Can I have a Tom Riddle x reader where they both live in the same orphanage and Tom isn't gonna become Voldemort because he has Y/N. But his personality isn't really different either. He and the reader are best friends and one night the reader wakes up with a migraine while in the orphanage. She goes to Tom for help. They can't do magic out of Hogwarts so Tom has to help her the muggle way. And it's just really fluffy. You don't have to do it, I just missed you, that's all.
THANKSS (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤

Tossing around several times, you just cannot seem to find peace, your creaking bed pushing against your back uncomfortably and the air in your small room feels stuffy. Vehemently, your body defends itself against the sleep your body actually needs quite badly. It is your head, however, that keeps you from drifting off into the dream world.
The headache had already started this morning when you woke up and your head felt extremely light. Of course, you spent the day like any other day and did not listen to your body’s signals and warnings. And now you are lying here with the worst headache ever while a thundering storm is passing by outside.
Huge raindrops patter against the only window in your small room and the lightning bolts that keep flashing across the dark night sky illuminate the room for a few seconds before it is shrouded in darkness again.
Sighing, you turn around again, the mattress giving way under you, and place one of your legs over your blanket. You stay in this exact position for several minutes until you finally cannot stand it any longer and straighten up completely. Tiredly, you look at the clock above your room door to check the time.
Past midnight, great.
Reaching over to your bedside table, you pull on the string of your bedside lamp, which immediately bathes the room in a warm light while you sit of the edge of your bed. With your elbows resting on your thighs, you run your hands across your face. How badly you would like to just scream very loud right now, but unfortunately that would wake up the entire orphanage. And honestly you can imagine nicer things than having to explain your scream to several children and supervisors.
However, at this moment it occurs to you what or – to be more precise, who – can help you now.
Slipping into your soft slippers, you finally get up and stretch yourself, your bones cracking a few times from the extremely uncomfortable mattress. You sneak towards the door and pick up a candle that you light with a match on the way. Carefully, you open the creaking door and peer out with your head to make sure that nobody is walking around the dark corridors.
As soon as you are sure that you are alone, you step out into the cold hallway, which is only occasionally illuminated by the light of the streetlamps outside and the lightning bolts. Precisely estimating every step you take, you move across the loud wooden panels that have already seen better days. Holding the burning candle in front of you, you take a closer look at the room doors and the numbers written onto them. Even though you are positive you would also find his room with your eyes closed.
Arriving in front of said door, you put your ear against it first and listen, waiting for some noises from the inside. But when you do not hear anything, you softly knock on the door before opening it, greeting you with a loud creak as well. Quickly, you close it shut behind you and your gaze falls on the room, which looks confusingly similar to your own. Just like every other room in this orphanage, to be exact.
“Tom?”, you softly whisper into the silence, waiting for an answer in vain as you come to quickly realize that he is asleep in his bed, snoring quietly, his wand tightly in his hand. A small smile creeps onto your lips at the sight of his messy hair. He would never voluntarily show himself to anyone like this.
Sitting down on the edge of his bed, you tap his shoulder carefully, but again he shows no reaction. A little frustrated, you roll your eyes. He has always been a deep sleeper.
“Tom”, you repeat his name, this time a little louder, accompanied by a rather rough shake on his shoulder. Finally, this has an effect on him when he slowly begins to move, apparently finding his way back into reality. Before you know it, however, his wand is directly pointed at you.
“Wow, cowboy. Calm down, it is just me”, you giggle and raise your arms in fake surrender. As soon as Tom recognizes you and your voice, he lowers his wand with relief and lets himself fall on his mattress.
“Let me sleep”, he grumbles, obviously offended that you disturbed his sleep.
“Tom, I am here for a reason”, you shake your head in disbelief as he tries to fall asleep again, although he did not even seem to wonder why you are suddenly standing in his room in the dead of night.
“Leave me alone, Y/N. Can that not wait until tomorrow?”, his rough, sleepy voice sounds through the room, and he does not move again, his back facing you.
“No, it cannot wait”, you reply, a little annoyed by the way he talks to you. “I have a terrible headache and do not know what to do about it.”
