighed. "Your problems and ailments and everything became my problems the day I asked ya to be m' girlfriend. Don't ever think ya have to hide something from me."
You nodded. "Sorry."
"No, it's totally fine," Tom said. Then after a brief pause. "So I guess that's why you pull away from me at night. Thought I did something wrong."
You chuckled again. "Oh God! I'm sorry. You did nothing wrong. It's all me."
"It's not your fault. It's something in your body. Just wish you would have told me sooner," Tom said, placing his hands on your knees.
"I know. I'm sorry."
"Stop saying sorry. You're fine!" Tom insisted.
"Ok. Sorry," you laughed.
Tom just shook his head and pecked your lips. "No more secrets."
"No more secrets," you nodded.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Tom," you said, giving him another kiss.
