Imagine the crap that would go down if your OTP was forced to pick which one of them would die/be tortured.

Okay, stick with me for a second...

Villain: The two of you have been very... problematic... for my plans. That cannot go unpunished. However, because I am undoubtedly fair and reasonable, only one of you shall pay.

Person A:...Pay with what?

Villain: One of you shall be punished thoroughly, in a rather generous way, if I do say so myself. It’s not death, though they may wish it was. Torture of course. And, I’ll even let you chose who receives this punishment. You have fifteen minutes.

And with that, the walk out, and the only exit sealed. The shackles released their limbs.

They both just stared at each other for a few seconds, then Person B spoke up.

Person B: It obviously has to be me.

Person A sputtered.

Person A: W-what no. I’m not letting you do that. No way in Hell.

Person B: They’ve hurt you before, and I will be damned if I let it happen again.

Person A: This is worse. This is worse and you know it. I’d rather chop myself in half then have you get a hangnail. This would hurt me more.

Person B was turned around, frantically searching for some way out, panicked by the realization that it didn’t exist.

Then they collapsed to the floor. Person A had knocked them out.

Person A: I’m so, so sorry, Person B. I can’t see you get hurt. I won’t let it happen. I love you.