After those words leave your lips, he abruptly moves and turns to you, his eyes narrowed to take a closer look at you in the darkness which is sparsely lighted up by your dim flickering candle. It takes him a moment to process all of it before he finally points his wand at you again.
“Do not worry, I can fix that”, he states, but before he can even think of a spell that might help you, you snitch his wand from him in shock.
“Are you crazy?! We are not allowed to use magic in the muggle world, you idiot!”, you snarl at him while he can only look at you in utter disbelief that you could get a hold of his wand so easily. “Do you not think that I would have helped myself with magic a long time ago, stupid?”
“Well, if you really want to do it the harder way”, Tom rolls his eyes and takes his wand back before he gets up from his bed with you. “I heard about a miracle cure created by muggles. It is supposed to work wonders against any kind of headache. Come on.”
Feeling grateful, you follow him out of his room and into the hallway, where you slowly move down the stairs. Before you can reach the ground floor, however, Tom hastily pulls you up and to the side, hiding your figures behind a corner. He supports his hands next to your head against the wall while his chest is almost touching yours, you would only have to inhale once, and your bodies would meet. But you are much too frightened to breathe, holding your breath for unknown reasons until you also perceive the echoing footsteps that Tom noticed long before.
“Shit”, you quietly swear under your breath, but Tom immediately presses his hand to your mouth in order to silence you. At this exact moment, one of the supervisors comes running up the stairs, not realizing that two of his proteges are almost right next to him past curfew. Inwardly praying that he will walk the other way as soon as he reaches the top, you close your eyes and try to be as silent as possible.
A sigh of relief escapes your throat once the steps finally fade away in the other direction and Tom takes his hand from your mouth.
“Well, that was close”, Tom breathes out heavily, also relieved, and a smile immediately plays around his lips when he looks at you. It is just like in the old days when you were kids and scurried through the building together every night, always looking for the next adventure.
Taking your hand in his, he quickly pulls you behind him as you go down the stairs now. At the next corner he comes to another halt, causing you to accidentally run into his back, which he only comments with a shake of his head and a gentle chuckle. Once he made sure that you will not make any more nightly acquaintances, he pulls you with him and into the small, run-down kitchen of the orphanage.
Immediately, he fills a glass with water and searches every cupboard for his so-called ‘miracle cure’. Triumphantly he holds a package in the air when he apparently found what he was searching for. Intrigued, you inspect the packaging while Tom takes out a white pill and throws it into the glass with water. The small pill begins to dissolve in the water with a hiss right away.
“Drink this. Completely”, he orders you as soon as the pill has completely disappeared. After thanking him, you take the glass and then drink the fizzing brew. To this day, you do not understand who thought it was a good idea to make medicine taste absolutely gross and disgusting.
“That is inedible!”
“Well, then next time you better make sure that you do not stress your body to the limit! Of course you will get a headache then”, Tom replies to you, annoyed, crossing his arms over his chest when he apparently notices that his words sounded like he was actually worried. But he is Tom Marvolo Riddle, he does not care about anyone.
Almost.
“Are you worried about me?”, you ask in astonishment after you managed to empty the glass with one big last gulp. You look at him with one eyebrow raised, the corner of your mouth lifting slightly. It if were not that dark in the kitchen, you could swear you see his cheek turn red.
“Stop imagining things”, Tom playfully sticks out his tongue and gently snaps his finger against your forehead.
“I would not dare”, you giggle and place a tender kiss on his cheek as a thank you before you take his hand in yours and lead him out of the kitchen.
A/N : Sorry it took so long guys ! Hope you’ll like it ! xxx
Summary : A complicated story in which Y/N and Tom already know each other from work.
Y/N : Your Name
Y/L/N : Your Last Name
LIE TO ME MASTERLIST
Y/N's heart had stopped beating.
All she could hear was Tom's manager repetitively calling her name as she walked to the backstage.
For a moment, Y/N had to sit down.
This wasn't good. What was going to happen now ? Was she... fired ?
Her stomach became a ball of knots as she fidgeted with her fingers. Until she felt a strong hand gripping her shoulder.
"Y/N."
Oh god.
