Drawing on some of the more advanced Documentaries and Films such as Leonardo DiCaprio’s Documentary ‘Before The Flood’, Brain Cox’s Documentary ‘The Wonders of the Universe’ and Alejandro González Iñárritu’s drama/thriller film ‘The Revenant’ I intend to emulate a similar style as my approach to tackle this documentary assignment. The cinematography, camera movements, sound design and effects/transitions used within these film’s are a notable inspiration for how I intend for ‘Tomaree: A Historical Summit’ to turn out. Basic structure of these documentaries and their linear timeline of past-present-future is the exact thing that I am passionate to attempt to replicate in our documentary. Since the inception of our idea I have been passionate about all aspects of how we will tackle such an ambitious project and interesting in the kinds of shots we can get to best convey the purpose of the piece.

17/08/2018 - Today the group met up for our first group meeting, we started on the preproduction documents necessary for the documentary assignment. After dividing up segements of the powerpoint and the word document we then threw around multiple ideas about how we wanted to tackle this project. ‘Tomaree: A Historical Summit’ is an ambitious education, nature documentary which will highlight the importance of history and conservation aspects of Tomaree National Park, as well as present day activities that take place around the mountain. We got to writing and developed a more conceptual idea on how we wanted the documentary to play out.