Swallowing the lump in her throat, Y/N looked up at Tom's publicist,
"Luke, I-I don't know wha-why it happened, it was completely..."
"Brilliant !" he exclaimed, finishing your sentence.
Behind him stood Tom, arms crossed against his chest. He didn't seem very proud and Y/N suddenly wondered why. After all, he’d gotten his revenge.
"What are you talking about ?" she asked, absentmindedly glaring at Tom.
"First of all, you’re definitely an artist on the rise, and... Well, a highly public relationship would only help bring more attention to all your amazing on-going projects, right Y/N ?"
Ah. Sweet Hell, no.
"Second," Luke continued, "Tom's career always get a bit of a boost when he's in a relationship. But if he was with someone like you, someone who is not a celebrity... It would be the Notting hill story of the year, do you understand ?"
Y/N did her best to remain calm,
"What are you suggesting ?" she scoffed, and after a moment, she finally spluttered, "Seriously ? You want us to... pretend we're together ? Luke, you know me, it’s so... not me."
Luke slowly nodded, causing her to make a face,
"Well, no." she promptly said.
"Everybody would love it ! Come on Y/N. At least, think about it. For one minute straight, just... think about it."
Y/N's wide eyes crossed Tom's exasperated gaze. Of course, Tom didn't want that to happen. It was clear on his face, Y/N knew him too well. But if she was being honest, the simple fact that Tom had lost control over the situation was very satisfying. Playing with her career and her dreams like they were kids was completely immature. So didn’t he deserve it, after all ?
"Luke, can I have a word with Tom in private, please ?" Y/N finally asked.
As soon as she did, Luke walked away.
Tom looked down at his feet, releasing a long sigh through his nose. Y/N stared at him, waiting for an explanation. When the slightest smirk crossed his lips, she threw her fist across his chest.
Before he could even talk, she growled,
"Now you listen to me, Hiddleston. How dare you ? You humiliated me in front of thousands of people, with no valid reason..."
"Humiliated ? I had a feeling you were enjoying it."
Again her fist landed across his strong chest, harder this time and Tom groaned,
"Fine, fine. I'm sorry, alright ? I know I went too far this time. Look, you were insufferable, Y/N. I was just trying to..."
"To what, Tom ? Destroy my career ? Because my heart wasn't enough, you had to mess up with everything." she uttered, drawing attention to them.
Tom froze, an unreadable expression on his face.
Y/N blinked in confusion, lowering the tone of her voice and avoiding his feral gaze.
"No more excuses." she said as calmly as she could, "Now, you're going to take responsibility for your actions, Tom."
It was his turn to be confused,
"What do you mean ?"
"What Luke said, we're doing it."
Tom chuckled, shifting his weight on one leg,
"You can't be serious." he shook his head, looking for a sign that she was just trying to scare him, but to the look on her face he understood it wasn’t a joke.
"You owe me that. I won’t let you screw my dreams and hopes. You should have thought about this before you kissed me on TV, babe."
Tom frowned, clearly distraught,
"Don't... Don't call me that."
"Oh, really ? How about... baby boo ?"
Oh, she knew how he despised these little names. Right now, Tom was boiling.
"Y/N, we can talk about this. I'll make it up to you, I swear. I didn't realize what I was doing."
The young woman took a step toward him and without the shadow of a doubt, she wrapped her arms around his neck,
"Oh, but I like it this way, my sweet little boo."
"I'm not sleeping on your couch again."
Her body was now dangerously close to his. While mocking Tom was very funny, when Y/N saw the fire in his eyes, she almost melted. He hadn't moved a finger, he didn't need to. Electricity was already coursing through their bodies. Y/N felt her heart stutter, then stop. What was that ? How could she be so thirsty for revenge, yet into him at the same time, after all he'd done to piss her off ?
Tom looked deep into her eyes and they fell silent. Little by little, she noticed tiny details she hadn’t paid attention to before. The warmth emanating from his chest. His body and hers fitting so perfectly together. And he looked so serious now that...
"Amazing." Luke sighed behind their back, "I didn't know you were such a good actress, Y/N."
Y/N came back to her senses and noticed Tom's publicist was staring at them,
"Just..." Luke grabbed Tom's arm and pulled it around Y/N's waist, "here you go... Oh, and..." he pushed her even closer, just so her chest was pressing against Tom's.
Y/N blushed, avoiding Tom's gaze, but before she could protest, she heard the click of an iPhone camera.
"And this goes right to Tom's Instagram account."
Almost instantly, Tom took a step back, his eyes still on you. Sensing his reluctance, Luke patted his shoulder.
"You guys will thank me later. Oh, and Y/N, Abe wants to see you."
Shit, Abe.
Luke knew how to tame her. He just had to say the boss’ name.
"Great..." she muttered, a whole new ball of knots forming in her stomach.
Tom seemed to realize he'd gone way too far this time and he gave her an apologetic look.
Note: maybe a part two, depends on how ambitious i’m feeling ;) also lemme know if you want to be on any of my taglists
When it came to acting in the new Spiderman movie that will have Marvel fans combust from the pure brilliance of it, I loved it.
When it came to spending all my time with Tom Holland because I was playing his love interest, I hated it.
Nothing in the world could get my blood boiling faster than that idiotic boy opening his lipless mouth. There’s nothing truly wrong with him...except for his inability to shut the hell up when it came to the movie plot, or the way he doesn’t ever shut up in general. Don’t even get me started on his cockiness. Sure, he can do a couple flips and shit. So what? Half the time, he lands right on his stupid face and those are probably the best moments of my life.
The hatred I have for him is not one sided. Believe me when I tell you that Tom hates me just as much as I despise him. Getting caught between our intense glares can probably murder an animal as large as an elephant if looks could really kill.
I’m not quite sure why this mutual resentment for one another began. Just from meeting him, I could already feel the uneasiness bubble within my stomach. I’ve heard that he was polite, but somehow that trait of his flew out the window ten minutes into meeting him.
Somehow, our on screen chemistry is nothing like our offscreen screaming matches and snide remarks. The directors actually loved how well we work when we’re faking any ounce of kindness to one another. To me, Peter Parker could own my heart in the blink of an eye. And then, when I blink myself back into reality and see Tom’s smug face, I want to vomit.
And just the idea of kissing him tomorrow has my head spinning a million miles an hour as I’m sprawled out on my hotel room bed. I’ve been tossing and turning for the past hour, not understanding why the thought of making out with him is keeping me up. I’m sure it’s the absolute resentment I feel towards him, but my hatred for him has never kept me up before.
So, I curl myself into the sheets of the mattress, hugging the blankets to my chest as warmth fills me up. I snuggle deeper into comfort, eyes shut peacefully and I feel it.
I feel the sweet satisfaction of slumber rocking me to peace...until my eyes snap open to the shrill, sharp sound of rapid booms against my hotel door.
“Who the hell?” I grumble groggily, forcefully throwing the covers off my body in a fit of anger. The knocking continues as I stomp across the room to the front door. Swinging it open, my eyes meet a familiar pair of beady brown ones before slamming the door shut.
Before hearing that satisfying click of the lock, Tom’s arm is propped up against the door, successfully stopping me. I groan, letting him pushing open once again.
“I can’t sleep,” he says.
“Well, I can.”
I go to shut the door, this time harsher. Still, Tom quickly shoves his foot in between, barely flinching from the quick movement.
“Can I come in, already? It’s quite rude of you to leave a guest out in the hallway.” I squint at him like he was the dirt at the bottom of my shoe. Pursing my lips, I try to quench the bitter taste he leaves in my mouth just from speaking. He sighs loudly and dramatically. “I haven’t got all night, Y/L/N.”
“What if I do?”
“I know you’re an immortal, demonic being, but—Okay! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” he suddenly shouts as I go to slam the door once again. I slowly pull it back open, brows furrowing at his frantic yelling. Taking a good look at him, I finally realized how disheveled and messy he looks.
His curly hair was a bird’s nest atop his head, almost if he had been tugging and running his fingers through the waves nonstop. His t-shirt was wrinkled like he had been tossing and turning in bed. Tom’s brown eyes were unbelievably tired, and I couldn’t put a finger on why he looked like shit more than usual.
“Are you alright?” I question wearily, voice void of concern. I was more suspicious than anything.
“I just…” He sighs again. Are his lungs okay? What’s with all the constant sighing? “I need to talk to you.”
“Me?”
“Yes.”
“Me?”
“Yes, Y/L/N.”
“Hold up,” I open the door a little wider, propping my hand against my hip and narrowing my eyes. “Me?”
Tom frustratedly throws his hands in the air. “Yes, okay! It’s you I need to have a conversation with in the middle of night. You’re the only person I can talk to about this. If coming here was a waste of time, then I’ll just go.”
He turns to leave, and watching his back as he took a step triggered something inside of me. I open the door a little wider, the creaking of the hinges causing Tom to look over his shoulder. He stares at me in disbelief and I roll my eyes.
“Well, are you coming in or what?”
A few moments pass as he awkwardly shuffles in past me, his natural scent passing me by. Due to it being the middle of the night, his nauseating cologne isn’t drenching his outfit. Night-time Tom is more pleasing. He takes a seat at the foot of my bed, folding his hands in his lap. Tom’s back was straight, as if being in my presence made him feel he should be alert 24/7.
I stare at him skeptically. His eyes didn’t seem as beady, even in this dim lighting. His jaw wasn’t clenched in the obvious anger he always had for me. From the way his fingers fidgeted, it was almost like he was nervous. But I wasn’t buying it for one second.
I lean up against the wall across from the bed, arms crossed and waiting. The silence between us was suffocating, my heart suddenly missing our continuous banter and arguing. Tom just sitting there, perfectly innocent just this once, was messing with my head. I couldn’t help but feel nervous, my heart racing at the sight of him.
“Frog got your tongue?” I inquire.
Tom lets out a soft, tired laugh that suddenly twists my heart. “It’s hard,” he shrugs. “Saying what I want to say while also saying it right.”
“Tom, it’s three o’clock in the morning, and I have no idea what you just tried to tell me.”
“I’m nervous about kissing you tomorrow,” he quickly blurts out.
My eyes widen in surprise before I push myself off the wall to stand. “Uh, what?” I utter in complete confusion. That’s what’s keeping him up, too? Too. What is going on?
“I know we have great onscreen chemistry, but what if we’re not good enough actors? What if we can’t pull off kissing each other?” he starts to ramble, standing up and pacing the room. His fingers find themselves in his hair, just like I thought they would. “I don’t wanna mess this up. This is such a big movie. And what if we have to kiss like multiple times because we can’t get it right. This is Marvel, we’re talking about here. They’ll want it to be good. What if we can’t make it good, Y/N?”
“Woah, woah, woah,” I interrupt. My head was spinning from his constant talking. The sound of my first name leaving his lips surprisingly didn’t leave a raging fire of annoyance in my stomach like it usually would. “It’s kissing, Holland. It can’t be that hard.”
“It is when two people hate each other.”
“And you had to come all the way to my room to remind me of our shared hatred because?” I ask, wanting him to finish my sentence.
Tom halts. He stands a couple feet in front of me, chest heaving up and down from the continuous ranting. “Because…” he trails off. He couldn’t meet my eyes. “I have a solution but I don’t know if you’d want to do it.”
Pursing my lips, I put some thought into it. Some real thought. I hate to admit it, but the idea of screwing up the entire scene because of a petty hatred for one another terrified me. This movie is my one shot at getting my name out into the acting world. I want to pursue my dream, prove those who mocked me wrong. Despite the small part of spite thrashing about in my stomach, there was also my heart yearning for this. All my life, all I wanted to do was act. This was my dream job. I’m literally living the dream, and I can’t let something as meaningless as one kiss with a stupid boy ruin it.
“What do you have in mind?” I ask, feeling my shoulders slump in defeat. Again, it was three in the morning. There’s no point in trying to keep up this never ending facade of hating Tom anymore, not when he seemed just as defenseless.
“You might want to sit down for this,” he suggests.
“Don’t tell me what to do,” I quip.
His lips turn into another dopey, tired smile. “This won’t work if you’re going to be a brat.”
I mock him, my voice tainted with an English accent that only pulled a laugh from his throat. He sits back down at the foot of my bed, eyes staring up at me with a newfound patience. Something about it made my stomach turn. Tom pats the space beside him and I feel a string snap inside of me as I find myself slowly sitting next to him.
“Do you trust me?” he whispers. I don’t have time to respond as he gently grabs my hands, his own enveloping mine in this comfortable warmth. My heart slams against my chest, and I almost choke it down when it suddenly gets stuck in my throat.
“Barely,” I croak, not missing my palms turn clammy.
In response, his thumbs soothingly rubs at the back of my hand. I honestly melt into his touch.
“Stop me at any time you feel uncomfortable, alright?” he murmurs. I nod slowly, suddenly losing my ability to form any coherent words. Tom nibbles at his bottom lip, head tilting to the side. “I’m going to do it now,” he says, words trailing off into an uncertain end.
“Just do it,” I mumble and his lips curl into a silly little grin before he leans in and softly presses his lips against mine. In a matter of seconds, his hands find a familiar home around my waist as he pulls me closer into him. We move against one another with cautious actions, my hands clumsily gripping at the hair on his neck.
For a short second, one beautiful and heart wrenching second, I feel the switch in my brain click. All those times where we were yelling back and forth. Those moments where my eyes linger a little longer on him when we glare. The reason why my heart jumps at the sight of him. It all makes sense.
Kissing him, liking him, made sense.
He pulls away all too soon, barely giving me time to register how much I truly wanted this. Tom’s chest heaves up and down as he cockily smirks at me. “Alright, so maybe it won’t be so bad tomorrow,” he smiles.
“Tom, I-” My confession barely rolled off my tongue before he clapped his hands together and stood up, leaving nothing but cold air and loneliness beside me.
“Great acting, Y/L/N. I always forget you have it in you to be likable at times.”
My heart plummets to a deeper part of me I didn’t know existed. “W-What?” I stutter out, eyes still blinking in and out of reality. Or maybe blinking back tears I didn’t know I had yet.
“We’ll be fine for the scene tomorrow. I can finally go to sleep with a clear conscience,” Tom says, completely unaware of the feelings I was harboring inside of me.
“That was it? Your plan was to just kiss me to test the waters?” I ask, voice a little more defensive and high pitched than what I’d hope.
He furrows his brow. “Uh, yeah. That kiss was just that. A kiss. Nothing more. Nothing less.” My heart twists and Tom’s posture suddenly falters. “Why? Did that mean something to you?”
No. It’s late and I’m tired. Of course it didn’t mean anything. Or maybe it meant everything.
I shake my head, the resentment I had for Tom creeping back up my spine. I couldn’t find it in myself to yell at him, fight another pointless argument. I just usher him out of my hotel room in an anxious fit before he’s in the hallway and I’m hiding behind the door once again. I barely mutter a bitter good night before his hand is stopping me from closing the door once again.
“Wait, that didn’t mean anything, right?” he asks, voice dripping in an emotion I couldn’t decipher.
My chest aches. My nose twitches while a sour taste is left in the back of my tongue. I try to shake the feelings out of my system. I attempt to cleanse myself from the flood of thoughts suddenly crashing over my brain in a fatal tsunami.
“Never,” I spit out, avoiding his eyes. “Nothing that happens between us could ever mean anything.”
It was starting soon so you squealed with a mouth full of popcorn, and took the mini mug cake out of the microwave before speed sliding across the kitchen to the living area in your socks. Almost falling over you manage to make it to the sofa. Using the trackpad on your computer you click the link your boyfriend had sent you. He was in America for a number of reasons and an interview was one of them. You smiled happily as the black screen that read, "Just a moment," disappeared and now you could see his beautiful face grace the screen. The host asked him a series of questions and each answer made you smile. One question in particular made you blush, "So it's rumoured that when you met your girlfriend, (Y/N), you thought that she had no idea who you were... so while on the date you rambled on about you're made up life, is this true?" The host asked and Tom blushed and began laughing: “Yes.” (gif) The memory made you laugh. You knew who he was the whole time. He even told you his name was James. After the date, when he had driven you home you opened the car door and before leaving, you said, "Good night Tom," and then winked. He blushed a deep red when he realized you knew who he was. You then asked him why he lied and all he said was, "I just wanted you to like me without knowing who I was."
You walked across the road to the Holland’s house, wearing an oversized striped t shirt that came down to your mid thigh. You ring the doorbell once and are quickly met with Nikki opening the door.
“Y/N! I heard you had quite an evening yesterday” she says with a laugh as she invites you in, “still hungover?” She asks
“I uh did yeah hahah, well I’m pretty sure I’m over the worst of it now” you reply
“You looking for Tom?” Nikki asks
“Yeahhh he was acting odd, just wanted to check in” you say
“Hasn’t said a word to me so I’ve got no clue what’s going on” she says “but I think he’s just showering so you can wait in his room if you like”
“Cheers Nikki” you say, walking into Tom’s room and sitting on his bed before you take your phone out and mindlessly scroll through Twitter. Suddenly you hear Tom coming out of the bathroom singing Finesse under his breath, and he walks into his room with his towel hanging low round his hips, and his curly brown hair dripping water down onto his shoulders. He looks up, and his eyes widen,
“Y/N uh hi what are you doing here??” He stutters
You hadn’t seen Tom without a shirt on in a while, and you know he’d been boxing and going to the gym more often lately but holy shit, you think, he is shredded. Stop it Y/N, this is the guy that you’ve grown up with, he’s just Tom from across the road. Right?
“Take a picture, it’ll last longer” Tom says as he notices you staring
“Oh fuck off” you say, blushing having been caught.
“What are you doing here then?” Tom asks, pulling on boxers underneath his towel, before throwing the towel beside you on the bed and grabbing a shirt and jeans.
“Wanted to come over because you were acting all shifty earlier and didn’t know why” you say.
“Uh shifty? What do ya mean?” He asks, running the towel through his wet hair.
“I dunno, you tell me. But you bit Haz’s head off and then stormed off” you say
“Just hungover” he says bluntly
“Bullshit Tom” you say, laughing “I’ve know you since we were 8 you can’t lie to me”
“You’d be surprised” he mutters under his breath
“What?” You ask
“Nothing don’t worry”
“You’re weird” you say
“You’re weirder” he replies
“Wowww you really need to work on those comebacks Tom” you say, laughing
“And you really need to work on not fucking another random guy Y/N” he says, with an eyebrow raised.
“Ooo low blow Holland, low blow” you say
“Hm yeah well” he mutters
“You see! That’s what I mean! You’re all blunt and weird and you’re not telling me why, so come on, spill” you say
“Shut up Y/N I’m not acting weird alright, now, do want pancakes or not?” He asks, changing the subject
“Oi don’t think I didn’t notice that avoidance but I’m really bloody hungry now so imma save the interrogating until after my stomach is full of pancakey goodness” you say, sighing and following Tom out the door.
“Mummmm! Me and Y/N are going out for pancakes, back later!” Tom shouts to his mum.
“Alright kiddos” you hear Nikki shout back
Both you and Tom have always gone to this little breakfast place in town to get pancakes, and it’s become a tradition between the two of you. You never even have to order, the guys just know that when you two walk in, you’re gonna want pancakes.
As you walk in you spot they’ve got a new waiter,
“Oo Tommy look they’ve hired someone new” you say to Tom, nudging your head in the direction of the new waiter. “He is bloody fitttt as well oh my goddd”
Tom rolls his eyes and turns round to see the new waiter. He is literally the mirror image of Harrison. Blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, about 6ft2. Brilliant.
“Since when did you point out fittttttt guys?” He says, mocking your previous voice “or is this the new Y/N?”
“Hey there is no new Y/N dipshit I just think he’s cute”
“Do you not even realise he looks exactly like Haz?” Tom asks, raising his eyebrow
“What? No he doesn’t you’re blind Tom they look completely different, look his uh.. well he’s uhh... oh shit he does” you say, leaning on your hand.
“Fantastic” he mutters.
“Would you stop it with all this muttering it’s getting annoying can we just get pancakes pleaseee?” You say
“Well they’ll be coming in a minute darlin I’m sure”
“Don’t think the new guy is aware of our pancake tradition, he’s coming over now to take out order, look” you say as Tom turns round to see the blonde guy walking over, flashing a bright smile.
“Hiya guys how are we doing today?” He asks
You laugh at Tom rolling his eyes and reply to the guy “Well I’m doing great thanks, what about you?” You ask
“I’m great thanks hun” he says, with a wink.
Tom sees this and his hands ball into tight fists when he hears the man call you “hun”
“What can I get you guys then?” He asks, looking down at Tom with a raised eyebrow. Tom doesn’t answer, as he stares out the window.
“Uhh two lots of the classic pancake stack, one with bacon and syrup and the other with berries, thanks very much” you say to the waiter
“And anything else for your boyfriend?” The waiter says, smirking at Tom. Tom’s head whips round at this and before you can even correct the waiter, Tom replies “nah mate nothing for me”.
“Tom! What was that for? One second you’re a moody shit and then the next you’re pretending to be my boyfriend”
He shrugs his shoulders, “didn’t like him that’s all”
“Is this because he called me hun??” You ask “or because I called him fit?” “Or because he looks like Haz?” You question.
“All of the above” he says
“Awwww Tommy looks who’s jealous” you tease, poking him incessantly.
“Oh stop it I am not jealous” he says with a laugh, dodging your pokes.
“I’m pretty sure you areeeee” you continue to tease him, “and I’m also pretty sure that that’s why you’ve been acting all weird since last night - you can’t cope with me being with a guy can you??”
“Y/N I can cope with you being with guys what the fuck of course I can, stop trying to make this into something it isn’t” Tom says, blush creeping up his neck.
“Mm hm? Hey look pancakes!” You say, seeing the guy bringing over two plates of stacked pancakes.
“Yesss finally I’m starving” Tom says eyeing up the plates put before them.
“Thanks so much, they look delicious” you say, flirting with the waiter and licking your bottom lip to especially piss off Tom.
“You’re very welcome babe, enjoy” he says with a wink, and walks off.
“What the fuck was that then?” Tom asks, rolling his eyes, his mouth already full of pancake.
“Just thanking him for his wonderful customer service Tommy” you say, sweetly, batting your eyelashes before cracking up in laughter.
He rolls his eyes again, “oh just eat your pancakes ‘babe’” he says, mocking the waiter.
You laugh, and as you both eat your pancakes, your conversation returns back to your normal chatter about anything and everything. In the back of your mind is the fact that Tom is jealous whenever you talk about guys and you can’t shake it. You rationalise, that doesn’t mean he wants to be those guys, maybe he’s just stroppy at the moment or something. Tom can’t like you that. He can’t. Right? You’re not going to lie and say the thought of the two of you hasn’t crossed your mind in the past year or so. People already mistake you two for a couple, because of how close you are and how much time you spend with each other, but you guys have always laughed it off. For some reason he’s just become so much more attractive in your mind recently and god, his body is pretty amazing...
“Y/N!” Tom says, waving his hand in front of your face, breaking off your daydreaming. “I said your name like 3 times are you alright?”
“Shit sorry just got distracted by something” you answer, blushing.
“Right okay” He says, uncertain
When you’d both finished and paid, you started to walk out the cafe, but you were both pushed against the wall as a large group of women pushed through the door. Tom was in between you and the wall, and even though you guys were only there for a minute, you could swear you felt something sticking into the back of your leg. You brushed it off and told yourself you were imagining things, before leaving the cafe to go back to Tom’s.
Tom’s POV
Just as you were filing out the door, a group of middle aged women come bustling into the cafe; pushing him and Y/N into the wall.
Fuck, he thinks as he feels your ass press into him, this is not going to end well. He scrunches his eyes and looks up to the ceiling, trying to focus on the peeling paint, as opposed to the feeling of you pressing against him. God it feels amazing, he thinks, but as the final women come through the door and you’re both free to walk out the door, his heart sinks at your absence. Looking down, he realises he has a not so little problem...
